As a note, the PR of 22 December talked about the analysis of the first part of the drill core by Acme labs in Vancouver. Sharp investors doing their due diligence may have noticed that the PR of yesterday mentions that ACTLABS (in Toronto) is doing the analysis of the remaining core. That was another piece of NEW news in the PR that may have been missed by those claiming "nothing new." It might also explain why this is taking longer - different lab. We can all guess back and forth why they are using a different lab. If you go to Acme Labs website, they have a location in Vancouver and one in Chile. If you go to ActLabs, you see they are EVERYWHERE, Africa, Australia, South America, Asia, North America... Looks like a bigger lab, more resources and a global player.
So you have - improved law firm, more claims staked, IR Firm coming on, uplisting on the horizon, statement that those eligible will get their BVIG shares (I'm not one of them, came in too late), a bigger lab doing the analysis. Doesn't sound like they are messing around.
Results needed for sure but enough of the suspicion, suspicion, suspicion.
Thanks for the answer and your thoughts. It did help.
I guess we will see. Anything could happen, really.
NERVOUS LONGS. Hopefully the PR has done enough to help assuage the nervousness of some longs. If some bought when this stock was up in the .10s or .20s and they didn't bail when it hit the .02s, I am wondering how many of them would bail NOW when it is starting to go back up and is around the .05s. Maybe some will decide to cut their losses at this point if they think this is as good as it gets or if they want to re-enter at a lower level. Maybe longs will hold their shares and even buy more.
FLIPPERS. Perhaps the prospect of future results will keep some "flippers" in the game. Even if they got in thinking to play it VERY short, some things in the PR might get them to stick around a little. Maybe not. I am not good at the flipping thing and I don't really do it. There are some real pros out there. The fact that the PR specifically puts certain events, including the Rusty results and the uplisting, into the medium range future may make them stick around at least that long. Seems like some weeks.
At this point I have bought as much of the stock as I can. I am out of money for speculative investments, of which this is one. I own few things as risky as KATX. I think most KATX longs are well aware of the potential risks and rewards. Maybe other longs will keep buying and maybe they won't.
It promises to be an interesting few weeks, IMHO.
It's been a long day and I am kind of burned out so excuse me if this question comes across as dumb. It might be.
There are only so many shares of this company.
If the longs (like me) bought up even more shares during the dip (my position is 3x what it was), and other longs refused to panic when the PPS dropped and just HELD (as many did) -- then are there actually a lot of shares out there for flippers to play with? How much shorting can actually be done if the longs HOLD and refuse to give up their shares?
Honestly this is a real question so take it easy on me if there is an obvious answer that I am not arriving at. It really has been a long day today and an answer, whether I like that answer or not, would help me go to sleep without this confusion I now find myself in.
Thanks, Stokes1.
Trying to get some more homework done on REEs and mining in general. A lot to learn here.
Stumbled upon this report from this month from the U.S. Department of Energy on REEs and their relationship to the "Clean Energy Future."
(That terminology always bugs me as we could have had clean energy decades ago if it wasn't blocked at every turn. Jimmy Carter put solar panels on the White House and Ronald Reagan took them down. Oh well, a subject for another time and place.)
But anyways, this is a 166 page report (gawd its long winded) but I found some interesting things glancing through it. I doubt I or anyone else for that matter will read the whole thing.
http://www.energy.gov/news/documents/criticalmaterialsstrategy.pdf
Others here with more know-how or geo expertise might be able to get some good stuff out of it.
IF, and I stress IF, there are mineable quantities of REEs at Rusty Ridge or any of the KAT properties, you really are going to have the U.S. standing up and taking notice. Not only because it not from China, but also Newfoundland is A LOT closer than Australia or Africa.
A lot of Americans are sick and tired of China. We don't want any more of our jobs going overseas and we don't want to keep buying their cheap goods all the time. We want manufacturing jobs back in the U.S. and the "Clean Energy Future" is what we can create jobs with. ANY source of REEs outside China will be integral to the long term economics of the U.S.
Go KATX.
Thanks for the clarification on the definition of NSR. Appreciated.
Sorry I cannot find a definition for the abbreviation "NSR" that you used in your post, anywhere.
Can you explain?
Thanks.
To me this is a no brainer. If you are going to shell out money to hire an IR firm and if you are going ahead with plans to uplist your stock (at significant cost of time and money - legal fees - no doubt), then you have to feel you will get a return on your investment. Staking additional claims also indicates confidence. We can all speculate on what it is that gives the CEO and his management team that confidence. It could be many things, all of which they are perfectly within their rights to keep to themselves until the time is right. You don't have companies big or small letting their shareholders in on everything that is in the works. I don't know how many times I have woken up to CNBC in the morning and some company has bought out another company making the shareholders rich. Or some company has come out with a product I could not have dreamed of. I always ask myself, why didn't I own that stock? If I knew it was coming I would have bought it -- and so would everyone else. There is such a thing as proprietary information. I don't care how big or small the company you are always going to have that. There is always a chance the news is bad. It's the risk investors take. This company either fits in with your risk tolerance and your portfolio or it doesn't. Personally, I thought the PR answered many of the questions that have been asked on this board the past week or so.
lol this is sweet.
the US markets STINK today (Dow is down around 34 points and the NASDAQ and S&P also down) and here's little ole KATX on a tear on the pinks.
I wonder what would happen if someone has one of those robot trading programs working the pinks looking for gains...
Ditto. If I had not been logged on here, I would not have seen the PR until after the big jump. It was delayed on Scottrade but is now showing. Thanks posters for getting this PR on here, I scooped up another lot of shares as it was climbing.
GO KATX
A little communication goes a LONG way.
Go KATX Go.
I am all in as well.
I had a hunch this was going to go back up, so I kept my shares and added.
Plus, I invest in things I believe in. In this case, a clean energy future and nutraceuticals.
Good luck to all CPOW investors.
OK understandable but it went up out of that range. It is a little creepy to me that I swear I saw some new news appear and then it was gone and the stock soars.
Somebody knows something...
here's another article pointing to further backlash on the body scanners and possible replacement of said scanners with some other technology.

I cannot get the links in your post to work.
Are these 8K filings from BVIG or KATX?
If from BVIG, would the recent activity on BVIG shares seem to indicate that it is getting some financing to continue its operations?
CPOW.
Do you have any idea what the connection is? How did you find this out?
It's best to gather all the facts and do our due diligence.
I swear to God when this thing ticked up a few minutes ago there was a newsflash on this company showing on Scottrade that additional sales had been made and the date on it said NOW. When I clicked on it, it took me to Marketwire but there was no news there at all. When I went back to Scottrade the news was gone. This may have been a total glitch but why did this stock go up on no news by almost 11%?
IMSC
Actually he answered me late last night, not during normal business hours. And plenty of companies I have stocks in have the CEOs handling Investor Relations, some of which have a much bigger market cap than this one.
If you own stock in this company bashing its CEO is not going to help anything. If you don't own stock in it, why post here?
I will say that I emailed him yesterday about updating the website, since most of the company news on there was from 2007. He answered promptly and courteously.
This is a plus IMO.
I have a super small take in this company. It has a lot of risks and I need the money in other holdings I have.
Anyone in this for a longer haul should do their due dilligence and make sure this fits in with their risk tolerance.
But I do believe in the upside potential and it looks like others do too. The freefall seems to have stopped for now.
I have a better understanding now of the relationship between BVIG and KATX.
Long and strong with KATX. I am not Canadian but have heard plenty of "newfie" jokes from Canadian friends. Here's hoping the "newfies" have the last laugh here with a stronger economy than their west Canada bretheren.
As a note, I don't even need this stock to go "to da moon" to make a killing. I bought most of it here in this dip period.
With the shares I have now, even if this stock merely made it to $1.00, not very impractical a target for a mining-related stock, I would have more money than I have ever had in my life. A fact that is also rather depressing when I think about it as I have always been a paycheck to paycheck kinda guy. If it goes the other way, I will be sad but not broke.
Do your due dilligence, invest wisely, know your risk tolerance, hedge against things that could go wrong, be sensible. If you are in this, be in it. If you are not, move on to something you believe in and that fits your portfolio.
IMO this is a risk I am willing to take.
I realize long term investors in KATX are very interested in BVIG. I came into this stock (KATX) later than most of you and will not be getting a BVIG distribution. I am, however, a KATX long and I have expanded my shares in this company by 3x in the last few weeks. I am having a hard enough time figuring out what is going on with this stock (KATX) without trying to also read the tea leaves on BVIG. While these are doubtlessly interrelated in ways I may not be able to understand, I would like to please ask that any discussion on BVIG be moved over to a forum for that. I am already on the edge of my seat on KATX.
On KATX itself, there seems to be some talk going around that the company cannot make its operating expenses and yet they are expanding their properties. It would seem to me if they were worried about the future they would not be expanding the operation.
If enough investors believe in this company and stick with it, good things will happen.

I have seen the mention of this -101 report a few times. I cannot find much data about it. Is it required to be filed ANNUALLY and if so, is the deadline in January? Is it possible to file for an "extension" on it or its just you file it or get fined?
100,000 shares just traded per my streaming quotes but unfortunately I cannot tell if that was a buy or a sell.
KATX
Did anyone else notice a trade of 550,000 shares (worth over 95,000.00) a few minutes ago? It appeared on the streaming ticker I have. I just could not tell if it was a BUY or a SELL. Anyone have data?
It certainly would be good to have some news from the company on any of the properties they have and on any subject - gold, copper or REEs. I have confidence in the company too but the lack of news really seems to be causing passions to come out and some investors to bail.
Good article.
This is another one. It does not mention OOIL by name.

This company has a prospectus filed 20 December 2010. I was able to look it up through Scottrade which is where I do my speculative trading. Investors should read the prospectus and decide if they believe in this company and its goals or not. If they do, they should invest in it and help it to grow. If they do not, they should stay out of it. Money is basically an idea backed by confidence. The U.S. Dollar has not been backed by Gold for decades and the only thing that allows it to buy something is confidence. Similarly, I believe the value of a stock to have a lot to do with the confidence of its investors in it. I personally have some confidence in the potential of this company and I am going to keep my small holding in it. This is a KNOWN very risky stock and all of the risks are in the prospectus. That being said, I did not bet the farm on it but bought only a small amount. I'd rather have a few hopeful shareholders there putting pressure on this company to make it than 1,000,000 investors trying to make a quick buck.
oh i hope you are right. in the CNBC interview where Uri Landesman talked about IMSC, he talked about 3 pharma stocks that he was in. Those 3 pharma stocks have been up and up and this one is sideways...
I am really missing something here. How can you put a stop-loss on a penny stock? I trade with Scottrade and they won't let you do it. You have some broker that does? Stay strong everyone - on my streaming ticker KATX is only down .0001 right now.
Can the Quantum Sniffer help prevent these type of attacks?
http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/europe/01/01/italy.pope.remarks/index.html?hpt=T2
More folks on CNBC floating the idea of $5/gallon gas in the first 6 months of 2011.
Here's hoping that IF that disaster comes to fruition, at least we can pay for that gas with some good money made on OOIL.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Indeed.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
That was me that posted the thing about the stadiums and office buildings. Nice pop there at the end of the day. Hoping January eclipses the December gains...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
On my streaming quotes program (Scottrade) it's already over .04
Can someone explain this Cornerstone business?
It looks like this board is not that active. But I have a small holding in SIL. I expect to see Silver as a commodity continue to go up in 2011. Silver was up 89% year to date as of this morning.
If anything should happen to the dollar as regards the world's reserve currency, expect silver to reach unprecented value.
On here it still shows KATX in the red, but my streaming quotes on Scottrade show this stock is starting to go positive again. I think the real gains will HAVE to come starting Monday as the tax sell off will be over.
This is indeed a good article. And a good sign. Perhaps privatization of airport security and downsizing of the TSA will also result in some of these private companies picking up the Quantum Sniffer technology.
I bought into this stock for the first time at the bottom and have made quite some money on this ride back up... Smallish position but I am definitely in this one long...
