It's not politics Nick, its politics you dont agree with. Anyone can block anyone here. I dont bother doing so. If George's virgins ears cant handle reality then he can block my comments. So can anyone else. Banning my comments mean nothing to me Nick.
You have so few people on this board you'll posting to yourself.
George, the 5000 plus page bi-partisan bill was negotiated and written by duly elected representatives in congress. Of course most folks aren't aware of the details.
One major component of the bill that was direly needed was covid relief.
Nero fiddles while Rome burns. You nor the president may not see the need for the relief package included in the bill, and there's need for additional funding, but the matter is that the American people are hurting and there's no politicking around that.
Took a quick look and liked what I see. Opened a small position in BEP at 41.50
This was a Bi-partisan bill that would have helped the American people for the most part. So what if there are a few details which the president didn't agree with.
The answer from my perspective is that the president threw a monkey wrench into the mix. It's clear that the Dems took the bait and the GOP won't budge.
Congress clearly should just have passed it and overrode any potential veto. I don't know what mind game the president is playing here. The deal was struck. Help was on the way and now it isn't- again.
So while the president hangs out at Mar Lago where the locals don't want him and his cohort, people suffer. This is absolutely unnecessary and dreadful for so many.
Not so Merry Christmas for them. "Let them eat cake"- Marie Antoinette
"No soup for you"- the "Soup Nazi"- Seinfeld.
Hey there's always the local bread line or food bank if there's anything left. Unemployment insurance payments will now end and rental and other assistance will stop. "Red" and "blue" states and cities are reeling with huge budget holes and the fed does nothing. We're screwed.
What a mess Biden will have to sort.
Good riddance to this president. Looking forward to numerous criminal charges and the next 20 years him and his ilk tied up in court and better yet, prison. I'm absolutely livid.
Thank you Court for sharing.
If anyone else research's these areas, consider posting. I'll be doing some research on a few of these over the holiday and hope to report back those results, and my holdings.
If you have an idea in this area, there's a chance to work as a unit towards a specific goal here. Much like an investment club.
Merry Christmas all !
I had previously recommended LUV, DAL, ALK with notable mention JBLU.
Reopened 52.50 with a nibble DKNG .50 higher than my last sale. Will add right along.
Opened CLA at $16 and 15.75
Closed FEYE at 22.40 +42.15%
I'm looking at putting together a portfolio of renewable energy, spac, ev, cyber security and lithium stocks. New tech and mature tech ( say within about 10 years new ).
I'd like to take suggestions for well researched companies. Anyone interested in helping with this endeavor ?
It's worth anything I can sell it for. Cash is still king Court.
Opened FRSX at $6
I guess the justification is in today's price which far exceeded my expectations- 190.43 today.
Atta boy SF !
A mistake adding at 169.Now cost basis at 100 or so.
Nick,
AI is all over the place today. How would you trade this ? It's crazy watching these gyrations in this stock. SF Court, anybody have any insights on this one. My cost is around 94, it's traded as high as around 180, now it's down in the 160s it's been as low as 131 before skyrocketing to the 180s. What's a trader to do ? I'd really like to hold but it's giving me pause.
Nibbled on AI at 169.17
I place more of an emphasis on tradability, not dividends. You know that about my trading style.
Conversely I have my dividend producers, good solid companies for the most part. JPM-H, QRTEP, AB, IRM, EPD, too much of T, NRZ, NYCB, SBRA, KNOP, STWD, PDCO, EQH, (and ABBV which I still kinda love but am losing interest in as fickle as I am ), a variety of bonds, annuities and mutual funds yielding around 5% on average and up to over a 25% + return, and a ton of cash so I'm diversified. I don't mix apples and oranges when trading. I don't care too much about DIV. Not when I can walk away with 10-100% in just a few days. Not to brag, but that has happened. Not as often as I'd like.
So there's that.
Yeah, I bought TDOC and LVGO on the announcement of their merger. LVGO paid off as they merged and spun off cash. Now it was TDOCs turn. No I wasn't in 140% lower, but made some and will stay with a minor position that won't crimp me.
TDOC dropped to 190 so I bought more then on the announcement of AMZNs telehealth project. That will hurt TDOC. At this point it's too iffy. The gorilla in the room is a bit much of a concern for me and for TDOC.
Being in the stock when it was favorable to own and not closing when it was favorable to close so leaves me holding the INTC bag. I'll get rid of it soon enough. If I can't it's not the worst dividend rate.
Nick says around 44 to add. Since I'm upside down and Nicks cost goes back to the $25 range, I'll just look to reduce my cost basis till I'm out.
I had my chance when I went in in the mid 50s and might have sold in the mid 60s. That was then. I recently moved my closing target from 55 to my cost. Stuff like this do not belong in my accounts. My cost on INTC is now 51.26.
I'll be out at 51.26. That's a fact Jack.
Write a bit on this sight, have a cup of coffee at home and post a few Dance videos and commentary on my Dance Workshop What's App group and TDOC is over 211. Crazy day.
I mean look at AI from a low of 151 to 180. Enough to make ones head spin.
Trimmed more COST at 360. +4.14%
The selling on this may be nearing an end.
I'll be looking to begin adding. Had started to significantly trim at 366.
Added to TDOC with another 1/20 of original position at 208.
If it heads in the other direction after creating such a beautiful chart since $210 this am., I'll close and be done.
Been walking after TDOC since 203. This hasn't backed down since it hit around 210 on my close then fell to around 203. Hate chasing it here. Had buys backs at 203, 203.50 204, 205, 206, 207 ,208... Oy. If I can grab it back here somewhere, it'll be a much smaller position. It was too heavily weighted in my portfolio.
So far none of my buys were filled. I've just been a little too slow to pick this back up.
Oh well.
Re-opened with a nibble I mean really tiny 1/20th of the position at 208.87
Added to INTC at 46.50- ANYTHING TO GET OUT OF THIS P.O.S.
Closed TDOC at 210 from a cost of 200.
Added to CAAS at 6.78
If... I'd rather continue to hold and collect the dividends then sell around 31 and buy back around 28.75.
That's the ticket.
Trimmed COST AT $361 from a cost of $342.
It continues to go down, I continue to reduce the position. 5.42% profit, plus the $10.00/ share on that special dividend.
Trimmed BNTX at 100 for a loss from 108.
Oh well.
I wish I'd had that problem.
Oh, and before I forget- added to AB at 33.10 pre market. 8.23% dividend and a seemingly long term hold and stable stock.
I remember speaking with an advisor over at Morgan Stanley and him telling me AB wasnt an investment to make. Well, so far he's been less than correct.
Famous last words.
Nick,
ATTA BOY !
Thanks, to you as well. Though it behooves me greatly to sell for tax losses, I dont have enough for much offset. This year I really wish I had more because when I remove the quality companies from my tax loss list there isnt much else.
Oh well tis the season.
Your studious input is welcome, valued and much appreciated SF.
Thanks SF for the atta boy. I've missed so many trains pulling out of the station. Most notably QS that closed at a handsome profit somewhere I believe in the high 60s.
I closed my purchase orders this morning for 58 and 59. QS is around 106 today.
Choo choo !
Trimmed a bit more AI at 169 from a cost of 94.72, for a short term profit of 69.12%.
Atta boys are welcome for this one.
I had stated earlier that my concern was for the S&P 500 Index once TSLA was added. The S&P is down today largely because of TSLA.
Around a 10% short term profit.
Trimmed a bit of ZDGE at $5.50 from a cost of $4.88
I missed that train Court.
Did add back to COST AT 362.90 from a trim this a.m. at 366.
Nick, Could be Rabbit, could be...
I've I've been saying right along he's run the country into the ground, same way he ran his businesses into the ground. Anyone having read his bio would have come to the same conclusion.
This isnt " sell the good news" this is " uh oh the virus is mutating news".
Batten down the hatches. Women and children first, next stop Davy Jones locker.
Well, maybe not, but well, you know...
Added to ZDGE at $5 and $4.75
Trimmed COST at $366- 5.74%
Trimmed EPD at $20- 13.20%
Added to PLTR at $25.50
After congress and all of the " important " people get it, plus health care providers and anyone associated with that, then critical workers, then finally us old folks- if theres vaccine left and if we havent died of covid or old age.
I'm very concerned about the outcome of TSLA entering the S&P today at the close. I'm afraid that the volatility of TSLA will have a negative effect on the S&P. Considering TSLA is at its high, its P/E is huge. Very disconcerting.
Added with a nibble to COST at 369.
Famous last words. Liking COST less and less.
I had evaluated Dells 3000 series laptop to the 5000 series and realized just how much more computational power the 5000 had over the 3000. The 11th gen I7 INTC chip in the 5000 clobbers the 10th gen I7 chip in the 3000. That combined with 4.3GHZ compared to 3.7GHZ clock speed and faster bus speeds, larger cache- 12 as compared to 8, faster memory speed- 3200ghz compared to 2666ghz, it was clearly a no brainer. ( which was very good for me considering my lack in that area )
So Novembers black Friday sale saw me purchasing 2 of these INTC/Dell monsters for my computing needs.
So much for AMD and TSM.
Further the fact that they both sported the same price ( though Dell came back at me and suggested if I buy the inferior product they'll discount it off the black Friday price by 7% ).
Nanometers being important to smaller devices and other applications, but in this particular instance more than adequate as compared to the INTC 3rd Gen I5's I'm replacing.
Trimmed AI at 120 from a cost of around 96.
Sellers regret since it's now at 127.
Oh well.
