Can you hook up one laptop to another laptop?

Answer:

Yes, you can. You have to have wireless card on both. And in wireless properties choose pc-to-pc connection. then put a static ip address. On the first one 192.168.1.1, and on the second one put static ip address 192.168.1.2. Then open cmd and type:

ping 192.168.1.1
and then
ping 192.168.1.2
If it responds everything is ok. If it's not check previous steps again. If you have a dedicated firewall you have to open local ports (137, 139) and allow to connect to remote ports (137, 139).
