That link is for wireless, this is wired directions:
How to connect two laptops using LAN cable.
Firstly you need a network crossover cable. Available from most computer stores. This is a special type of cable (not a standard LAN cable)
Secondly Make sure both computers are on the same workgroup. TO do this Right click on My computer, Properties, go to the Computer Name Tab, See what is written in Workgroup. Change one computer by clicking on change and then type in the name of the other computer in the workgroup space down the bottom. Do not make the computer part of a domain. You want Workgroup.
This name change will require a computer reboot.
When both computers are on the same workgroup, we need to set IP Addresses.
In Control Panel, Open Network Settings.
Right click on Local Area Connections and select properties.
Under the heading "This connection uses the following items, Find Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Highlight it, Make sure you don't untick the box, and click on properties
Under the heading Use the following IP Address Enter in the Following on ONE Computer.
IP Address 192.168.0.10
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway LEave Blank
Under the Heading Obtain DNS Server address automatically
Set this to Automatic. Don't enter anything in.
On the second computer Make the IP Address 192.168.0.20
Everything else the same.
This should be all.

I think you have to put it on the 'net and link to it.
Can you hook up one laptop to another laptop?
Answer:
Yes, you can. You have to have wireless card on both. And in wireless properties choose pc-to-pc connection. then put a static ip address. On the first one 192.168.1.1, and on the second one put static ip address 192.168.1.2. Then open cmd and type:
ping 192.168.1.1
and then
ping 192.168.1.2
If it responds everything is ok. If it's not check previous steps again. If you have a dedicated firewall you have to open local ports (137, 139) and allow to connect to remote ports (137, 139).

All About SOPA, the Bill That Wants to Cripple Your Internet
SOPA, or the Stop Online Piracy Act, is another one of those bills that sounds like it's going to do something mildly positive but, in reality, has serious potential to negatively change the internet as we know it. It puts power in the hands of the entertainment industry to censor sites that allegedly "engage in, enable or facilitate" copyright infringement. This language vague enough to encompass sites you use every day, like Twitter and Facebook, making SOPA a serious problem. Here's how it works and what you can do about it.
How Does SOPA Work, and Why Should I Care?
The idea behind SOPA sounds reasonable. It came about in order to try to snuff out piracy online, as the entertainment industry is obviously not excited about the many people downloading their product without their permission. The issue is, however, that it doesn't really matter whether you're in support of piracy, against it, or just don't care. SOPA makes it possible for companies to block the domain names of web sites that are simple capable of, or seem to encourage copyright infringement.
All About SOPA, the Bill That Wants to Cripple Your InternetThis means that if Lifehacker (or IHub, etc) happened to have an article or two that could be interpreted as piracy-friendly, our domain could be blocked so it's unaccessible by visiting lifehacker.com. What the bill can't do is block numeric IP addresses, so you could still access Lifehacker, or any other site that could be censored, if you knew that address. This is important because it means this bill can't do much to stop downloaders of pirated content. If a domain name is blocked, everything will still work via the numeric IP address.
Basically, the bill will be no good at stopping piracy—what it was apparently designed to do—but excellent at censoring any web site capable of providing its users with the means of promoting pirated content or allowing the process. This includes sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, and many more. If it's possible to post pirated content on the site, or information that could further online piracy, a claim can be brought against it. This can be something as minor as you posting a copyrighted image to your Facebook page, or piracy-friendly information in the comments of a post such as this one. The vague, sweeping language in this bill is what makes it so troubling.
In the event of SOPA-based censorship, any site can submit an appeal so long as they do so within five days. This isn't a lot of time to handle a legal matter, and if you've ever dealt with a copyright infringement takedown notice you know how ineffective an appeal can be. When a threat of legal action is posed, a company is generally going to prefer to err on the side of caution and remove infringing content indefinitely. It's far cheaper to run the risk of removing perfectly legal content than to battle the issue in court. If your web host censors your site because of a SOPA-based claim, you can expect the same sorts of problems.
If you want to learn more about how SOPA works, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) posted a great overview. You can also view the exact contents of SOPA. For a quick overview, be sure to watch the video at the top of this post (at link below).
What Can I Do About SOPA?
Currently Twitter, Google, Reddit, Kickstarter, Tumblr, Mozilla, Yahoo, AOL, eBay, Zynga, Facebook, and several other sites have spoken out in opposition of SOPA. If you'd like to as well, there are a couple of things you can do.
First, call your congressperson on the phone. This is especially important if you live in Texas, Michigan, Vermont, or Iowa. You can also send a letter to your congressperson by visiting the American Censorship Day web site. To activate the contact widget, you have to click the "Try it out" link that's wedged between two screenshots of a censored logo and the "Website Blocked" widget you're trying to open. This will provide you with a form and allow you to send a letter.
Second, get the word out. Post this article, the American Censorship Day web site, or any other information about SOPA on your social media accounts. Send emails to friends and family. If you oppose the bill, help others to understand why they should oppose it as well.
SOPA is on the fast track, so if you want to fight it you need to do so today. We do, however, recommend you get to know the bill so you you can make an informed decision regarding how you feel about it.

Tail-gunner's lost letters:
Dave Lemal was a tail-gunner on a bombing mission over Japan the day the bomb fell that changed the world. He and the rest of the crew on his B-29 got the word crackling over the radio that another crew on another B-29 had dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
Lemal said he doesn’t remember many other details about his mission on Aug. 6, 1945, including what city he and his crew bombed that day with conventional weapons. To find out what the 24-year-old U.S. Army Air Forces staff sergeant thought and felt 66 years ago, you’d have to read a letter he wrote home....

Actually, I didn't mean to imply it was a problem... I also had been running Flashblock for years with no problems. I would more likely blame FF if Flashblock suddenly started causing FF to hang all the time. I just didn't bother adding it on again. So far Flash hasn't been causing me the hanging it did a few years ago when I first installed Flashblock.
I've only had one update, this last one, since doing the reinstall. Have never gotten a failed to update. I do, occasionally, see that FF didn't really quit (checked through task mgr) when I close it, which annoys me to no end. It just did it a bit ago (and that was the first time since reinstalling and after the last update).
Oh that's a Murphy's Law, when it rains it pours, time existing so everything doesn't happen at once, space existing so everything doesn't happen to you fubar thing... happens to me all the time
I've never had update search engines checked. I don't really get why it's even there. I just use google. Of course, it's up to you. I never saw the need.
A couple weeks ago I was so very at my patience limit with FF. It was hanging all the time. I finally backed up my bookmarks, made sure I had all my saved passwords and totally uninstalled everything having to do with FF. Then I did a fresh install, imported my bookmarks. So far all (knock, knock, knock) is fine again.
It was a PIA to redo the tweaks I must have, but it was worth the effort. I'll add that the add-on Flashblocker is one I didn't bother (yet) to reinstall. So that I don't know if it contributed to my strong desire to toss the pc out the window...

Guinness Chocolate Cheesecake from Closet Cooking
(makes 6+ servings)
Ingredients:
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons heavy cream
12 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup Guinness
Directions:
1. Mix the graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, sugar, and butter and press into the bottom of a 9 inch spring form pan.
2. Melt the chocolate in the cream in a double boiler.
3. Cream the cream cheese.
4. Mix in the sugar, chocolate, sour cream, eggs, vanilla, and Guinness.
5. Pour the mixture into the spring form pans.
6. Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 60 minutes.
7. Turn off heat and leave cheesecake in the oven with the door slightly ajar for 60 minutes.
8. Let it cool completely.
9. Chill the cheesecake in the fridge overnight.
This recipe for the Guinness chocolate cheesecake is a pretty basic chocolate cheesecake recipe with the addition of the Guinness but the similarities stop there. The addition of the Guinness changes the texture and properties of the cheesecake making it more souffle like. Normally you can tell when a cheesecake is done by shaking it a bit and if only the center wiggles it is done but the entire surface of this cheesecake will wiggle the whole time, even after 2 hours of baking. You pretty much just have to trust the recipe and the results are certainly worth it!
If it tastes better baked, well, baked it should be. You can mix your own maple sausage, too, tweak to your liking:
Ingredients
1 pound ground pork
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 to 2 teaspoons mesquite Liquid Smoke, optional
Directions
In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Shape into eight 2-1/2-in. patties. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
In a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray, cook patties over medium heat for 4-6 minutes on each side or until a
thermometer reads 160°. Yield: 8 servings.

You'd like this one if you aren't using it already:
The tab bar is always showing by default, even with only one tab open in Firefox. You can change this behavior by unticking the 'Always show the tab bar' option under the Tabs section of the Firefox settings.
Tools/Options/Tabs
Now if you only have the one window open your tab bar will go away (assuming you see your address bar, lol... the multiple views/options available in FF can make helping/directing folks a bit of a chore).
You can tweak that tab bar... right click on the Firefox button/Options or Menu bar and uncheck Tabs on Top
That should put your tab bar under your address bar.

I'm using 7... seems to run pretty good. I've eliminated a lot of my frustrations with FF by using IE to view video. And I've only had 7 for a couple days but so far it does seem better than 6... but I don't know if it's better than 3... lol
I used to work for Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips (first real job and the absolute best job I ever had). I've been craving their food for a couple months now, I don't live near them anymore, seriously craving.
They had a chicken sandwich made with coleslaw and Russian dressing... I never got sick of their food, so good.
Well, I'm not craving a buger anymore!
Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun.
Big Mac Attack... I'll get over it, though... they are never as good as remembered and I haven't had one in years.
Might try the special sauce on a homemade burger... then I can keep my good memories
I was so, so disappointed in the last Whopper I had. Could not compare to those delicious takes two hands to handle the Whooper of the late 70's
Now I'll have to raid the fridge...

Here's an interesting article from MS... it doesn't solve it really but interesting.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310601
In my case, I am set to turn off monitor after 10 min. and Stand By after 20. That article wouldn't seem to apply to me but MSI and Automatic Updates do whatever they do whenever they want so perhaps there is something there.
I definitely think it's a random problem. It may be jqs, though I'm not convinced. I don't have the other problems you have with jqs either and I probably don't use java as often as you, assuming your trading software uses it, since I'm not using any trading software.
Unless it's a coincidence, lol. I haven't disabled jqs and my monitor/sleep routine is working as it's suppose to... for now. Hope that solves it for you, but don't be surprised if you get another fail eventually
XP? Mine does that, too. Very random... no rhyme or reason. Sometimes a reboot will help, but eventually it will fail again.
When I'm sure I won't be at my pc for a few hours I just put it in Stand By to avoid the annoyance of coming back to a screen that failed to turn off and/or Sleep.
oh... okay... just run quick malwarebytes and quick virus, for now. Later when Daughter and Mom aren't so busy with other important life stuff let it run full scans.
Have a great night!
