Colectin' good to hear from you. Thanks for your comments. You have not been as vocal in the past few months.
I have owned shares here since Dec. 2008. My first shares were about 8 cents apiece, so not likely to sell share any time soon unless a huge appreciation would occur. In my opinion, Cheche, Storm, Remon, and Johl have been the contributors that I follow for their thoughtful substance that gets me to enter debates. I will also add that IR at Metatron has been very good about listening to ideas and responsive in many ways over that period. I think that MRNJ management is to be commended for working under less than ideal conditions with very limiting cash flow. Hopefully, things will turn around. I think that they may be battle-hardened, just my opinion, about press releases since they have had numerous set backs. I think the dating app and texting/messaging app will be worth the added patience and I agree with others that when these new apps get released by Apple it would be a prudent time for a new press release.
Three points. (1) As I recall, perhaps Storm can verify and provide the dates of posting, that the company originally blogged that "Blink" was a joint project with another entity and company would share in it. (2) It is a GOOD "fit" with the upcoming dating app that is before Apple for approval and (3) it has surely been updated and tinkered with to improve its use with other MRNJ products now and in the pipeline.
Makes sense geographically, good highways to both west or east Florida. I see Winn-Dixie in W. Fla., A potential good fit. They are relatively comparable in quality, in my opinion, having shopped both.
Storm, I thought that a blog about 2 months ago referenced this app as a collaborative app and there would be more "innovative" apps coming in future quarters, as I recall. At some point, they mentioned that they had received some earnest type money.
Storm, thanks for this review, it is very informative.
The only guess I could make is that it has to do with funding resources, I think that it would be worse to put out the App-flix app in a cheap way that would be doomed to failure. I guess that it is best to wait or not do it unless sufficient funding is available to do it in a way that will be financially rewarding in the end. I think it is a great name, and always have thought so...the trademark is a coup but it needs a cause now; do believe it has genuine intentions and promise if MRNJ can do it in a bold and impressive manner.
Thanks, Storm, always good to read of positive things, speaking of which, do you believe MRNJ has now submitted BLINK to Apple?
I'm just an average guy who is down on this investment about 85% if I were to sell today...not much incentive to sell ever facing the reality that most all has been lost so far. At such a point, one just stays in the game. No one is forcing the panic button here or EVER getting cheap shares from me, I will keep them until they are worthless and then take a tax deduction/ benefit, whatever. Meanwhile, I will watch and see how the fresh influx of $1 million is able to be a catalyst for growth.
Colectin...my message over the weekend from IR is that the SEC can wait 20 days or longer to make a decision or it can send it back to MRNJ for revisions or it can be rejected with no explanation. Based on this information, it seems that anything positive will take at least 3 weeks to know about. If it is rejected, perhaps we will know right away, meanwhile, as the recent blog indicated other financing is being sought. Probably prudent to seek other viable options for financing if this one does not get approved, and it might give the other possible interested financing parties cause to reconsider any terms if they want to be involved, knowing what is on the table. Probably when one loans the others ear perk up to see what it is all about, so the whole process could be more helpful than it appears. I guess that the Macallen group sees the potential here...no one casually invests $1 million dollars especially in this economic time when lenders are NOT interested in innovation but only the biggest and fastest returns.
The BIG rule in human dynamics is that "behavior is motivated"... do not expect a lot of altruism...if you notice a LOT of "behavior" then attribute it to motives and you will be fine.
Several things are unknown. I think it is good to go back and very carefully reread the recent blog about the financing deal. Surely, more will be known about the details when the SEC approves the deal. MRNJ has flexibility on when to issue stock to Macallen, so it seems would be an advantage to wait and do so if the stock goes up, etc. Therefore, I do not guess the deal will set a specific exchange ratio, otherwise I am not sure I understand the point. Therefore, not so sure that doing the "math" is relevant yet. Also, it is unknown to me if there will be a provision that allows the financing to be paid back alternately with money and not use stock or if a mix would be allowed. Keep in mind the blog post did say something about efforts are continuing on other financing deals. The fact that Macallen group is being flexible is a good sign, in my opinion, and may hint at its level of interest in what MRNJ is doing businesswise. They must want to be a large shareholder, at some level. It takes $$$ to make $$$.
I heard back from IR today that the deal has to be approved by the SEC and it can take them up to 20 days, as I recall.
Incorrectly stating there are 6 Billion share outstanding, which is untrue; actual is 600,000,000 = 600 million.
I am not surprised by today's announcement. The discussion board has discussed in recent months the prospects of raising the available shares. I think that selling $1 million worth of stock at one time makes more sense than just throwing it into the open market in much smaller parcels to pay costs. Financials show consistent quarterly growth. Expectations for App-Flix and Blink are still in the works and there are a few clients who are consistent money makers, etc. Before anyone would buy such a large stake in the company they would have to be impressed in some way and have some reassurance of prospects in the future. There is a lot more to learn about this development and how it will impact the company in so many aspects, so best not to jump to a lot of conclusions.
It is often necessary to sell stock to grow, is always dilutive to sell stock, but better than going out of business and all stock being worthless. Often companies sell stock to expand and later can amass capital and buy back shares, too. Better to have a part of something than to lose it all. I think this explains why we have not heard about AppFlix or Blink because it makes no sense to put out the good news before the bad news. Hopefully the long term projects will now be forthcoming without unknown delays. It is a VERY difficult environment for little companies to get financing and most people know that. For someone to put in a million dollar stake they are probably looking at the prospects for AppFlix, my opinion only. Good luck to Metatron, use the money prudently, and GROW!
Storm, please help, what is the purpose of this legal opinion to the OTC, what does it portend? If you happen to understand its intention please share what you are thinking. Thanks.
Thanks Storm for this reasonable approach to all the questioning. I rely on your insights more than anyone else's since I have been here longer than you and have been listening to your consistency for perhaps 3-4 years now. I trust you because you are capable of being balanced in your approach, being neither an uncompromising pumper or downer. Balance in any argument or forum of discussion suggests a more believable/trustworthy approach for me. Something that is all one-sided soon looks like it is promoting a certain agenda and that tends to diminish its credibility over time, in my opinion. Many thanks, again, Storm for your moderate approach and generous sharing of dd and insights!
I said look at the June 10, 2013 blog by the company which says the trademark is registered. I have a U.S. patent in my name, just so you know, so I have a bit of firsthand knowledge about the topic, generally speaking. Our company has a trademark or two, it is the best means to develop recognition in the marketplace and has worked wonderfully for us. I have been all through the process of meeting with a patent attorney and securing and defending a trademark. The Appflix trademark is registered when the objection is rectified/satisfied/placated, if it is not used commercially then it is considered an abandoned trademark registration and NOT an abandoned application. Storm assured everyone the other day that the trademark is not abandoned. Anyhow, this conversation is moot very soon, regardless of whomever dislikes that fact.
Read: June 10, 2013 company blog. The trademark for Appflix was granted. It is no longer an application in process. The present extension is for its USE. The argument that it is only an application ongoing does NOT make sense; why a NOA, "notice of abandonment of trademark" was issued if it is not yet a registered trademark? How can you abandon something you do not have???
AppFlix trademark was granted to MRNJ. It was objected to by Showtime ,which made an agreement with MRNJ as to its specific use, etc. It is no longer an application. What is needed now is for the trademark to be used, that is what the current extension is all about, the actual business use of the trademark, which is delayed by the delay in getting AppFlix out into the market. To state that the trademark Appflix is still in the application process is misleading and inaccurate.
Thanks, Storm.
Storm/everyone: I followed up on Hugie's post #45728...good find Hugie...I recommend everyone do what Hugie did, that is "google" AppFlix. Be sure to scroll way down the page to the recent months. It appears that the company was notified last August about filing a use statement on the trademark. I do not know exactly what that means, maybe Storm does...apparently an "abandonment of trademark" notice was sent out in March 2014 and the company apparently just responded to it for an extenstion to file the use statement, which was received by the Trademark office on Monday, April 21, 2014. What this means for using the trademark is uncertain to me. It is a legal question no doubt, since the trademark has not been used as a result of all the delays, looks like another glitch, what do others think? May explain the delayed launch of AppFlix? Storm, please write to the company about this, thanks.
I was just wondering if you or anyone knows what the terms of the "restrictions" are on the outstanding restricted shares?
My guess is that the news about many of those items will be addressed in a separate blog post. Sometimes, as you may recall, MRNJ will post 2 blogs in one day. There have not been any blog messages in several weeks, so they were probably focused on the harder tasks of long-term projects. There may be a reason they want to separate the messages, perhaps the intention is to help those receiving the messages to focus on specific content, such as day to day progress being made while the more demanding things are also being concurrently worked on. Also, the new blog would possibly indicate that they can now better focus on blog content again, having for a time put all their resources into getting more prioritized work done. It would not be surprising if another blog comes very soon or later today that will address some of those other long-ranging issues.
Hi Colectin, the old words of wisdom go like this, " no news is good news." Does anyone recall the words that have so often been quoted by Warren Buffet? i.e., goes something like, "...the stock market is the vehicle for transferring wealth from the impatient to the patient..."
Excellent find!
Storm, thanks for the clarity on rankings, very helpful.
It is a good chart at the end of your post and one that predicts that we will see a spike in the next leg/Q1, which I believe would be no surprise, since there is a 40-50 day delay in between the time when revenues are created and subsequently received at MRNJ from Apple. I would not be surprised if the company hints at Q1 results before long.
A substantial profit increase should help to lend credibility to the company's goal of securing some financing. It is organic growth and the sort of thing that a bank/loan provider/financing partner would like to see happening.
Colectin - I think it is easier for those of us who have been very patient for over 4 years to be more optimistic in lieu of our long-term investments here. If someone has no investment here then he/she is possibly more objective and critical, is my guess. However, I do believe in the power of positive thinking and I do like the thinking that MRNJ management often gives insights about. I appreciate the blogs and remember when there was a great sparcity of information. Despite the opportunities for negatively spinning the blogged information, it is a good opportunity nonetheless for long-term investors to keep abreast.
UPDATE on Blink, AppFlix to today's blog, "Blink and AppFlix are on track and will be released soon, but we don't have an exact date yet. They are the most complicated apps we have created so they are taking longer to develop than our normal media apps. Both will be released just like ETV, Zukav, and our 2000+ other apps. Apple will likely spend a lot of time reviewing Blink because of its encryption and security features."
It would be crazy to suspect that we will NOT see AppFlix or Blink. AppFlix was an expensive tradename, considering the filing fees and legal wrangling to pass through CBS Showtime's legal objection following its registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Not to mention, the profound value of the name, intrinsically, to not use it would be profoundly unimaginable. I am frequently encouraging them to "get it out". Additionally, to not put out Blink when it was contracted and part of a larger app deal would be VERY BAD business, to say the least. We will see Blink soon and then Appflix. Hopefully, they can get Blink done and to Apple this week as they have been striving to do.
"Correct me if I'm wrong...as far as Blink goes". Please note, I wrote to IR recently asking about Blink. IR wrote back on March 12, 2014 and stated, "...Blink is all in-house..." Also, here is a clarifying post from the MRNJ blog on November 26th, 2013: "Our app division i-Mobilize was contracted this week to develop a messaging service app similar to Snapchat but with a unique twist and advanced security features. Metatron will receive revenue share and a percentage ownership, and more apps being negotiated as part of a larger overall deal."
Thanks for the reminder, had forgotten about it. Sounds good.
BLINK - social media app, info to-date:

November 26th, 2013 MRNJ Blog stated, "Our app division i-Mobilize was contracted this week to develop a messaging service app similar to Snapchat but with a unique twist and advanced security features. Metatron will receive revenue share and a percentage ownership, and MORE APPS BEING NEGOTIATED AS PART OF A LARGER OVERALL DEAL."
2. December 18th, 2013 MRNJ Blog stated, "Development for our new social media and texting app code named, "Blink" is well underway and we estimate its release first quarter 2014."
3. December 31st, 2013 MRNJ Blog stated, "Our new social media "Blink" is about 50% done and on schedule."
4. February 17th, 2014 MRNJ Blog stated, "Blink (Social Media App): About 60% done with programming. Unlike Snapchat which was hacked recently, we will not be storing user data."
5. February 20th, 2014 MRNJ Blog stated, "We are about 60% done developing our own messaging app coming out code named "Blink" and it will be different than What's Up App in a number of ways, especially when it comes to security and privacy."
6. March 12th, 2014 MRNJ Blog stated, "Our social media/texting app code named "Blink" is about 75-80% done..."
Storm, did I miss something? Have you forcast the upcoming Q4/or 2013 annual report figures?? Quite curious what you are anticipating. Thanks.
Many either intentionally deny or fail to comprehend from a business perspective how exceptional the trademark AppFlix is and how lucky MRNJ has been to be granted that trademark and prevail after a challenge to it by CBS Showtime. It takes a couple years to be granted a trademark after filing an application for it to the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office, and then it was delayed 4-6 months due to the challenge. I think it was a GREAT achievement by MRNJ to set that up when they did, and the trademark has unknown intrinsic value, any savvy business person would admit. Who has a better trademark name in the app/digital niche? AppFlix is very simple and yet very self-explanatory. It should be very active, in my opinion, when it is launched after the company uses its refined PUSH technology to push it on their newly released Blink social media app AND using their successful client apps with PUSH, too; do not forget the hundreds of thousands of contacts accumulated in their PUSH-Ready file, that too, is an accumulative asset in this regard.
All good topics and important to eventually resolve, I doubt anyone would argue. I can't imagine why celebrities are NOT talking about their apps, unless they are somehow still clueless about the power of apps and their universal acceptance. What is the difference between promoting a book or an app that has the same content. It is frustrating that the apps are not talked about more and a marketing loss that is going over someone's radar unfortunately.
Thanks, Storm, for reposting the blog from last night, especially for highlighting in red the update on AppFlix, which I somehow missed when I read it last evening, but perhaps it was added since then, too, not sure. Anyway, good to see it blogged!
