whatever hauppened to MasteryTV?
thought that might put SpragueXcess over the top!
"The troll at the toll"
i thought client-side hardware security was the "toll booth?" at least i recall SKS preaching it that way again & again & again.
of course that was before they wrote-off the entire inventory for the Embassy line of failed products...
good point Thig,
wavx already took his shirt!
never mind that the Emperor (&/or his son) aren't wearing a stitch of clothing!
odds? about 1000:1 / oem
disingenuous?
as appreciative as i may be that you consider me "smarted [sic] than" you, i tend to believe that it was nothing more than a change in wavoid tactics.
unless of course you really are selling the hundreds of thousands of under-water wavx shares you are holding. in such a scenario, of course i would immediately retract my prior statements & offer absolute contrition for what would have been my mistaken belief that you might be willing to deliberately post falsities to protect those holdings.
looking forward to yer disclosure of dumping wavx.
ciao!
PS we should prolly take this exchange to PM to a_void any TOU violations -- tia!
that appears to be a "personal attack"
which would have certainly been far more effective if it stated "...too smart," instead of "...to [sic] smart."
had you done SO, wavx'd prolly be flirting w/a buck...
or not.
nice snooze today - sell one KTM thingy & double the Q-to-Q revs!!
define "network" Snackman
how many computers have to be tethered together before it reaches some magical threshold?
if i have three connected/shared pcs via ethernet & a router does that a network make?
how bout a small business w/a 40-50 node environment?
how bout a medium to larger business (let's say truck rentals with multiple locations a hundred or more pcs inter-connected?
how bout a large university w/a few thousand nodes?
or maybe an international banking firm w/tens of thousands?
& BTW, hasn't IBM been selling TPM-enabled systems for well over a year? didn't Wave announce something or other about ETS & IBM more than a year ago?
thought there were already gobs & gobs of networks up & running...
voids are running out of excuses faster than Wave is running out of cash & days before a delisting notice.
please define this magical network that is supposedly the condition precedent du jour for world dominion & incredible & imminent wavoid wealth.
thanks!
PS KeV - my purple Wave curly pencil may soon be available on e-bay as an attempt to generate some revs from a Wave product.
Doma (& any other wavoid)
have you purchased any of Wave's Great Stuff?
if so, is it working well?
what cool things can you do w/it?
do you know if Wave has yet implemented any of this Great Stuff @ any of their "offices"?
it's always been suspect IMO when people post on & on & on about the amazing Holy Grail of technology, but nobody ever seems to post anything about actually using (let alone buying) any of this Great Stuff?
guess it all depends on one's perspective...
egg-zackly.
good point!
It's truly repulsive to see how low people will stoop to try to make a buck.
how low must one go for $260M?
goindown:
maybe it isn't HhH's humor that has waned.
maybe you & other voids have become more & more sullen, defensive & paranoid as wavx does its delisting dance?
just maybe...
have you asked him?
Matt can confirm this, but obviously he prefers not to.
heeyoog news - Wave has an 800 number!
might be good fer a ten cent pop - or not.
just watch the volume folks...
no way will wavx trade south of a buck for another 13 days.
unless of course it does.
WHO is Nous?
http://www.nousmodels.com/models.html
same PH photo on this agency's page as bparlett's "Dish" magazine article... (the same article that claimed Nicky Hilton was 15 years old in paragraph one).
anybody notice how they removed the word exclusive from the description of their "relationship" with Hilton in the latest Q?
Nous is also HQed in LA -- looks like they don't even have an exclusive w/Hilton in their own town.
WTF?
Baghdad Barge!
GLOBALWAVE TEAMS UP WITH FANTASTIC TO BROADCAST DIGITAL MEDIA TO EUROPE
Revolutionary broadband e-commerce system to deliver entertainment, education and information to consumer and business markets
CANNES, FRANCE - February 12, 2001 - Milia 2001 - GlobalWave, the leading provider of market-leading solutions for the secure distribution of rich digital content, today announced a partnership with Fantastic Corporation, the leading provider of software for integrated broadcast communications solutions. The deal brings together GlobalWave's secure broadband e-commerce technology and Fantastic's ability to provide simultaneous delivery of high volumes of information across any infrastructure to any IP enabled device. GlobalWave's end-to-end data broadcasting solution, marketed as Wavecast, enables the delivery of rich multimedia on flexible payment models to consumers and business markets in Europe.
The partnership with Fantastic [was] part of GlobalWave's strategy to facilitate the delivery of broadband multimedia content including games, software, music, movies, sports and news, to PCs and set-top-boxes, using any channel including satellite, terrestrial and cable to reach a wider consumer audience. This means content owners and digital publishers can easily and quickly create and manage incremental digital sales and marketing channels without high investment in digital equipment.
Wavecast [was] built on an open platform, enabling content providers and broadcasters to securely deliver digital content to any GlobalWave enabled device. Digital content can be made available on flexible payment models e.g.pay-per-view, pay-per-play and pay-per-track. Using a hardware based e-wallet, transactions are securely executed both online and offline at the user's device. GlobalWave's back office is capable of handling the digital rights purchases and licenses on behalf of content providers and broadcasters, tracking usage and ensuring everyone gets paid. This secure, flexible payment model is made possible by Wave Systems' (NASDAQ: WAVX) EMBASSY® technology, which provides a multi-party trust environment enabling mass media data broadcast, content protection and a fully distribution e-commerce transaction engine.
Combined with Fantastic's technology, the WavecCast solution, developed by GlobalWave, moves away from the traditional ‘pay then distribute model' of digital content delivery employed by the Internet, to a new ‘distribute then pay' model, whereby a vast array of multimedia is broadcast on a regular basis to the end user, who then has the opportunity to select entertainment, education or information on a flexible or micro payment basis.
Ian Martin, chief executive officer, GlobalWave, says: "It's important that Wavecast is flexible enough to meet the differing needs of content providers and broadcasters. Partnering with Fantastic means our solution will be supported by a very strong delivery capability, enabling the fast, secure, direct delivery of our customers' content to a mass audience."
Paul Green, managing director of Fantastic (UK) Limited, comments: "We're committed to supporting the growth of businesses with a vision for using broadcast-quality content in a new and exciting way. We are currently building key strategic relationships both in the UK and worldwide to help media-rich companies facilitate the application of digital delivery solutions such as Wavecast."

sublime, make mine diamondiferous - i have some ceramic tile to drill through tomorrow!
apparently Trippi finally found the time to review his brokerage statements & discern whether he still owns any wavx.
interesting that after reportedly receiving some $8M in fees from the Dean campaign, he didn't renew his faith in wavx & buy some "cheap" shares.
also surprising that SKS "didn't see any upside" (per Collins) to being quoted on page 1 of the NYT biz section.
maybe the wavoid SPAM campaign of Congress should include the link to this article in the spirit of "equal time."

free ink is good ink . . . right?
the whole "deleated" thing could be construed as a violation of the your/you're doctrine.
it could also be you've exceeded the internationally recognized word limit for a readable post?
HBG might wanna tweak that approach?
calling Matt a "whore" (cheap, expensive or otherwise) might not be construed as diplomatic.
you previously referred to Matt's post to barge as obsequious & then it morphed into "boot licking"?!?
(though it did open the door for Chowd's KK rejoinder!)
also, be aware that i PMed Matt on yer behalf & informed him of how polite of a poster you had been in the past. your recent spate of obtuse posts & name calling doesn't really fit w/yer posting history & only exacerbates the sitchy IMO.
Chowd - who's looking for a Nobel? Phil adequately addressed the issue IMO & note that you acknowledged that you typically find the critic to be more right than wrong. who cares what HhH's posting motives are? he obviously has talent & intellect & writes things worth reading.
ain't that what message boards are all about?
btw, not everyone can be a Zeev or an Omni...
edit: don't disagree, but most wavoids are pathologically obsessed w/Wave & go to great lengths to control the discussion.
given that the wavx thread is consistently one of the most read boards on iHub, it would seem akin to a TV network & a highly rated program. A hypothetical network exec wouldn't simply ignore one of the more entertaining actors on such a show & HhH definitely adds value to all things Wave.
but you are right, there's a lot more to iHub than any particular cultish stock (be it wavx, cmkx, qbid, or whatever).
edit: fwiw, HhH is very astute w/financial analysis, i've actually learned quite a bit from his serious posts.
yeah Chowd, but when Matt asked if he wanted out, he replied that it depended on the conditions.
the thread ended there -- if Matt responded that HhH could never again post on wavx (for example) why would he want to agree to that restriction?
there's gotta be some middle ground. Matt could restrict HhH from posting anything directly to Snack (& vice versa) b/c so much of the friction was a pissing contest between those two & it takes two to tango.
meanwhile, Snackman has run roughshod over the rules of iHub, but he is popular among the wavoids & well, howeird ain't.
i don't think the answer is that easy...
& i'm sorta surprised to see you reach that conclusion so quickly (especially noting some of your past detailed analysis on other stuff).
Matt has more integrity than you might believe & tend to think he would release Howie w/some well defined terms & conditions. it has become very obvious to many iHubbers who are not part of the wavoid world that Snack has massively deviated from the proper function of a "moderator."
it is *very* possible IMO that the more frothy wavoids spammed Matt's PM box relentlessly to get HhH effectively banned. right now they're fomenting plans to do a spam campaign to Congress, so why wouldn't they innundate Matt w/pleas to keep howeird off the wavx thread?
& look how determined some of them have been to "prove" that you & he are the same person in the "meat world" (complete nonsense IMO). Matt's good at bouncing double-alias posters & if you & he were the same guy, he woulda sussed that out a long time ago IMO.
wouldn't surprise me at all if Matt released HhH, assuming of course, HhH offered some contrition & a promise to stay 100% w/in the TOU.
it would also serve to bolster iHub's overall credibility in a big way IMO.
regards.
Hey EZ
didya see that HYTT (now IVHG) is completing the combination w/Robtotic Workspace Tech?
Nielson is out as CEO (but still on BofD) & the head of RWT Walter Weisel (nice name, huh?) is new CEO & Chairman & it looks like they have caught up on their outstanding SEC filings.
also, in a recent PR they included weComm in the headline as part of the newly-minted Innova Group Holdings.
FYI & FWIW...
why should HhH's release be contingent on Snackman moving to another board?!? Geez Howie - you've been in here for something like 8 months, doesn't seem like the punishment zackly fits the "crime."
Matt could give you a 1 month limited parole of 3 posts/day & you should be allowed to post on wavx. if you abided by the terms of parol you should be allowed 18/day.
Snack & a few others should learn to live w/dissenting opinions instead of clicking the delete button with reckless abandon, especially if Wave is going to dominate the world in just a few Qs as some of them claim.
it would seem the stock should be able to withstand a few critics if it is everything wavoids claim.
100% JMO.
just replied to you over there...
the info box for that thread expressly states:
What this board is all about:
This board is intended to discuss any company active in the Trusted Computing space. Company specific administrative issues should be posted on the respective stock boards.
--------------------------------------------------------
meanwhile, Snackman posted this today:
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=3851371
For those of you that would like a noise free board with discussion of Wave Systems, there is such a board at http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=2265
The only catch is that you have to step up and pay a couple of bucks to be a paid member so that you can post. Other than that, everyone is able to read everything there without being a paid member.
With the investment you have in Wave, isn't it worth a few bucks to have a place to talk about Wave without all the noise?
Check out this board. (Link above) and I am sure that you will be pleased with the quality and civility of the posters on that board.
Disclaimer: This is strictly my own input and no one is compensating me anything for letting you know about this board. In fact, no one asked me to post this. I did it all on my own.
--------------------------------------------------------
almost every post on this supposed "Trusted Computing" thread is specifically about Wave - thinly veiled private clubhouse IMO.
AND, the wavoids already have TWO other totally controlled pro-wavx threads -- one on RB and another completely private thread managed by one of the wavoids.
how many controlled boards do they really need?
i'm not one of the monitors Chowd.
guys like greg_s & burp have seen it first hand -- there are spates where almost anything critical of the Company &/or its nepotistic management gets deleted irrespective of the TOU.
there is also an obvious double standard on that board that gives wide latitude to the interpretation of the TOU as it relates to "wavoids" (longs) versus a draconian approach to any critic's posts.
as for the 1st Amendment, there's no "state actor" involved, so i don't see any Constitutional issue either, but recognize how most people have an intrinsic belief that freedom of speech on message boards is quasi-sacred.
if your approach to moderating was employed ("... for the most part I kept my own feelings out of it."), there would be no measurable censorship problem on the wavx thread.
the problem is that the exact opposite of your approach is employed there (IMO).
regards.
PS "Drain bammage." LOL.
let me re-phrase that:
any suggestions on how to reduce the censorship on the wavx board?
some of you here know exactly what i'm posting about.
you are so right Chowder.
starkravenmad is pure 5150 & claims in his profile that his hobbies include "...uncovering scams fore [sic] the FBI," meanwhile he is a CMKX zealot.
he once posted to me that he suffered some sort of brain injury when he was younger after being hit in the head w/a bat!
he needs a little help.
the entire *context* was about what you characterized as "grassroots silliness."
my response was to Katmai's position that if any such "silliness" entailed plugging Wave, that s/he would perceive it as unethical (to which i agree).
i provided links to the original promotion of the "silliness" including the proposed articles to send to the Hill.
as i've already answered yer "serious" inquiry as posed in hypothetical form re Lark Allen speaking @ a conference, i would surmise that you are quite capable of extrapolating that to the Berger article & discerning what my views are of his article, as opposed to my views of using that article as some sort of purportedly objective & credible support for the wavoid spam campaign.
it is "sneaky" IMO to spam Congress w/supposedly non-biased third-party articles that in fact "plug" Wave, albeit in a somewhat subtle fashion.
i have no problem w/Berger's article in and of itself...
regards.
24, if i was answering yer Q in a vacuum, i would respond no. Lark Allen giving a speech @ a conference without identifying his connection to Wave would not necessarily be unethical IMO.
howiever, despite the sophistry, the context was with respect to a wavoid spam campaign to reps & senators (both categories are "Congress" btw, as i'm sure you already know!) & then follow-up w/links to articles, ostensibly non-biased discussions of TC in general.
but lo & behold, the CyberDefense mag article sneaks in a little "plug" for Wave...
you mean like this?
Where is the disclosure that Berger is a Wave employee?
sneaky IMO.

Great Stuff for all you "contrarians"
stockta.com has taken the wavx intermediate rating down from "bearish" to "very bearish."

must be a bottom... right?
yep, no initiative -- missed that 400 e-mails per day claim.
how many of those 400/day are from wavoids & how many are from "customers"?
Snack -- how do you know how many e-mails SKS gets?
tia!
it was an error.
a freudian slip i s'pose cuz i'm expecting to see some significant insider selling (assuming of course that those insiders file form 4s).
SO, was this?
"But consider it in your bet interest to leave me out of it."
Zen - i'm here till the end baby, which appears to be much sooner than some think.
100% JMO!
guvna - re thinly veiled spin
if the NSM bundling deal being unwound was such a great thing for Wave as a few voids recently proclaimed (speciously IMO), why didn't Wave trumpet the "news" & why did SKS a_void it during the CC?
if this supposed 4x the money for the same amount of work version is to be believed, then why was it swept under the rug until the noted Wave gadfly 5par posted it on yahoo! & then Doma brought it over here for consumption?
why was Wave's communication on this issue: 1) buried in 10Q discussion; and 2) an after-the-fact e-mail reply from SKS espousing the 4x the money for the same amount of work theory.
reminds me of the infamous breakeven stevenspeak claiming Wave would be at or near breakeven by mid to late 2004 (which was then redefinied as generating revs equal to the then current burn rate, w/substantially increased expenses by the time that cash-flow was generated).
it is "mid to late 2004" right now & Wave generated a whopping $6k -- no room to weasel outta that one!
Snack likes to post "watch the volume," but when the really big volume does come, it just might be too late to salvage much if anything & some voids seem to think it is a badge of honor if they lose it all... all in the name of Sprague.
good luck!
OT: thanks for the re-post of a post from 3 months ago citing a post from 9 months ago...
that's closing *bid* shute, not closing price...
looks like wavx will begin day 12 (of 30) in less than 15 hours:
http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.web?c=WAVX,uu[l,a]daclyyay[da][pb50!b200][vc60][iUp14,3,3!La12...
Naz notice should arrive in < 1 month (09/13/04) & given Wave's baggage (most notably having been delisted once before, SEC investigation, double digit class actions & derivatives & no measurable business being conducted), NASD might not be too sympathetic to Wave's appeal.
also, the if-come of the warrants may never arrive & if Wave doesn't dump the remainder of the SSPX soon, they'll prolly be shopping for a new loan shark this Q.
there might be another P&D coming to (attempt to) prevent delisting in the near term & could be a good trade for people willing to swallow the immense risk & willing to "invest" in that manner.
but you *still* have the Berlin listing out there & that loophole could become a big P&D problem if there is (as opposed to was) naked shorting.
good luck!
