Two free programs you can download online and install on your computer to limit the amount of blue light, and vary colors on your screens in order to ease eyestrain are IRIS and f.lux -- I don't have links so just google them. I have been using f.lux for ages now and it has eliminated the burning from dry-eye due to too much time spent staring at computer screens. Windows 10 also offers its own version, called Nightlight or something like that, preloaded but I have never used it. Good luck.

That's a matter of opinion and unless you would like to share your reasoning leading to that conclusion, I will merely repeat what I replied to your negative post on the GE board -- one man's poison is another man's meat!

Wow, that's weird. Not the same problem I had, but you can check in Settings to see if that KB was downloaded without your knowledge and is now causing the problem, in which case you can do what I outlined in the previous msg to alleviate the problem at least temporarily.
Newly
KB4556799 is not a security fix, it is a feature update. I only have one computer running Win10, the other runs WinXP (which I love) so wasn't affected (rarely go online with that computer but use it for watching TV and other things that don't require being connected to the internet).
I think the problems that KB is causing are due to it messing with the drivers of various programs, not sure. I do not disable any virus stuff when updating. I run no virus software except windows defender and have never had a problem, but then I don't cruise porn sites or anything like that, where the viruses are often contracted, LOL. Anyway, at this point all's well. . .for now at least!
Newly
Well, still having some issues with this KB4556799 so uninstalled it yet again, did a recovery to the previous version of Win10, then downloaded the wushowhide app from your link, and blocked that KB from reloading. Just for good measure I then paused updates for 35 days. I suppose this may just be delaying the inevitable, but MS leaves me little choice! I've noticed there are options in those links you provided for stopping updating altogether but I'm not prepared to go that far just yet. . .
Newly
I shut down my computer each night. This morning when I fired up it once again downloaded KB4556799, the problem update. Obviously MS has tweaked it because now when it loads it changes the names of many files. So far it seems to have solved the problems I had with the first download. If I discover any further problems today, I will once again recover to a previous version at bedtime and let it run overnight. Then I will download the MS tool to hide/block that update (don't really want to do this as it may create additional problems). So far so good. . .
Newly
He/she/it has spammed me via PM in the past, too.

Thanks for those links, Zorax. Read them all. Seems windows features updates cannot be stopped from installing but once the update is uninstalled it can be blocked from reinstalling using the tool MS offers to hide/block it. As you note, security updates cannot be blocked.
It certainly is annoying that Windows10 takes away so much control of our own computers. May be times to move to another OS. . .
BTW, I don't understand a lot about how MS spies on us, but I keep nothing on my computer of a personal nature that I don't want viewed by "outsiders" and I would never use any sort of "cloud" to store my stuff. All work I do in Win10 I backup to a thumb every day and store it apart from the computer. Don't really know if that helps, but makes me feel a bit more secure.
Newly
I have my system set up to not install these updates automatically, but to ask me first. I can't remember how I set this up, but perhaps, like you, I am simply delaying the installation of these updates, I'm not sure.
Yes, I also am running some programs MS didn't like, so I installed them working in DOS (these are very old programs from back in the 80's and 90's that I have used for years with accumulated data I don't want to lose, such as Quicken 1 and 2, and DB3) and they run just fine. I learned DOS on my first computer back in the 80's but have forgotten a lot of it now.
Luckily my system is back to normal after doing a "reset to a previous version" in Recovery, but I'd still like to find out how to choose which updates to install from the lists I get rather than only "all or none" as it is now. Let me know if you find out anything. TIA
Newly
Thanks for posting that. I wasn't sure whether it was just my system or the update causing everyone problems. I had used the "uninstall latest update" in Settings, and it deleted the update but left the problems the update caused, which led to my nearly killing my entire system trying to get back to a workable point.
Thankfully after struggling with various apps and the display for a couple of days, I followed the directions in the article you posted and now my system is back to normal.
When I first ran the "go back to previous version" my computer got to a point where it continually recycled on a blue screen even though it said the scanning and repair of C: drive was 100% complete. I left it overnight to see if it would finish, but this morning it was still cycling endlessly so I decided to shut down and if it didn't return to normal on reboot, I would try the Recovery thumb which I made when I first got this computer. So I fired up again and my system came up normally. Thankfully I didn't need to go to the Recovery thumb or reinstall all my apps. All's well now. . .

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the latest feature update to Win10, KB4556799. It messed up some of my apps so badly I ended up uninstalling it, although many of the changes it made to my system did not change back to what they were before.
Anyway, what I'd like to know is when notifications tells me there are updates available, usually there is a list of several (I have my computer set to notify me before downloading anything) and I'm wondering if there is a way to choose which ones I do not wish to download, and which I do. TIA to anyone who knows. . .
BTW has anyone else had problems with KB4556799? Among other things it really messed up my f.lux program badly.

Morning, Dave. Every time I change boards on Ihub todayI am getting an Error523 Origin is Unreacheable (Host Error). I have to reload 2 or 3 times to access the page no matter what browser I use. Is it just me or are others having this problem? TIA

I'm sorry to hear that, I-Man. I have not experienced any questionable practices with TDA personally.
Newly
Seems farfetched, but I suppose anything is possible.
Newly
I trade both TDA's thinkorswim platform and TradeStation's platform. In an effort to zero in on why your CLF Daily Open-High-Low-Close data from TDA vary from mine from TS, I went back to the charts and listed O-H-L-C for each day from 4-1 to 4-17 for each platform. The results were identical -- that is, both platforms listed exactly the same data. So, it isn't a problem of one of the data feeds being faulty, and I am at a loss to understand why the data you posted is different to what is on my TDA and TS charts.
Newly
Morning I-Man. This is so strange. Here is the same data from the TradeStation Daily:
My TS Data
4/3 Open 3.66 High 3.89 Low 3.62
4/6 Open 3.97 High 4.15 Low 3.88
Your TDAmeritrade Data
4/3 Open 372 High 3.76 Low 3.66
4/6 Open 3.97 High 4.06 Low 3.95
I wonder if the difference is due to your using a 5-Day chart instead of a Daily or if one of us has a faulty feed?
Can any other chart-readers here post the data your feed is showing for these dates for comparison? TIA
Have you tried starting in Safe Mode?

Of course, provided you have accounts at both brokerages. However, you will end up long in the original account and short in the second account. This in effects gives you a neutral position in the stock. Eventually you will need to cover the short in the second account and sell the shares in the original account perhaps at different times depending on which way the stock price is moving.

Best, most comprehensive book I've read on options trading is "trade options online" by George A. Fontanills of optionetics.com.
For a simple explanation of options trading read Lee Malone's Options Education thread here

Very informative thread and makes option trading easy to understand.
IMO best platform for trading options is TradeStation although I am sure there are other good ones out there. . .
Good luck.

That chart is from TradeStation, but I also have thinkorswim (TDA's platform) and the price feed there is the same prices as TS.
