THAT is too funny, Torvecian!!

Although I wish it was my life, music is a serious hobby for me. But I am in the mellow scene so rather than generate new music to power the state I will just sell my simple folk music "back to the grid"...

Seriously, it is interesting but rather vague, which is to be expected. What are the byproducts? And doesn't combustion require some kind of catalyst or some other substance to react to - or is this what they are saying the radio waves do? What remains after the H is gone? I guess it would just be the O and any non-combustible hospital waste, assuming they harvest from the Atlantic.

You can see I am not an engineer or a scientist, but I would have hoped that this intriguing article (nice post, Artguy) could lead my overactive imagination to somewhere else other than the "My goodness, what can we pollute next?" camp...

I remember as a boy I used to be bad and take my magnifying glass to an unsuspecting crawling bug during the hot days of summer. I learned through the great sacrifice of my six legged co-inhabitants that I could concentrate energy in one point whereby it was strong enough to be lethal when without the magnifying glass the same amount of energy was present but just not concentrated. Maybe we can find a new source of energy using this concept - find a thousand eager little boys to bring their magnifying glasses to a central location. Release a million ants in one little area and let the boys loose on the bugs. The combined energy of the burning ants would be enough to spin some kind of low friction turbine and the cost would be limited to the cost of a million ants, the turbine setup (one time sunk cost - no biggie) and one thousand iPods and by that time iPods will be almost free anyway...
