Such discussions should be kept private to protect both sides of such an argument. One side will lose such an argument. If the argument is held forth in public there is the potential for embarrassement.
The problem I can see with this is that post deletion is, in itself, a very public act. It is often felt as the losing of an argument, the slamming of a door. Why do you feel that holding a CoB publicly accountable for his/her public actions would be potentially embarrassing?
