Yeah, it means slowly but surely You should get excited, you stated many times that you were in to make money ! Love the thin ask ...
I would argue it's still a pretty sweet entry point. As soon as any significant news hits, this stock is going to take off. Many people believe this is one of these few OTC stocks that's worth investing in based on fundamentals alone, esp. if you can afford to hold for a while. Others you might want to look into if you are looking for long term bets are SPKL and PVHO.
Now this is just my opinion, you got to make up your own mind
I think today's action confirms what I was writing the other day, which is that the ask is very thin on this puppy. May be this is a sign of som good news coming soon ?
Hey Wadi, good to see you here Looks like with the news and the chart, some of the technical players are going to start coming back into this one ...
I like the last PR, looks like Laramie and his gang are indeed rolling up their sleeves and getting work done. Let's see how this pans out.
R* : there isn't much going on the board these days because there isn't a lot of new info to chew on and nobody is interested in discussing your pseudo-second-hand-street-rumors ...
Might have just been someone deciding to spend 50 bucks to try to spark a little interest since that 100 shares trade moved the pps up almost 10%. I'm sure this is going to start moving nicely as soon as we get some good news ... Just a little more (weeks, months ?) patience
LOL Can you say 'volume' ?!?!
Doesn't seem like there are many sellers too at the current prices, so that means we've probably bottomed ... Looking forward to the ride back up, which will hopefully be quick and strong
Good points ... the bottom line is that you can never know, but I do feel like SPKL is a risk worth taking overall (particularly at these current levels) if you can afford it.
New 8K out: http://ir.hanabiosciences.com/secfiling.cfm?filingid=1144204-10-50377
Some changes in earlier licensing agreements: anybody has an opinion on possible effect short and long term ?
Add to that the background of the new CEO: http://www.spicypickle.com/bios.html If Laramie is half as capable as his past experience suggests, SPKL could end up being an incredibly rewarding stock in the next couple of years. But you have to be patient, and there is always some amount of uncertainty involved. As mentioned earlier the current pps should be a good entry point, but the ask seems to be thin in general, so any kind of real interest volume-wise should drive this back up pretty quickly (in other words, I don't think anybody would be able to accumulate more than a couple hundred thousand shares at these levels, after that you'll have to pay substantially more ...).
Again, this is my own opinion and I'm far from being an expert
GLTA!
I would start by reading the latest SEC filings, including the letter to shareholders from the new CEO. From there on it's a bit of a waiting game for the next 6 to 12 months: some of us think that the new management team can and will turn things around, others doubt it (but still think the pps will be pumped up from current levels to that options can be exercised by management with benefits). So I would think that in any case the current level is a great entry point, but don't take my word for it and form your own opinion.
GLTY
Yep, the ask looks like it could be pretty thin back to 20+ cents ... We just need a few pieces of good news to move that baby back where it belongs
That's the thing, with the complete lack of volume it's actually pretty easy to play with the pps. Some of the pro day traders out there sometimes take advantage of this to keep hammering the price down to try to create a psychological cascading effect to discourage other shareholders and get them to sell.
For example right now for SPKL, the ask is 5 cents and the bid is 4.5 cents: you could enter a sell order for 4.6 cents and then enter a buy order at that price (from 2 different accounts, but you might not even need 2 accounts). All of a sudden it looks like SPKL went down another 8%, even if you just spent 20 bucks (including your trade fees) ... If you are the guy sitting at 4.5 cents with a large buy order, you stand a good chance to get one or more people to decide to throw the towel and get out. It's a pretty common tactic and it does work. Add to this posting negative crap day in and day out on the boards where the stock is being discussed, and you can get some traction.
You might be doing this because you want in at a low price (like our friend R* ), or because you are shorting, or whatever your motives actually are to see the price going down. There is a decent chance the pps could climb back up to 12 or 15 cents very quickly on good news, so if you have been accumulating in the 4 to 6 cents range, you stand to pocket some nice change.
I would actually buy right now if I had some free cash, which I don't ... My average is pretty low anyway, and I think that even if Laramie ends up being pretty inept at turning things around, he'll probably drive the price back up at some point to take advantage of the shitload of options he has at 6 cents ... And there is also the possibility that he is the real deal and that he can turn this thing around, but that is a gamble as usual ...
Welcome to the board, and thanks for the info about the Houston franchisee. I think you're not the only one who has started accumulating at the current levels, as you mentioned there is a good chance these will net you some green ...
Why do you think the current team is unfocused strategically and why do you think the plan they unveiled recently might not work ?
I don't mind paying management big bucks if they deliver. You have to decide if you still believe in the potential or not. If you don't, then maybe you should take your losses (or a part of them to offset gains you might have made on other stocks) and move on. Or you could decide that you are ready to stick with SPKL no matter what if your residual value is kind of low anyway.
There is no way to tell for sure which way this is going, but I've decided to stick around see what Laramie will deliver in the next 6 to 12 months.
Well we know what the current situation is (as per last 10Q) and the plan the new management team is working on (as per Laramie's letter). I guess most people feel like there isn't that much more relevant material to discuss at this point ... We need to give the new team a couple of quarters to see if they seem capable to re-start the growth and profit engine. Laramie also indicated they are looking to hire a new IR/PR firm, so we might expect more communication at some point, which should help increase interest.
Great news today about the partnership with ARG Manufacturing ! Their website is here for those interested in checking them out: http://www.argmfg.com/ These guys seem to have extensive experience manufacturing that type of products ... Can you imagine if we started to see the g-Spout on the shelves of Bed Bath & Beyond or Target for instance ?
There is nothing wrong in wanting to make money, that's why we are all here for. The problem is how you get there ... I know your methods are common practice, it doesn't mean they are right and I don't think this board will tolerate them.
You'd get much more respect if you came out clean and just say what your game plan is. It's OK to short a stock for instance, it's part of the game and allowed by the rules. Or to hope to get in or accumulate at a lower price. Just be straight and stick to facts.
Your mostly meaningless comment about P&L was made several times already, those who think it means something saw it, so you can stop regurgitating it every other post too. Feel free to enlighten us with new information any time though ...
Do you have links to reliable sources corroborating your allegations ? You need to be careful about statements like the ones you are making unless you feel confident you can provide substantial evidence to back them up. False and malicious publication printed for the purpose of defaming a living person is called libel and can land you in hot waters.
You're on nobody's side except your own and all of us who had to bear with you for the past 4 weeks know that.
Exactly, those 'trading buddies' who claim to be on 'the same side' when they show up out of nowhere and start spreading Fear Uncertainty and Doubt under the pretense of wanting to help are just doing one thing: helping themselves reach whatever questionable goals they have in mind.
By th way thanks for the link Aston, that was interesting and I hadn't seen it before.
Well you are a little too consistently negative (and as I mentioned before your alias was created July 13 and been used only to post negative information on this board) to be taken at face value ... I do not think that you are honest with your intentions. This is not a personal attack, just stating a fact, so please do not report that post to try to get it removed, because I will follow-up with Ihub admins this time.
Unless you control a large portion of the shares there is nothing you can do about Laramie's stock grants, and overall it is still in his interest to help rebuild the share price in the long term anyway.
We would just appreciate it if you could contribute actual facts and/or interesting comments as opposed to vaguely threatening statements (hey what's going on with all that research work of yours about the shady past of Geman and Laramie btw ???) ...
Can't believe nobody mentioned the latest 10Q was filed yesterday
http://www.otcmarkets.com/edgar/GetFilingHtml?FilingID=7410161
Nothing that we did not know at this juncture for those of us who have been following what's going on. There is the mention of a test Spicy Pickle unit in Australia which I thought was interesting. I guess the next 6 months or so will tell us if Laramie and his new team can effectively implement the changes and initiatives they described in the recent letter to shareholders.
The only thing that bothers me a tad is to read things like "...Many of these factors are beyond our control...." when mentioning the economic downturn and related customer spending curtailing which management is saying is the main reason for lack luster performance: well in the same period, Panera Bread Reports Q2 2010 diluted EPS of $0.85, up 31% over Q2 2009, on 9.9% Growth in System-Wide Comparable Bakery-Cafe Sales. And guess what, they're smack in the same market segment we are. So stop whining, roll-up your sleeves Mark and get that puppy going will you ?
Plus if you actually read the other entries by the same author on that blog, you will see that back in February of this year (and as recently as June 14), he was ecstatic about the prospects of TSHO (with a 'conservative' estimate of $10 per share at some point ...). All of a sudden he started to call TSHO a Pump'nDump scheme ... Not exactly consistent.
And the company hasn't even done much in terms of communication yet, hopefully once the fwd split date gets closer they'll crank-up the PR channels to let everybody know and re-iterate their acquisition plans ... As you guys wrote a few times before all this baby needs is a bit of exposure and several days of solid volume ...
Good to have you back Maone Looking forward to the updates you will be providing ...
Yep, I'm disappointed with this 10-Q. I'm going to wait things out a bit longer, see what kind of turn-around plans the new management team has to offer.
I think Geman gave all he could, but something was missing to help reach critical mass. At this point, I still think there is a good concept and I've had a couple of people I know try out their menus in Cincinnati (I hope to be able to do that personally in the near future), and got very positive reviews: their sandwiches and pizzas are actually delicious.
So there is good concept, a solid infrastructure to manage the franchise system, maybe they just need to crank up the marketing. Given the background of the new team, they might be able to find the missing ingredients to make this a success ...
HNAB getting some traction in the past couple of days. Epic, would you update your annotated chart (http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=45517793) and tell us what you think ?
Anybody willing to do a quick analysis of HNAB ? Been moving lately, I'd like to know if some of you guys have an opinion on this one. Thanks
Hey bourbon, sorry I can't do private replies (one day I will end up forking out the cash though ), but I wanted to say that I agree with what you wrote ...
Well unless I'm missing something, one thing that's not hard to interpret is that line (in the 'Additional Issuance of Common Stock' section of item 5) :
At March 31, 2010, the Company had 47,712,957 shares of common stock issued and outstanding.
That's compared to 24,471,035 shares outstanding on December 31 2009, so pretty much 100% increase.
In addition, they have a bunch of litigation pending which tend to show they are not paying their bills (see Item 3. Legal Proceedings), and sales that have decreased 50% in 2009, while their operational losses increased 80% (they lost $4,907,434 in 2009 vs $2,451,706 in 2008).
I have a lot of respect for Tec and Epic, but I'm starting to think this one might never make it to the 'great calls' list Unless you're committed to remain invested in this for the long term, and somehow the management team ends up turning things around ... One strategy could be to keep averaging down and hope for a few upbeat PRs to get out even or with a slight loss. Another would be to just bite the bullet and take the hit to move on
I'd be interested in reading what you guys think ...
RHIE could offer interesting opportunities today. Had a nice day yesterday (+120%) and positive news keep coming out.
Some news out today: http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/globenewswire/187692.htm
Sorry just noticed someone already posted the info ... feel free to delete my post
SPKL news out: http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/marketwire/0598852.htm
If I recall correctly, some of the people on this board are following Spicy Pickles ...
One item that looks promising on that 10-K is on p17 where they mention that " ...Through December 31, 2009, we have signed agreements with franchisees to open 59 additional restaurants under the Spicy Pickle Brand. "
Of course there is no guarantee all of these agreements will pan out, but even if just 40 of these open in 2010, that puts us in the low-end of the break-even range (75 to 100 restaurants) that had been mentioned by management before. And that's w/o the bakeries.

Is this a crew play ?
I have only 17K shares of WAMUQ, but if you are correct and we settle for $30 a share, that's going to put me in a-whole-nother bankroll management pickle ... But hey, that's a problem I'd like to have
Tec, Epic, I think someone is just messing with you on ICNB Can't wait for that baby to get going though ...
