A "pump and dump" in so many ways...
-Neb
As it was said during the founding of our great country, "Vigilance is the price of liberty".
Think about this simple statement and re-read iblong2's post.
He is absolutely right on this - keeping silent, although safe in the short term, is not always so safe in the long term. Defending an ideology or religion when you are not a member of that belief is turning a blind eye. I would expect those who ARE members of a group to speak out in their OWN defense. I get a funny feeling when the members of a group are silent about the misdeeds of another member. Silence implies complicity and therefore the statements of peace are faulty.
Yes, we should be absolutely vigilant, but not just on the religious side of things. Our OWN leaders seem to have the penchant for power and WE must be so careful of what our leadership is doing. Not just abroad, but here as well. Habeus Corpus? Is that some kind of A Capella group at Harvard?...
Great post, iblong2 - as usual...
-Neb
That is indeed my best side.

Great laugh, lowman!!

Good Morning All!
As a reluctant long term IT guy myself, I would not think twice about the accidental posting. It must have been for the ISP's yearly theme night "Pages From Foreign Lands" and it was inadvertently placed on the Winsted site. It can happen when moving things around on the web server. For those who are not in the realm and are not sure what a web page actually is, assure yourself that it is really nothing more than a file. Really - just a file. It could be thought to be similar to a Word document. In fact, with a few minor tweaks, I could make a web site with a word document as the home page.
Understand that the web pages are stored on a server and there are many different web sites with multiple web pages housed on the server. Each site has it's own folders and sub-folders - no different than looking in your "My Documents" folder and seeing sub folders with your different categorized word documents and pictures and music files, etc. So when the geek like me goes in to change something for a web site, sometimes they have to physically go in and move the old page out and the new page in or create new folders to add the site to that particular server and add the files or whatever. This can literally involve dragging and dropping the actual .asp files (think word docs - .doc files) into and out of the folders. Or dragging folders and sub folders themselves around in Windows Explorer or on other operating system file management utilities, depending on the server.
I can testify that if you put the file in someone else's folder it has the very high likelihood of showing up on the wrong site until the mistake is corrected. Many times the home page is a file called either "home.asp" or "index.asp" and if it has the same name in the top level folder of both sites it will work in either one. When you look at a web page through your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc...) you are really just asking the server at the ISP to send you the first page with all the links on it, which is usually called home.asp, index.asp as mentioned above and is sitting in a folder on that server. So when the underpaid geek at the ISP dropped the home page of the Azerbijani Alpacca Wool Farmers Union into the Winsted folder and overwrote the page called home.asp, our site looked and behaved just like theirs. I am guessing the mistake was quickly realized and a backup copy of the proper Winsted home page was retrieved and reposted or something similar, as it was just as it was before in a few minutes. Believe me - it happens...
Well, I apologize for the long and somewhat technical post, as you may already know all that. However, I may actually pay to have that translated when the check comes in - it has such potential for humor, and who the heck knows - maybe it would be some kind of omen or sign about the things to come.
Although, I suppose it could turn out to be the Azerbijani Albatross Society...
Anyway, let's have a fun and profitable day today!
-Neb
Right on PwAg!!!
-Neb
I'm riding too!
You can throw me in the "back of the shuttle" crowd, though. I tend to get a bit rowdy and I would hate to accidentally flip a switch or press a button or something...
Oh, and nice work, wing - didn't get a chance to give the congrats. So, congrats!!
-Neb
As long as it is only in my Scottrade account and not on the edges of the steaks I am going to be grilling tonight...
;)
-Neb
Why do I have that sneaky suspicion that when I log back in here Sunday night to catch up there will be over 350 posts of one or two lines each coming from only five or six posters and all of them pointed attacks and slams and insults and back and forth banter that will serve no purpose other than being a way for those posters to hear themselves type??!!
Right. Just a suspicion.
Let's all have a calm relaxing weekend after this ride we had this week. We know nothing. Face it. Speculate all day long and you will fulfill my suspicion. Wait for facts. Some should be there on Monday. Log off and forget it for two days - nothing can happen until Monday morning at 9:30 EST and NOTHING anyone posts here will change that.
We are all creatures of the Earth. We are all in the same boat here. Is there ANY logical reason we are not all sticking together and sharing in this potential? If we lose we lose. If we win we win. All of us do. Flippers and shorts aside, investors all stand a chance to win or lose together.
Hmm - maybe we need a group hug...
;)
Monday's a comin'! tick tock tick tock...
Have a great one everyone - pumpers, bashers, investors, lurkers, bystanders, young and old.
-Neb
Ahhh, a Picasso in the making...
Thanks vortmaximum!! It was the difference between red and green for me today. My weekend somehow feels happier...
Have a safe and happy weekend all!

I guess I didn't see it as it flew by. Oh, well.
Happy Friday to all!
-Neb
Are you guys using Scottrade?
-Neb
So I hit the ask with a tiny purchase of 10000 shares. Scottrade - bought it for .0004 and never reflected on the last trade price. Just a test to see what would happen, and it was interesting. Scottrade made 7 on my commission and an additional (.0001 X 10000 = 1.00). I hope that dollar buys someone at Scottrade at least a third of a Starbucks latte...
My ticker shows my 10000 at .0003. My account shows my buy at .0004. Nice.
What fun this is!!! Weeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
*sigh*

Very nice post, airdale1. A JT quote and everything! That is one of my favorite songs of his, by the way. Truth in every word.
Maybe the next one could be your review of 12 Angry Men - another great study in human interaction...
We are all waiting here, and that is just fine with me. Over in MCCY land, things are not quite so calm... (don't worry mods - I only post about MCCY here because it seems that a lot of people have their fingers in both...)
Stress? You want stress!!??? Come work for me! This pinkie land trading is like a walk in the park by comparison...
;)
All right the day is done. One more trading day this week. I hope it is a good one for all of us.

Hi jigfish!
It is in the iBox, if this is what you are talking about:

-Neb
Hi Brent!
After dealing with the MCCY board, I regret ever having paid for mine - they will absolutely have to woo me with something sweet to be able to extract another dime from me!
Hmph!
Actually, I think if you're good you can post up to 15 a day without being a member. Am I correct in that?
And on another topic - I heard you are now going to be a mod for that board - is that correct too?
If so, congrats and much luck...in keeping your sanity, that is...
Let's all have a very green and un-ordinarily civil week!!
;)

-Neb
Nice.
:)
-Neb
Hmmm, maybe I misinterpreted...
I guess in that sense, it would be prudent to take ANYTHING that is not directly out of the company's mouth piece with a grain or two of salt. I would not discount the information completely, as it should at least be based in fact and may just be a case of "stretching the truth" and not being completely false. But again, this is what leads to the speculative banter that is misleading and many times downright false and manipulative.
I think Brent was saying that and also that we need to wait for actual factual information that is directly tied to the company and not speculate.
Brent? What WERE you saying...? ;)
-Neb
Thank you for the voice of reason, Brent.
I am amazed at how quickly this board can go from intelligent banter to slash and burn tactics fit only for the grade school playground within two days of being spanked. The mods were changed and the admins were present and everything. Impressive.
I agree that we shall wait and see - the proof is in the put in, therefore we can only speculate without fact. Speculation is not the basis upon which I prefer to invest.
Nothing in business happens quickly - especially in a global marketplace. Give these people some respect and patience, and if you believe in MCCY, yourself and your choices, you will be fine. If not, go back to school.
I agree - it is time for Raphael to shine. He has the stage and the lights are down. Give us the show - we all know you can.
I hope TFN is paying attention here, as it is getting out of hand again. I pay for this service and I hate to sift through insults and idiocy when I really came here for actual information. Good thing for me there are other boards that actually behave like investors and not kindergarteners. Otherwise I would certainly not renew and I would clearly regret ever spending money on this site to begin with.
Good luck to all, calm down and let's make some money here. Go get 'em Raphael!
And thanks, Brent.
-Neb
Mornin' Dooglearchie!
Is it actually a "subsidiary" ? I have not checked the detail, nor do I really care very much - it is a great confirmation.
Hey - I wrote something short! Wow. This IS going to be an interesting day...
-Neb
Good Morning All!
Nice to see the company mentioned on Argo's site, regardless of web site quality. However, could someone please explain why they used the word "subdivision"? I thought a subdivision was a housing development... ;)
I am excited about this and I think this and the MCCY website will lend some credence to the mission at hand. I do not fault Raphael for the grammar, as it is likely not he directly dictating these things (that I know of) but there has to be some kind of QC on the grammar - first impressions can make a big difference, regardless of how unfair they may be. A nit picky point to be sure, but I am a bit of a fan of the language, as you can see I can not seem to post anything less than three paragraphs...
Step by step - we will see this grow. Keep at it Raphael - you are doing a great job and we are grateful for your efforts. Let's see that SP break out of the artificial mode!!!
-Neb
Indeed quality trumps all. I have always believed that. Success is built on high quality.
Your illustration is correct for the time in which the technology has already been accepted into the market place and the doctors are making a choice of which to use. At that point, the quality wins - your logic is sound. Long term the ease of market infusion, and I hope the subsequent challenge of market saturation for that matter, is all that the company and its competitors will face.
But I am pointing out the effect during the time of introduction to market. Say I am a cosmetic surgeon who has depended on the after surgery hospital crowd. There is a reasonable segment of these physicians, I would guess, although I really don't know this. We will just say for this example that it applies to whatever size segment of the cosmetic surgery market it is for now. So this new technology comes out that will eliminate at least 70% of my revenue stream. I know if I buy it I can increase my other 30% through time, but even if I do it by 15% per year it is still many years of debt until I catch up and then I have to catch up on that debt, etc... And the cosmetic surgeon who does non-hospital work and only cosmetic work needs to purchase a new system for X amount of dollars. Perhaps they just started out and invested in, well, some kind of bulk stitch-em-up supply purchase or something, I don't know....
OK. Now I am just getting ridiculous. So my point really is a question. Would the psychological factors including fear of change, market loss, and loss of competitive advantage along with potential entry price prohibitions cause difficulty for those trying to enter the market and if so, what is necessary to overcome this potential obstacle?
I realize I am only talking about a tiny part of the actual marketing challenge, so understand this is not about bashing or being negative - just talking about it. All the positives are well noted, and this author wished he had a little more scratch in the vault...
-Neb
Airdale1, I am in agreement. It was a bit of a devil's advocate kind of thought aimed at a small economic detail. I think that your logic is good.
Compared to sutures this blows away any current technology in any field. I was raising a strictly marketing issue - not an analysis of the technology itself.
I can see the California highway maintenance departments getting out the barricades already... Cops yelling, "Please stay on the sidewalk if you are waiting for Dr. Neunosse!"
Revolutionary.
-Neb
That's just one of the three? Either marry me or just give me some shares...
;)
-Neb
*tail between legs*
OK, so every question was answered in the iBox. Every one. All the company information was valuable, the notes, the profiles and lowman's comments were all valuable reads. Thanks for putting it up there for us.
Hooooowever, lowman, I must respectfully throw this at your reasoning on a part of the comment in this statement:
B) Monopoly within the market: Near-bloodless surgery minimizes blood transfusions, which minimizes transmission of blood-bourne diseases (AIDS, just for starters). The healthcare industry should greatly appreciate this 'little' benefit. Near- scarless surgery will be appreciated in the cosmetic surgery industry and by all those who might wish to avoid surgeries which to date, leave unsightly scars (C-sections, wound closures, breast implants, etc.)
I agree with all of it except the part about being appreciated by the cosmetic surgury industry - could they not be one of the enemies to market infusion of this technology? They make their money correcting things like giant scars from surgery and other post trauma events. You are right in that when they do a nose job or a boob job it might help, but they will lose a part of their revenue stream on the post trauma. This would have to be replaced by an increase in revenue generated by the use of the technology. I am not quite sure that they could. But even with nose and boob jobs, they may also be losing return customers that would have otherwise come back in ten years to fix that nagging scar tissue that is now prominent on their face or is bothering their breast bone. Had they used the newer and better technology they may not come back for twenty.
Don't get me wrong - I would love to see this technology get to the public as soon as possible and I am a strong supporter of the company. I would have no problem with the poor sufferings of the cosmetic surgery industry, in most cases (not the ones who actually need it due to illness or accident, of course). I just wanted to point that one out and see what you thought about it.
And it proves I'm thorough. :)
*beam*
OT - Actually, I think I am truly just looking for a sparing partner - I have been suffering through the MCCY board and it made me crazy. TOVC is not usually very active anyway so I had to come here where I thought there may actually be a couple mature people with an actual ability to banter like adults...
As always, thanks for the information - very complete and informative.
-Neb
maddogs that is a GREAT quote!
A nice example and a true sentiment. It is bizarre to me that this technology is not just zipping through the world. It seems to be, assuming most of what I have read is true, that this is something exceptional in concept and practice.
Could you or anyone else speculate on if/when approved by the FDA, will the IPO of LTC be announced right then or will they wait - or could it even be before? What is the possible opening ask of the new IPO? What might the value of the CTUM stock become once the IPO opens? Would the CTUM share value grow through time as long as the LTC price went up since they would be the owners of a large portion of shares?
As you can see I have not been staying in touch with this company or the board for a month or so, as I sold my modest holding for a bit of a loss just to go and jump in on another lovely tanker (hopefully temporarily...) but I want to check in to see how things are going. I do want to come back as a shareholder very soon and I don't want to wait tooooo long as it has been holding this value for a bit. Thus the questions. In fact, I quite rudely have not even looked at the iBox before asking... *gulp*
Anyway, thanks in advance for any information and I will now go look at the iBox.
-Neb
THAT is too funny, Torvecian!!
Although I wish it was my life, music is a serious hobby for me. But I am in the mellow scene so rather than generate new music to power the state I will just sell my simple folk music "back to the grid"...
Seriously, it is interesting but rather vague, which is to be expected. What are the byproducts? And doesn't combustion require some kind of catalyst or some other substance to react to - or is this what they are saying the radio waves do? What remains after the H is gone? I guess it would just be the O and any non-combustible hospital waste, assuming they harvest from the Atlantic.
You can see I am not an engineer or a scientist, but I would have hoped that this intriguing article (nice post, Artguy) could lead my overactive imagination to somewhere else other than the "My goodness, what can we pollute next?" camp...
I remember as a boy I used to be bad and take my magnifying glass to an unsuspecting crawling bug during the hot days of summer. I learned through the great sacrifice of my six legged co-inhabitants that I could concentrate energy in one point whereby it was strong enough to be lethal when without the magnifying glass the same amount of energy was present but just not concentrated. Maybe we can find a new source of energy using this concept - find a thousand eager little boys to bring their magnifying glasses to a central location. Release a million ants in one little area and let the boys loose on the bugs. The combined energy of the burning ants would be enough to spin some kind of low friction turbine and the cost would be limited to the cost of a million ants, the turbine setup (one time sunk cost - no biggie) and one thousand iPods and by that time iPods will be almost free anyway...
-Neb
Yes, I agree that there are multiple variables to be addressed. Really what I was trying to point out is that we tend to put way too much weight on only one or two variables and attempt to do analysis on these alone without viewing the entire picture.
Supply and demand is simple on the surface, but once studied in depth it is easy to see that all the things mentioned on this board have SOME effect on the share price. But it is a synergy (I hate that corporate word - but it works here) of all the variables that create the image of simplicity in the supply and demand picture. No single issue short of criminal activity can dictate the VALUE of a company. The stock price can be artificial, but by the very label it does not reflect the value all the time. Solid companies rise up and face the hurdles - they do not die because of rumor or chatter. If they do then they were nothing to begin with.
And don't even get me going on naked shorting - that is an issue all its own. I absolutely know it happens here in pinkie land. Hopefully we will see less of this practice after 10/15, but we will see.
Anyway, I really just wanted to thank TFN for the statement of fact. Everyone is an expert and knows this and that and how this works and how that works and who e-mails who and what this word implies and that word implies and what company is real and what company is a scam and what the latest visionary four minute increment chart is showing by the bollie bands and holy crapoli it goes on and on and on. Stating that we really don't control anything was the most truthful thing proclaimed in a long time on this particular board. It takes a solid person to say that they really can't predict the future - thanks again, TFN!
You are absolutely correct, Leigh01. It happens. Just be thorough in your analysis, stick to the facts that YOU find out, and trust in your investment...unless you are a flipper, of course...
Might be a rough week for this stock, but in my opinion the long money wins.
Good luck to all!
-Neb
TFN - Finally! You have stated the ONLY true statement on this board since I joined this site.
As for the share price I am on record saying that supply and demand dictates that
This is what drives the markets, people - no one is strong enough to over ride the fundamentals that the free market economy is based on.
Thanks for the truth. Let's keep that as our mantra - the truth.
Thanks, TFN, and good luck with the mod job!
-Neb
I don't want to get involved in anyone's arguments here, but I do read tons and I do my own DD (therefore I do not bash or pump - I invest) and what I am reading here makes me laugh. A bunch of people bragging or stabbing and acting like they are on the kindergarten playground.
There are legitimate questions here, and they really should be answered in one way or another. Giving leading answers with no real substance does not help - even though the attempt to quell the suspicion is valiant. Telling someone to call the company when you know full well the company does not want to participate in the playground games is not a help. But by giving this answer it creates less confidence in the company and supports the basher's ideas that nothing can be proven. Both sides, if you can call them "sides" are throwing about statements with no backup or documentation of their claims.
Anyone who has been in business knows full well that things do not happen overnight, and the successful companies are constantly changing and adapting to new business variables. To constantly hold someone up against the wall on every statement and idea is ludicrous. Let the business develop, watch it intently, and only speak out when you have a fact or idea that can be verified. If you can't verify it, don't make the statement. It is simply not fair.
I believe in MCCY or I would not have invested. I do not invest money I can not afford to lose. I have looked up what I can and read about all the players and looked at the history of each. I am confident in my investment, but there is always the chance that the company will fail. That is true of ANY business endeavor, no matter how solid the product or how shrewd the leaderships is. That is the nature of business.
If you believe in the company, sit tight and watch the developments as they unfold. If you think the company is a scam, don't invest and move along to something you believe in. False praise is detrimental. False derogatory statements are simply slander. Enough said.
I look forward to seeing the development in the next few weeks and I will make a decision to stay or leave in a couple months. I will not bash anyone if I find this to be a scam, and I will congratulate all when this thing grows.
Oh, and by the way, I Googled your book and can not find it. I checked Amazon and every literary outlet I could find. No dice. Could you either PM me with the information on obtaining the book or just post it publicly for all to share? I would be very interested in it, and I would pay the appropriate costs for the book and the shipping. I am also a big fan of research, although I can not claim to be the expert at it - I just do what works for me and my confidence. Please let me know if it is available.
Good luck to all the investors here, and if we could eventually turn this into an intellectual board and not an argument site I would then feel my investment in a half year of iHub premium was worth it. Believe me, there are plenty of other boards I enjoy reading, as they are informative and mature, so the investment is not lost, but to read this drivel full of rumors and dangled promises of information (regardless if they are true or not - teasing is unproductive) I seriously doubt the legitimacy of not the company itself, but the legitimacy of the claimed investors.
OK, I missed the open due to this rant. I must get back to my work. My apologies in advance...
Have a GREAT Tuesday all!!!!!

Hello defireman,
Try http://www.argonav.com/
and http://luonglan.trustpass.alibaba.com/ for some basic information.
They used these guys for their software in 2005:
http://www.esri.com/news/arcnews/fall05articles/ingenuity.html
And then I found them mentioned in this PR from some company I have heard of somewhere...
http://www.marketwire.com/mw/release.do?id=756282&k=
Oh, and I found all this at Google by typing, without the quotes, "argo navigation" in the search field to get to this results page:
http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&q=argo+navigation&btnG=Google+Search
Nothing complicated. Just a little simple research...
No problem. Anytime. ;)

Most excellent post, Artguy. Very positive and no, it was not confrontational - at least to me anyway.
I agree with your sentiment, and in this world there is no reason not to follow your best judgment when making buy or sell decisions. For me, it is easy. I buy companies and not shares. That way I can do as much research as I can and then make my decision and buy what I can afford to lose. Once made, I stick to it - win or lose. There is a lot to be said for loyalty in the hard times.
I have done my research and I am totally confident in my investment. This confidence allows me to joke a bit and wrestle with my queasy tummy as I watch the share price wobble about. It is hard for many to take, so if you are not able to see the good in this most excellent company then you should definitely move along and find another gem to invest in.
Some over there on the Yahoo board will certainly call me some kind of inside pumper or something, but let it be known that I am simply a fan of Torvec's innovative engineering, quality minded leadership and the possibility that they will help a little bit to clean up the Earth in one way or another. All those things, and of course Torvec being a Rochester company, prompted me to buy in (don't worry - the Rochester part is just gravy to me...). If I lose every penny I will still be very proud of my decision - for all decision are good when they are made with good forethought. They may not lead to the expected goal, but maybe something else comes of it. Lose money, learn simplicity - whatever. If you put in the honest hard work in making the decision, even if you are considered "wrong" by others, you will eventually rise to your own potential.
Perhaps that is what Torvec is doing - contrary to those who doubt them they are rising to their own potential.
I am fully aware that nothing is for certain and things can change in an instant, so this positivity is not blind. But like Artguy says, there are so many things stated recently and there is real estate purchased and so many other positive things that point to future success. It is just slow. Really slow. So slow I don't even know, but you guys at Tor Acres DEFINITELY know...
Everyone please have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend, and let's look forward to a bright future for the company we all share.
-Neb
C'mon someone else close us green today - I slapped it last time...
-Neb
Oh no, it hurts...
And this comes straight from the heart - you have a great weekend as well, Torvecian!
Yes, from my heart. To be specific, the left.........VENTricle....
-Neb
Vent away, my friend. We all need to with this kind of wait.
Doesn't it seem like groundhog...oh never mind.
-Neb
I know - it is true. Up a few, down a few, wobble wobble, twenty cents here, twenty five there,... *yawn*
I really think it is OK, though. This stuff does take time once the threshold of R&D completion is reached. I do trust in what they are doing, but the wait is hard. The automotive industry is a slow mover (the irony is thick on that one) and I hope that being small will keep us nimble so we can take advantage of any emerging opportunity. Based on the filings I have read and the quiet that is present and most of all the statements by Mr. Gleasman I have much faith in the success of this operation.
Curl up with a good book and a glass of 21 year old scotch and wait it out. If it takes longer, you can simply have another scotch.
We'll get there.
-Neb
Why yes it does. And does the movie "Groundhog Day" remind you of any particular stock...
-Neb
Chimaera1950,
Yes, I modified the account numbers and such - what you see in your account page is correct. I thought it best not to broadcast ANY account numbers, even if they are not really mine per se.
Good luck today, and I hope this puppy at least starts to piddle on the carpet...
;)
Happy Friday to all, and a great and safe long weekend ahead!
-Neb
casac - how are you viewing forty? I am guessing I am considered "but a lad" at this age...
-Neb
