It's hard to believe this company and many of the familiar names on this board are still around. I continue to hold about 4500 shares ( I used to have a lot more) and have, pretty much, given up on them ever having any value. Lots of negative history, unfulfilled goals etc., to overcome here. Stay tuned! GL
Russian resolution to gtem's problems. (Tongue thoroughly set in cheek) With Russia and Venezuela said to be best pals and there is reputed to be a Russian offer to help install broadband to provide cheap Internet and telephone service to Caracus.....what better company than Globetel with it's "close Russian ties etc. etc. etc." It Could Happen! Then again.... Once around the block with gtem was enough for me. Although I still own shares in this scamming sh*t bag company. Hi to all longs and I hope you have done better than I have in the market recently.
"Heck of a job Brownie".
On a more positive note: I'm still very optimistic about Mercator Minerals. Just added to the S/P Toronto this week. Lots of cash on hand and Molybdenum about to begin being milled in a couple of months. FWIW (Lost my ass in Globetel....getting it back with this one)
Several months ago I posted the following on this bd. (The current price is well over $11 depending on the exchange mlkkf @ $11.65 and Ml.to @ about $11.25) It is going higher IMHO...if anyone is interested (A special Hola to nerd)
"Back on 3-25 in post #38 on this bd. I mentioned Mercator Minerals. It trades under two symbols (ML.TO and MLKKF). ML.TO was @ $3.32 on that day and is close to $7 now and MLKKF is in the $6.35 range. From what I hear there is much more to come fwiw. The ace in the hole is molybdenum which they have a lot of and will begin to mill by early next year. Definitely worth a look IMHO. GLTA"
Note: Actually the molybdenum operation is due to start up Phase #1 production the end of Q #2. They are a prime candidate for a buyout at $15 or so as well imho. Good luck to all former gtem longs.
Our N Calif. home has full southern exposure and we've been considering going solar for some time. Are you aware of any improved, lower cost, alternative panels, or other solar innovations that are available or on the horizon that you would recommend? I've recently heard about some breakthrough technologies that are being worked on but know little about the subject. I don't mind waiting if doing so results in a more efficient, hopefully more affordable, system. Any feedback would be much appreciated. (I am a fellow gbdxer)
WIDD: During my 3 plus years of owning this stock much of what gtem has depicted as being actual has proven to be virtual. As for an office in Florida, who knows? Hanging in there!
SPD; I'm sure gtem's crack PR dept. would have said "We are nowhere near ready to fly this pig, if that were really the case. If we longs (I know you aren't one of us) are looking for something to give us a ray of hope this seems better than hearing the shipment never made it or is in pieces floating in the Atlantic. Like everything else it is always interesting with this company.
justfrank: I've been a supporter and holder of gtem shares for over 3 years, even recommending it to a friend when it was at $3.25. Can you deny that those who have been critical of gtem and its' performance in recent months were not somewhat correct? I'd like nothing better than to see my 15k shares increase in value to a level anywhere near where they once were. Being cautious or at least aware of the negatives and to the company history is not a totally bad thing.
Is there an agreement with the "germanes" too (lol)? The dog may be barking but the fleas and hiccups of the past will be hard to overcome. I hope they can do something to turn things around. Fingers crossed!
I hope you are correct about the long wait before Chapter 11 but given the history of this company in the 3 years or so I've owned their stock I'd say those calling for bk might have it right. So many pilot programs, foreign projects, and hints of deals etc. and yet so little actually coming to fruition. Lots of personnel changes for whatever reason. I still hold my shares but would be surprised if they go up in value. JMHO
Would that make Adog, the basher, a "Bashett Hound"?
Danielle: Unfortunately I've been "Hanging on to my seat" ever since I invested in this company (lol). It's hard to play golf, or do most anything, in that position. I hope you are right about the future contracts. We shall see.
"IMO, Rob's contacts and connections played a role in this new developmentad". I had to scratch my head on that one as well. I doubt if Rob has had any role in this seemingly good announcement. We do need to see this new development come to fruition....the sooner the better. IMHO
And to think I was actually beginning to doubt gtem's ability to reverse this slide and do something right. Thank goodness my only sell order in 3 years didn't go through yesterday @ .18. The statements from Globetel sure make it sound like the Strat's are up and running and everything is right with the world. We shall see...fingers still crossed but too cautious and beaten down to do cartwheels just yet. gltal
Hunter6110: You sound like a guy who WANTS the sp to go lower rather than one who's charts are showing all this negativity. Every post has the tone of the wolves are at the door, the sky is falling, and the sharks are circling....Doom and Gloom!
Speaking of sharks has anyone heard from Sharkey..I'm concerned his kids might be holding him hostage after yesterday suggesting that he set some limits and take back control. Sharkey send us a signal that you are alive and well and not tied up in the basement (lol).
cowboy10994 wrote: "Did anyone sells shares yet to get their investment back?" Affirmative. I did and it is something i rarely have done. I still have over 2/3 of my original shares, however. This is probably a bullish sign for the rest of you. The last time I sold shares early was frpt @ $7.42 and it is @ 23.35 now (sh*t...lol)) GLTAL
Gbdx is a global diamond exchange stock that I was told about 5 weeks ago. It comes complete with talk a of a buyout from a Russian entity Sib Almaz which gives me cause to worry. Funny thing is I bt. it @.006 and it's @ .0185 and showing signs it wants to go higher. Buyout rumors persist and there are a few other interesting facets (hard to get export license in place; office in N.Y. being renovated; etc. etc.) If anyone REALLY wants to jump into the fire this one might be exciting but could go either way. "Pontiak" is even an investor and a regular on their ihub bd.
I'm still very high on Mercator Miners which is now at $7.90 U.S. and rising. Have a good day all!
truthhub...good choice! It looks like you got a good car at a good price. I like the color too. Congrat's! I have earmarked whatever I gain on gbdx to go towards a similar purchase. Today was a bullish day all things considered, esp. after the early selloff.
Now there is a loaded and very personal question for you (LOL). Can't wait to see the responses. Fwiw about 1 month.
Great! Now we're going to need "anti-spoogging spyware (ASS)" to protect our monitors from the "Motha Falopians" (lol). And my wife says I don't learn anything on the message boards. Fun Day....Fun Board....GO GBDX!
Nerd: Interestingly, we weren't regular golf partners and I don't see him around much as he works out of the area. I do owe him big time. If you have looked at the charts, financials etc. I think you would be impressed. I felt this way about some other stocks but this one seems to be a matter of supply and demand and there is a shortage of molybdenum available so I'm thinking this will continue for awhile. My problem, as always, is taking profits. I wish I had bt. more when it was .38 - .40...but isn't that always the case? Do you have any hope for gtem turning things around?
nerd: Thanks, I'll put it (cree)on the watch list. fwiw...I met a guy playing golf that told me about Mercator Minerals about 3 1/2 years or so ago. He said the guys running the co. are top notch people with integrity and know how to get the job done. He has known the CEO for about 20 years. So far they have set and accomplished or exceeded well stated goals. They just announced today that they are proceeding well on the assembling of a concentrator which will enhance production and should lead to much greater profits. Molybdenum is the ace in the hole for this copper mining co. and they are gearing up to produce/sell it early next year. They have a very astute group of investors/posters on the Stockhouse Canada (ML) website. Today's close (ML) $8.17 (MLKKF) $7.678. This one has more than made up for the gtem debacle (I still have 15k shares or Globetel) CYA
I was guessing due to the fact that no trades had gone through in some time. Apparently they are trading again now so whatever caused the trading to stop was temporary.
seamus: Hell I'm "fluent"....I'd like to become "affluent" (lol). We are definitely halted pending some news. I hope it is good.
Myself and pontiyak and perhaps others on this board owned a stock by the name of Globetel. 18 months or so ago, (gtem)announced there was a 600 million dollar deal in the works with a group of Russian investors to supply telecom goods and services to a number of key cities in Russia. Deadlines came and went, the deal never happened and the stock price fell dramatically. It's now doubtful that the group of investors ever existed. I'm not saying this will happen here but the track record for consummating honest and timely agreements involving Russian partners is sketchy at best. I hope I'm wrong here because I did go ahead and invest a small amount in gbdx but sh*t has been known to happen when Russians and money are involved.

I also mentioned it on the gtem bd. @ under $2 and got criticized by grashelm, for being a loser in picking gtem therefore why listen to me on this one ....I'm smiling now!)
eliot: "priceation" (lol) You must have gone to school with George W. Let's hope this all comes about. Fingers crosseated.
"in dept" may not be "inept" but it is not "indepth" either.
yak: Good to hear about the bricks and mortar DD. I heard about this stock through a golfing buddy last week and leapt into the fray with a fairly small sum. As for the frying pans, I've been hiding them from my wife since the gtem fiasco (lol). Thanks and good luck.
pontiyak: Good to see a familiar name on this bd. After the debacle with Gtem and Internafta etc. do you have any concerns about the Russian involvement in gbdx? I'm new to this one and perhaps asking ?'s I should have asked prior. TIA
malomead and negger0.....thank you both for clearing up my confusion re. the 400th boadmark (sic.) and Sib Almaz. I hope you guys are correct in your enthusiasm for gbdx. GLTA
negger0 wrote: "CONGRATS to the 400th boadmark!!! I wish you all the best here....once again Congrats and all rise...SIB ALMAZ is coming to NYC brothas!!"
I'm new to this board. Anyone care to decipher this message for me? esp. the "400th boadmark" and "SIB ALMAZ" parts...thanks in advance.
Seriously; fair enough...I hope you are correct about the ability of new management to get things done. It is often difficult for those who have been mislead (as many feel we longs have been) to forget about all those past transgressions and accept that things are now going to be different. We didn't make this stuff up, our current level of skepticism is hard earned. If the new guys can turn things around great. Time will tell. GLTY and All Gtem Longs.
seriously; what is false are the many deadend pilot tests; promised new projects (all without follow-up details)and misleading pr's that have kept us clinging to this tattered dream. Like the man said, we are locked in and it would be foolish to sell now. And no, I couldn't look someone in the eye and recommend this stock at this point in time unless and until they produce something concrete that goes beyond the talk stage. I hope gtem makes it but, based upon the past several years,I would be pleasantly surprised if they do. AIMHO!
pokestake: Good post that expresses the feelings and well deserved concerns of a good many Globetel longs. The company has put us in a position of being skeptical after so many unfulfilled promises and missed deadlines. I too am locked in and must only hope that something good comes of it all.
Pokestake, that's a pretty good analogy of the situation with Globetel. It sounds like a lot of us have hung in there believing what we have been told by the company. We do have a right to know these things IMHO. I bought stock in another company a couple of years ago (UGHO) and the patterns and promises and PR's etc have been similarly positive with little substantive follow-up. The sp has suffered as well. I hope Gtem can produce something tangible and soon. GLTAL
It might be a small bus...I'm a long shareholder but I must admit I'd have a hard time getting on a bus in support of gtem. JMHO
I'm not seeing any changes in trade volume..etc. Are we halted?
Working-Too-Late: Unfortunately for a lot of us it is hard to argue with much of what you say. We are in the tenuous position of hoping something good comes of this but suspecting that it probably won't... all the while watching our investment dwindle in value. Lot's of lessons learned with this one. I too hope we get a chance to recoup some of our losses. GLTAL (we will need it)
Thanks seriously, I hope you are correct on all fronts. It has been interesting.
