So I am at the main branch of one of our banks in our holding company today delivering a life insurance policy to the head of the IT department.
I ask what is going on regarding technology...the response: Check 21 and the changes it will cause the bank.
What's up for next year I ask? The response: easy...it's banking through your cell phone...only it's not called a cell phone but your PDA. That's where the banking industry is forcing banks to move toward.
It's coming folks...IF NEOM's patents hold up and IF NEOM can weather the storm financially, the potential is unlimited.
By the way, didn't NEOM sign an agreement a few ago with a compay that was involved with banking and Check 21? Can anyone find that press release and give an update regarding that relationship?

Anyone...What was the symbol or name of the Tobin Smith recommendation of a few weeks ago that was trading between $2 and $3 dollars a share?
Thanks

New use / continued development of barcode technology:
Towards the end of the article it talks about how a barcode printed on the back of a ticket will be used to track a fans account.
OU to track athletics attendance
From staff reports
The Oklahoma athletic department is taking attendance.
On Saturday, OU will launch The Sooner Loyalty program, which will use technology to track who goes to games.
The system will reward fans who go to games — or pass along their tickets to others, through a new ticket sharing plan.
“These initiatives make it possible to maximize the use of our tickets, fill our venues and reward our fans,” OU athletic director Joe Castiglione said. “It is absolutely a win-win for everyone.”
OU officials said this is the first such program in college sports. In the past, the problem of season-ticket holders who elected not to attend games has been most noticible at OU basketball games, especially those that were officially sellouts.
Fans who attend more than 75 percent of the games they purchase season tickets for will get points, which are used by OU to determine seat location and ticket availability for marquee events.
Fans whose tickets are used for 100 percent of the events will receive an additional four priority points. Those whose tickets are used at 85 to 99 percent of the events receive three points. Two points are awarded to those whose tickets are used at 73 to 84 percent of the events.
The points can be accumulated at volleyball, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s basketball and football games.
Bar codes on tickets — which can now be printed from any computer — track fans’ accounts.
Season-ticket holders receive a free membership to the Ticket Marketplace and Ticket Sharing portion of SoonerSports.com, the athletics department’s official site. Non-season-ticket holders can purchase Ticket Marketplace memberships for $25, giving them the opportunity to access premium tickets posted for sale by season-ticket holders.
Two questions on BSDS for the those smarter than I:
1. When the acquisition is complete, what does this do for NEOM? (what does having BSDS bring to the table).
2. When the quiet period ends, how should (not will, but should) the market react? (e.g. price go up, price already factored in).
Thanks in advance.

Cabernet,
Pleast stop pumping SHRN on the NEOM board. The first post was informative, the second begins to make you read like a pumper.
Thank you,

Stock_raving_mad...so what role would Telecordia possibly play in the WordRegistry project? How many players/companies would it take to make this project successful?
Pennyheaven....stop crying. If you can't handle the lack of news, sell your stock. Every post from you has the same crybaby/whiny tone, which sounds similar to a year old baby crying for his mamma.
Old shareholder here. Was thinking about CVIA / WTCH the other day and was wondering what ever happened to Keith Anderson? Last time I paid any attention to this stock, he was operating out of Tulsa and somehow was running the "company" after the Maybie's (spelling) ran the company.
Whatever happened to him?
And, if anyone knows, what happened to the Maybie's. For most, this will be before they became involved with CVIA.
Thanks in advance.

I give up. What is it that is important?

Could someone please explain, using an example, how a reverse merger works. Thanks in advance.

Question for the board on NEOM:
On NeoMedia's website, in addition to the micropaint and paperclink links, their is a link for NEOM system integration. What exactly is the system intregration division and what do they do? How does/will the system intregration division generate revenue for NEOM?
Thanks in advance,
OC
One thing on the potential settlement...everyone posts 2/23...any news will have to be drafted and approved by both sides and then the judge. Even if an agreement is reached in principle on 2/23 it will be at least a few days until everything is signed, sealed and delivered. Best case scenario, I don't any news regarding the Virgin case until 3/1/05 at the earliest. Of course, this is just my opinion.

Client won't pay their bills?
In layman's terms, a motion for summary judgment is the defense saying "hey judge, their is nothing to this lawsuit, it is baseless so please dismiss it now before we waste everyone's time and money". Scanbuy's motion for summary judgement was denied, meaning the judge determined their were factual issues to the lawsuit that could potentially be determined to be in NEOM's favor.
It was good that Scanbuy's motion was denied. I am sure the denial was expected but it never hurts to try...espicially when the attorneys get to bill a ton of money for their time.
Hope this helps.

$8.50 / share
Joedimaggio
My guess is paper losse for future gains. Let's say that his cost basis is $15.25 a share and he can sell a million @ .25 or a loss of $15 a share. He can then carry that loss into the future against capital gains. In my opinion, at it is opinion only, he is simply preparing for the future my maximizing his losses now......which means that he is expecting an increase in the pps.

How does this affect NEOM? Or is this just another example of technology being used on cell phones.
Thanks,

.Mobi domain approved...how does this affect NEOM?
[From www.infosync.com (news)].
"ICANN, the body that oversees the core functionality of the Internet and is responsible for regulating top level domains or TLDs (such as .com, .net, and so forth), has approved two new TLDs including the controversial .mobi domain. Backed by a consortium of Microsoft, Nokia, and Vodafone, the .mobi domain is intended for web sites that are specifically designed for mobile devices. The approval comes despite the "father of the Web" Tim Berners-Lee and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) previously issuing a statement condemning the .mobi domain as contrary to the device-independent way that the Internet functions.
It is unclear how the new .mobi domain will be allocated by the registrar setup by Microsoft, Nokia, and Vodafone, including what the cost for a domain will be or who will be permitted to purchase them."

The words "Reverse Split" concern me. Howeever, if the only reason for a reverse split were to raise the price of the stock to a $1.00, then a reverse would not be necessary if the price of the stock was already above a dollar. Does that make sense?
Does anyone else have a comment on the potential of a reverse split.
Thanks

Question: Let's say I buy the word "Insurance". What options are left for your company, which also wants the word insurance.
Thanks,
