By 'CA' do you mean Alta California, or Corriente Alterna? ... although, perhaps, either could be worked up into a response
What i meant by 'these Américas' were the two rather large continents we americans, i.e. those of us who live from Point Barrow in the north to Cabo de Hornos in the south, and from the Aleutian isles in the west to Recife in the east .... by process of elimination - not Europa, not Asia, not Africa, not Australia, not Antárctica .... called in english 'North America', 'South America', and most commonly with 'Central America' between ..... can't recall how many nations therein, twenty-nine or something maybe .... four languages spoken principally, by alphabetic order they are english french portugues and spanish, there are also hundreds of indigenous tongues ..... the language most spoken, and most learned as Muttersprache by the majority of we americanos is called in english 'spanish'
And that was true of Alta California as well, up to the anglo invasion of the 1840s ... large parts of it again now, too ... así es, and the place is the richer for it ... or has the potential to be, let's put it that way
