Waverider...re IBM/NSM...We have seen hints that NSM is getting ready to come out with their Safekeeper soon. We know that our fees for each Safekeeper will be HIGHER than our fees collected from INTC.
As Zen pointed out today...IBM has changed their security chip....does that mean that Atmel has designed a NEW security chip....or does it mean that the chip vendor has been changed? Then...in another version of the IBM/Cisco story...we have comments from the Chief Information Officer of National Semiconductor ...."National Semiconductor understands the challenges associated with applying effective end to end security when selecting products from disparate vendors"
To this mix...I now throw in the finds from earlier this week in which Wave will be talking at a seminar in April with none other than IBM about security....
I have NO idea as to WHY comments from the CIO of National would be included in an announcement regarding IBM/Cisco.....To this individual...it represents a SIGNIFICANT dot...but a STILL just a dot.
Do all of these dots amount to anything?.....who knows...but I like the picture that is coming into focus
Sincerely,
Jas
Zen...re NSM/ATMEL/IBM....I'm somewhat astonished that your post has received a response from only one individual....
Jas
Zen...re IBM/NSM...Interesting theory!! If and it's a BIG if...NSM has indeed replaced Atmel with the Safekeeper....Our revenues/notebook shipped will EXCEED the fee we currently receive from Intel....as per SKS ~6 months ago....FWIW
Sincerely,
Jas
Howard Golden....Are you really from Northridge? That's my home town )))
Jas
Wildman...re S3...After having some time to think about the recent S3...I was mistaken in thinking that the shares had been approved by the SEC.
Sincerely,
Jas
SAM...re S3...I agree...my initial post was a great deal more enthusiastic...until I read that phrase when I glanced at Wildman's post for the second time. I guess I'll wait for some of the others to chime in....
Sincerely,
Jas
Wildman...re S3...Isn't this good news? If the SEC had truly found something significantly WRONG...do you think the shares would have been approved to be registered? Is my contention correct? Curious about your thoughts on this issue.
Sincerely,
Jas
Larry..re WAVX TA....Don't stop posting!..Whether people choose to pay attention or not is their choice. Would I use TA by itself in making a decision whether to buy or sell...no...would I use it as one of few tools in making that decision...absolutely!
Sincerely,
Jas
Jaybeaux...re law school tiers...Having married into a family of lawyers....I can tell you that it makes a HUGE difference when one is interviewing with a major league law firm. Obviously...these firms take into account other factors in an application...but it is one of the MAJOR considerations as is your rank in the class. Spin...in case you are curious...my brother in law graduated from the one in Ithaca, NY
FWIW
Jas
Lucky...re Wave pr...corrected.....Are you sure it was Wave that released that article?????
Jas
Tony...re available funds...Since last Oct...Wave has received somewhere in the neighborhood of three million dollars from the sale of their SSPX holdings. (I'm also taking into account the sale of ~700k shares that were filed on 1/20/04...the actual sale date and amount received are still in question) If they have indeed sold the 700k shares...it will reduce our total holdings to roughly 2.8 million sspx shares.
Sincerely,
Jas
re Lawsuits...Here is ANOTHER one...
http://biz.yahoo.com/pz/040204/52085.html
It's amazing how the scumbags all come out at the SAME time. Anyone else think the TIMING is interesting???
Jas
Good evening N4...re sales...Don't forget that the company ALSO received a cash INFUSION secondary to the purchase of those options by the employees. Personally, I don't think this is going to have a major effect past a day or two. I WILL BE BUYING MORE SHARES ON THURSDAY!...FWIW
Sincerely,
Jas
Vickers...re Lawsuit...I've seen these guys go after companies for years. What is interesting to me is that they usually pile on close to the timing of an SEC investigation or if the stock takes a drastic fall in price....however, this time...I find it interesting that they have waited as long as they have to bring on this suit. The timing is very interesting to say the least. The upcoming IDF is going to provide the next MAJOR venue for the TCG...and we already know that NSM is going to use this opportunity to discuss their Safekeeper.
What is unbelievable is how they characterized the Intel announcement. Surely they did SOME amount of DD PRIOR to filing this suit. You're right...what was I thinking! To this individual investor...it smells of something...what exactly....well that's the question.
Sincerely,
Jas
Ancanapana...re SSPX...Keep in mind that some individual or entity was buying a very large number of shares while SSPX was in the 1.70-2.00 range that Wave was unloading. There was some serious interest in those shares. Like I've said before....I'll continue to accumulate.
Sincerely,
Jas
Mig...re SSPX...Wave is not the only one at this time with a large block of SSPX shares. The recent PP shares have been registered and can hit the market any time the investors want to sell. The potential overhead is ~15-20 million shares...if all of the investors want to sell....FWIW I'm building a sizable position in SSPX (FD)
Sincerely,
Jas
Larry/CMF/ re SEC...You are correct in that noone can be absolutely 100% sure as to the exact reasons for the investigation. Here are a few reasons why I think the investigation revolves around the IBM issue:
1) Shortly after the SEC notice...Rueters changed the story they had run 3-4 MONTHS ago. Why would they CHANGE the story?
2) Management has NOT waivered one bit regarding their relationship with INTC as stated in the original PR.
Obviously, the other component of the investigation revolves around the trading issue...where this part of the investigation takes us....I have no clue.
Sincerely,
Jas
Burp...re SEC investigation...I would suggest that you do a little leg work before you ask your questions. The investigation has NOTHING to do with the Intel PR....it rather involves the story on rueters which resulted from confusion on the authors part regarding the IBM pr.
Sincerly,
Jas
Kev...re chairmanship of a TCG Com. It's very easy to verify...either contact Wave...or TCG...take your pick. Additionally, keep in mind that in organizations such as TCG...ther will not be any PRs announcing com. memberships or chairmanships of such coms..
FWIW
Jas
Good morning Larry...re Wave's revenues...A better initial indicator will be DEPLOYMENT of TPMs by the various OEMs. In order for our business model to have a chance...we need the proliferation of thee components into the market place. We would be better off paying attention to Intel/NSM/Atmel/IBM/HP etc...
Sincerely,
Jas
guvna...I think this news may help to explain why Wave was in such a rush to sell some of their shares. I've got a number of sspx shares....I'll wait to see how this plays out over then next few days before I buy any more....The fundamentals of SSPX are actually very interesting:
1) Burn rate...~ one million/month
2) Revenue.....~one million /month
3) Cash on hand (after recent PP)...10 million
4) 90-95% of current revenue is being generated from the gov. sector...with a growth rate of ~ 25% (info from recent SHM)
5) SSPX is making their products available in the commercial market...but my gut feeling is that it will take 6-18 months to make a difference on the bottom line.
Interesting little company
Sincerely,
Jas
New Wave...I think that IS exactly what is taking place...take a look at the latest SSPX pr...the shares became available at 5:00 PM 1/23/04
Jas
oknpv....re NSM/Safekeeper...GREAT FIND!! Hopefully, we'll now finally hear something from NSM about their MIA TPM
Sincerely,
Jas
Wildman...re recent Intel info...from the same article on Intel's web site has the following:
"The TPM alone will NOT make a PC secure"
"Intel has also begun delivering this techology and has just released the intel D865grh desktop board which has a version 1.1 TPM and ships with a software suite that provides BETTER security for users personal information."
This article was written by Robert Meinshein who has been with Intel since 1993...fwiw
Sincerely,
Jas
Good morning Toro...re index funds...I think the index change their companies once a year only...therefore...I don't think this is due to any index funds being forced to buy in...fwiw
Sincerely,
Jas
ISPYU...re Intel secure motherboard.....You're forgetting one important point regarding the intial rollout....The majority of the MBs are headed for their enterprise customers( white box manufacturers)...not the retail outlets....if I'm wrong in my understanding ...then please feel free to correct my mistake.
Jas
guvna....the original article came out in the Dec. issue of the Intel mag. This version of the article IS different in that it contains additional info regarding TPMs as well as Intels plans for the SECURE keyboardsas well as TPM1.2 development.
Sincerely,
Jas
Guvna....Thanks for posting the article....nice to see Intel shipping their new motherboard with the software suite that enables better security ))))))))))))Looks like the pr offensive regarding TCG has started!
Jas
Good evening John...re S3...based on your knowledge...can one read anything into the timing of todays registration with regards to the SEC investigation?
Sincerely,
Jas
Slang...good job!....I missed footnote #17 ...I did not see the 44,365 shares that Ms. West had received in addition to the 14,690.
Sincerely,
Jas
DAO...S3 numbers....
1) 3,725,263 Class A shares
2) 931,309 Warrents
3) 146,905 Warrents to the Placement Agents
4) 14,690 Warrents to the Consultant Sandra West
By my calculations...we are missing ~ 50k ....4,818,167
Hope this helps
Jas
re S3...Does anyone have any opinion what todays registration implies regarding the SEC investigation? Although I have NO basis....my gut tells me that Wave would not had been able to officially register the shares until they had been cleared...any others want to give their opinion?
Sincerely,
Jas
DAO...re S3...If you go to the "OFFERING" section of the filling...you will find the answer to your question. It appears that the number INCLUDES the number of class A shares + the WARRENTS + those given to a placement agent + common stock as well as warrents given to a consultant.
Hope this helps
Jas
Good morning KEV...
Although I understand your frustration...I think you're somewhat off base IMHO. I understand that you already know the following...but allow mw an opportunity to address some of the issues you have recently raised:
1) Wave accounts....Yes...I did have a wave account which has remained dormant since the early days of the HAUP board. IMHO...individual accounts of the past are of NO significance at this time.
2) SEC investigation...although none of us can really state with any degree of assurance that they know what the outcome will be....personally...I don't think anything significant will come out of the investigation. We may see a change in an officer and perhaps a penalty...but nothing more imho.
3) SSPX sales....although I don't agree with the speed of the liquidation...I can't argue with managements decision to increase our bottom line WITHOUT increasing our dilution. (FD...I own SSPX shares and have bought it for their potential rather than any take over rumor)
4) WAVE's FUTURE is DEPENDENT upon TCG....period. Nothing that has taken place in the past is of any significance at this point. Does this mean that mistakes were not made in the past...ofcourse there were. Hopefully, management has learned...some would argue that the recent sale of SSPX is an example of learning from the past. Some would contend that the company has wasted the last 5-6 years in non-starts. Others would counter that the last 5-6 years have developed relationships that have positioned us at the center of the TCG movement. We will either LIVE or DIE by the success or failure of the TCG movement.
Sincerely,
Jas
Racer X...Re SSPX...Yes....there are a number of us wavoids who hold SSPX shares as does Wave. As of a few hours ago...Wave had ~3.5 million SSPX shares left in their inventory.
Sincerely,
Jas
Inquirer article regarding Wave:
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=13291
Sincerely,
Jas
Wildman....Thanks for the potential road map for us to keep our collective eyes upon!
Sincerely,
Jas
Good evening Spin...re SSPX...Couple of points:
1) Given the recent round of financing...SSPX nearly DOUBLED the number of outstanding shares thereby diluting Waves ownership down to ~10% from ~20%
2)Wave already has an office in Irvine/Newport area via SOL. In fact there was a recent PR put out by Wave in which the contact office was in the 949 area code. (Newport Beach/Irvine, California)
3) SSPX now has anywhere between 12-13 million dollars working capital after they pay off some of their long term debt....enough resources to get them through 2004. BTW...if anyone is interested...their SHM is on 12/19 @~14:00...
Sincerely,
Jas
Logan...re Intel article...I think it was the trigger for the action we saw earlier this week...imho
Sincerely,
Jas
Larry and Blue...re Amazon vs Wave...I understand the differences...however...the only point I was making had to do with the principle of breakeven. The entire point was that Wave WOULD be generating revenues in 2004...however...breakeven point may be pushed back into 2005/2006. The explanation to this is related to increasing the burn rate/ quarter in order to expand the scope of the business opportunities...in other words...to carve out as large of the real estate as quickly as they can to ensure dominance. This is similar to what Amazon experienced...they spent a great deal in order to secure their position in the market place. This entire position is predicated upon the theory that Wave will in fact be generating significant revenues in 2004.
Sincerely,
Jas
