Nice....I will add to header. Looks like the marketing has stepped up a notch. Hopefully presenting to other investors.
re:float
Most of my expertise is in technical analysis....not so experienced with fundamentals and reading financials. I do not know what effect the latest filing due to the Lilly collaboration has had on the float or if what is put out by websites like business week is even current.
This doesn't exactly instill confidence that our team is on top of any and every opportunity possible that could utilize our technology....He thinks? How about "we are actively monitoring ALL military and govt. RFP's and engaging when and where our C levels (gimmie a break) determine those opportunities fit our criteria to do so". Do they need some help looking out for leads? I know, I know, he may have been just patting the puppy dog on the head....good job nonetheless nil, as a fellow shareholder, I appreciate it.
yes i was on the list as well previously....wonder why I did not get the nr by email this time? Anyone else have this issue?
HELLO ALL
I have taken over moderating the APNS board since it was vacant. I will be making further updates to the informational header as well.
QUIT BICKERING....post something informative or a thought out opinion please but the mind numbing posts about who bought what and sold what and who is a pumper who is a basher blah blah MUST STOP
RE: Jones
I posted my impressions of him after listening to the SHM meeting presentation.

I do think this resignation was a mutual decision for various reasons on both sides. I would be dissapointed if he is not still involved as a consultant because it would be a shame and a waste to lose him totally. Though I was wrong about who the eventual "implementer" would be. Notice the budget was cut....
It's curious that there are some of you who are very vocal about the way this and the other board are moderated and yet when frank asked for help moderating, we had no one else step forward?????
Also if you are smart enough to figure out how to post on this board or even use the computer you should be able to figure out how to let Matt know if you have a problem....It's called "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page for those of you who have not seen it the thousands of times you have opened an ihub page to read or write a post....http://www.investorshub.com/boards/Contact.asp
I encourage you to use it! LOL
griff100,
Thanks, I apologize....
I'm sure to most I am beating this drum to loudly but I can't tell you how much it bothers me that someone in his position can so flippantly talk about the specifics of someones termination to someone not even employed by the company.
yes,.... I can assume that the spirit of the email meant to say "...dispel any MIS-information." Just helping to prove my point that this is not a good way to communicate this kind of information. Some things sure but not something of this nature.
nerd86,
"...At the time the German news became known, my phone call week had already concluded, so I was not using the calls as a tool to dispel any information."
was this a typo on your part?
crash and globe,
I'm not attacking you for your opinion, I am only saying what you are posting is more hearsay than fact.
1. I would not expect the hired representative of a company to put said company in a position of http://dictionary.reference.com/search?db=dictionary&q=libel
by answering any questions about a terminated employee other than the hire, term dates and position held.
2. I have previously attempted to contact on more than one occasion about a variety of things and he has chosen not to respond.

Sorry, I didn't realize Mr. Bleckman was posting on our message board. Do you by chance happen to know his ID so I can find the posts I obviously missed?

IMO That's one of the BEST ways to get sued, making public specifics like that, true or not(at least here in the good ol' usa). When someone leaves a position by their own choice or not they are always "TERMINATED". I don't think it's professional of Bleckman of all people to be giving out that information and fwiw I have always believed his mouth writes checks it can't cash....
.395-.40 will be the support...if it holds
but then why bother with TA on a lil' ol' OTC stock right???? lol

He does seem to be selective to whom and what he responds to. After my third try, I gave up....
Interesting to me Mr. NR finds that so funny given the current state of GTE....his arrogance and condescending attitude sicken me.
duzi,
He should be performing his duties as COB of Sanswire, if he was not, we would have been told of the change. He may also be moving in "private" sector circles, we are not privy to, promoting Sanswire and not the "public" exposure we are thinking of. Thats what I'm assuming due to lack of any information about public speaking engagements.
frank and duzibotz61,
I did submit a similar question for the SHM and also emailed seperately to IR after SHM. No response to either.
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=11952355
"Along the same lines, I was wondering if anyone at the shm saw and/or spoke with Rick Searfoss? I'm hoping he's been active behind the scenes doing some high level networking and presenting because has been keeping a rather low "public" profile hasn't he? Anyone know if he has been speaking at any conferences, symposiums etc.?"
"With his extensive background as a noted professional speaker to corporations and associations on leadership, teamwork, and innovation, Rick will also serve as public spokesman for Sanswire. GlobeTel CEO, Mr. Timothy Huff, noted “Rick's extensive career in aviation, space, and leading-edge technology, linked with his skills as a professional speaker, made him a perfect addition to our Sanswire team. We look forward to his technical inputs, perspective, and representation to the public of our exciting and world-changing new capabilities.“

Well GTE does not have to worry about the testing of Sanswire 1 it was tested back in May of 2005. So that takes care of that one. And we tested two military prototypes as well in November 2005. So you see folks Huff has not lied to anyone. A little something the Fool forgets to add in his articles. I know a lot of you remember this but her it is again.
GTEL Announces Floating And Testing Of Sanswire One
Sanswire One floating in the hangar, tethered and weighed down. Made of Space age Materials and powered by solar powered electrical engines, each Stratellite will reach its final altitude by utilizing proprietary lifting gas technology. Once in place at 65,000 feet (approx. 13 miles) and safely above the jet stream, each Stratellite will remain in one GPS coordinate, providing the ideal wireless transmission platform. The Stratellites are unmanned airships and will be monitored from the Company's Operation Centers on the ground. A Stratellite will have a payload capacity of several thousand pounds and clear line-of-sight to approximately 300,000 square miles, an area roughly the size of Texas. Read more stratellite specs.
Fort Lauderdale FL (SPX) May 10, 2005
Sanswire Networks, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GlobeTel Communications, announced Monday that the Stratellite prototype, Sanswire One, has been completed, floated and tested.
The new design increased the overall size of the airship to 188 feet in length and is believed to be the largest rigid frame airship in existence.
Sanswire One was filled with lifting gas and flown under controlled conditions.
These are parts of the limited testing that will be performed at Sanswire's facility in San Bernardino, prior to moving to its new facilities near Edwards Air Force Base.
Sanswire intends to launch Sanswire One for full testing from Edwards with help from the US Air Force and NASA later this summer.
Timothy M. Huff, CEO of GTEL, commented: "This is a great day for us at GlobeTel and Sanswire. It has been a long and hard road to get to this point and many have said we couldn't do it. But as they say, 'a picture is worth a thousand words.'"
Sanswire One was floated and tested within the airspace specified by the FAA and was tethered at all times. Airborne stress measurements and other data were gathered by the Sanswire Engineering team.
It has now been returned to the hangar in San Bernardino and placed in backwards, nose facing the hangar door.
Mr. Huff continued: "We have made significant breakthroughs in our airship design and our technological advancements. We have reached our initial goals for this airship and we are now focused on the next steps of our plan, which will include our upcoming launch at Edwards.
"We will capitalize on what we have accomplished to this point. The interest in our project by governments, world leaders and large corporations grow almost weekly."
Mr. Huff concluded: "We now have, on our website, pictures of Sanswire One floating off the ground. We will continue to provide news on significant milestones as we have herein, as they are appropriate.
"We release this news today, to show the world that we have succeeded thus far with this project and are 100% committed to the next major milestone and to the start of construction on Sanswire Two."
Sanswire One is being dedicated to Christopher Jones, the son of Bob Jones, President of Sanswire and the team leader who leads this project with his team. Christopher passed away in February, 2005.

Telecom Rewrite Unlikely to Reach Congress Before Elections
Posted on: 09/22/2006
The telecom rewrite bill spearheaded by Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, likely will not come to a vote before the November elections, Stevens told attendees of a Progress & Freedom Foundation event on Thursday.
Stevens reportedly told members of the press he is a few votes shy of the 60 votes needed to bring the bill to the floor.
The news comes as the Senate Commerce Committee continues its publicity push for the bill, and as RBOCs and various industry associations keep releasing statistics and studies showing how new video franchising rules and lack of net neutrality oversight will benefit consumers.

crash,
Ok, I'm kinda with you now... DARPA/ISIS and MDA HAA initiatives funding is possibly cut and Boeing's SBInet at this point isn't including HAA's so we are the front runner.
I dunno...
Would Northrop or Lockheed just scrap the program if they don't get the funding? I think they could both certainly afford to do it without help but why would they when they can just move on to another program and suck on the govt. nipple. We have to hunt and scavenge for our food. Either way, if you are right, we should be first.
nil,
"...so they'll probably continue to use it, 'til something better (and we know what that is) comes along."
I think the small UAV is being used for a different purpose than GTE's large HAA would be used for. It's probably used for verification of human vs. animal etc.
"...integrated sensors, radars, a “smart fence” and cameras, as well as sophisticated points of entry."
The govt. wants a WALL between us and mexico and a smart fence and tower security system "sounds" more secure than a system utilizing large HAA's even though they both could probably "sense" intruders.
I would think they could be used together to complement each other and once GTE has proven what the strat can do, it might be utilized.
crash,
"The Boeing win places us on better ground regarding the airship."
Are you saying you think that Boeing was going to use Lockheeds HAA?
"Knowing this then, it is reasonable to suggest - that Lockheed's HAA may or may not survive the funding cuts and depending on whether or not ISIS specifically is cut."
Indecision may or may not be a problem here. LOL J/K
I agree the funding picture for Lockheeds program is murky.
http://www.ohio.com/mld/beaconjournal/business/15414888.htm
but I'm not sure I follow your IF/THEN here:
"If DARPA/ISIS is cut, then that also places Northrop's initiatives - and their current partner Worldwide Aeros' initiative in jeopardy."
I understand Northrop may be assisting WWA but not from any specific govt. funding right?
yes I have "heard" the same through various news sources about the preference for "existing" technology. Certainly contrasts with this statement doesn't it?
“SBInet will integrate the latest technology and infrastructure to interdict illegal immigration and stop threats attempting to cross borders,” said DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff.
Dissapointing nonetheless, as I had held out hope of GTE working with one of the prime's on this and Boeings proposal kills that...
"official" announcement of sbinet award on the dhs website
DHS Announces SBINET Contract Award to Boeing
For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
Contact: 202-282-8010
September 21, 2006
Fact Sheet: SBINET (PDF 1 page, 141 KB)
http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/interweb/assetlibrary/sbinetfactsheet.pdf
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced today the award of a contract with the Boeing Co. to implement SBInet along the United States northern and southern borders. The landmark SBInet program will provide DHS, and its agents and officers, with the best possible solution to detect, identify, classify, respond to and resolve illegal entry attempts at our land borders with Mexico and Canada.
Announced last year by Secretary Chertoff, the Secure Border Initiative (SBI) is a comprehensive plan to control our borders and stem the flow of illegal immigration through an integrated mix of increased staffing, more robust interior enforcement, greater investment in detection technology and infrastructure, and enhanced coordination on federal, state, local, and international levels.
A critical component of the SBI strategy is SBInet, a program focused on transforming border control through technology and infrastructure. SBInet will provide frontline personnel advantages in securing the nation’s land borders by fielding the most effective mix of current and next generation technology, infrastructure, staffing, and response platforms.
“SBInet will integrate the latest technology and infrastructure to interdict illegal immigration and stop threats attempting to cross borders,” said DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff. “This strategic partnership allows the department to exploit private sector ingenuity and expertise to quickly secure our nation’s borders.”
The SBInet solution will be deployed using a homeland security threat-based approach. A model of the entire solution mix will be deployed at the Southwest border during the next eight months. Following this initial deployment, additional task orders will be issued focusing on the Southwest border first.
Boeing’s award of the SBInet acquisition was made through a full and open best value competition. The SBInet contract is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract with a performance period of three years, with a potential for three one-year long contract extensions. U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s SBI Program Management Office serves as executive agent for the department’s SBInet program—leading, managing and working with Boeing to implement this comprehensive multi-year plan to secure America’s borders and reduce illegal migration.

vern,
As someone who has "been around the block", seen and done things many would love to have been in your shoes for, take a moment to put yourself in the moderators (both boards) shoes before making assumptions about the type of board you have actually been a frequent poster on. If you have any questions about specific posts and what belongs on this board, read the board header, or please email frank or myself at the email address provided on our profiles. It keeps the clutter down. Same goes for problems with other posters. Take it off board.
Thanks.
Nikos60,
Do YOURSELF a favor and reread my post and then read the board header. No problem with SAM expressing his point of view but issues with other posters should not litter the board and unfortunately, me having to explain that to you does the same thing so...
END of thread.
sam,
Please email frank or matt with your concerns and do us all the courtesy of not having to view it. Thanks.
Fortune,
I'll repeat myself since I guess you forgot. LOL. One of my points:
"I also know GTE had to take whatever funding deal they could get to survive."
Back statements like this up with facts or please don't make them.
I'll help you out here and maybe save frank and myself some delete time, a better way to make that statement might be:
"I am concerned by this funding deal as it appears on the surface to be an unfavorable type of funding for the company currently for these reasons, 1. blah blah blah 2. etc...
Some examples of funding I have seen for a company in a similar situation as GTE "link". Some of the reasons I think this type funding is taking place now could be 1. blah 2. blah and 3. blah. Based on this reasoning and the current uncertainties re: 1. delisting 2. strat testing progress 3. blah I am expecting the price to blah and price support at blah or blah."
END of thread....
for everyones sake, I hope that helps.
Fortune,
You are twisting lowtrades posts to support a point. Of course lowtrade is speculating and so are you:
"This funding deal is a red flag and it signals a decrease in shareholder value and that GTE is in dire straits."
"I also know GTE had to take whatever funding deal they could get to survive."
"I furthur know that GTE faces delisting to the BB and thats going to limit their future ability to get funding and attract institutional investment."
"Folks, what Low is saying is pure theory and it sounds great but has no facts to back them up."
I'm sorry, I must have missed your FACTS to back up YOUR OWN statements. Most of what you are posting doesn't belong on this board anyway and don't give me any baloney about TA not a factor now. I'm all for both sides of the story but you are the pot calling the kettle black. Questioning the funding deal is fine, questioning other posters opinions is fine, support your own opinions and keep it related to price movements without trying to "call out" other posters please.
I have to agree with the echo on this one. Other than to personally attack the moderator, you don't seem to have much to say of any value thus far for this boards readers, technically or fundamentally about the stock.
NASA farms out moon rocket
"The last time NASA awarded a manned spaceship contract to Lockheed Martin of Bethesda, Maryland, was in 1996 for a spaceplane that was supposed to replace the space shuttle. NASA spent $912 million and the ship, called X-33, never got built because of technical problems."
http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/space/08/31/moon.rocket.ap/index.html
segways:
Kevenaok thanks for the article in your post. I did not think I could be more disgusted with our political system than I already was.
Thats right people,LOCKHEED MARTIN needs MORE money to complete their airship!
So let's get the politicians and lobby involved, top it off with a nice picture and a "look at us, we are providing jobs", the community is even paying too!
If I lived in one of these counties I would be SCCCCRRREEEAAMMMINGGG WTF. "Akron and Summit County governments are helping fund the project along with Lockheed Martin"
