Without dilution we would all lose everything since the debt was overwhelming. But if Matt uses any dilution to grow shareholder value then it's a good thing IMO. And that is what they are doing if you believe the cord blood model that these assets will have greater value in the future. I do.
As for the 5, 6, or 7B shares outstanding, market cap is what determines share price divided by outstanding shares. I don't care if they do a R/S or not as it won't affect my share value in the least.
After reading some things Locks sent me I now see this DNA thing as just reselling the service to customers that store cord blood with us as another offering. Looks to me like the testing will continue to be done by the DNA testing company. Kind of a value added service but not anything substantial. Sorry for reading it wrong initially. Maybe something more with insurance as Mr Long thinks but I doubt it. We'd just be the middle man and they never overpay.
It's an interesting thought and something we are talking about. My girlfriend is pretty tight but she hasn't ruled it out yet. But she is only 56. lol. Surprised me.
We're talking about doing what Matt suggested regarding storing our stem cells. It's a lot of money but could save our lives. At the current price though it's a lot of money. More than likely we will risk it for another year and hope the price drops. Another possible huge revenue stream for CBAI in time.
I haven't thought about them lately. But looking at there website they are heavy into the DNA thing we announced today.
That to me is the beauty of storing. There is I think a 50% chance your child will be a match for you. If it is you can use it. But two issues that I addressed before. One, it's not clear how long they can be safely stored. We know it's at least 20 years but could be 100 years. And the other is the limited number of stems from cord blood. That's why this latest product Mr Long has been talking about is so important. It supposedly can increase the number of stems by up to four times. I'm sure one day there will be something that can multply it even more. The more stems you can get the more you and your child can use it.
Just imagine what could be done with those 20-40 years from now. Grow a new liver, heart, anything. People just see what the stems do today. But the opportunities are endless with more applications.
CBAI has always included disease testing as part of the storage fee. This is DNA testing which is totally different. And this service isn't only available to people that store stems. It's available for anyone that wants the test done. For instance, they now do testing to determine if you are a match to be the Mother or Father of a child. There are other DNA testing companies out there. But we have the insurance connection and if we become the preferred provider for this service this business will grow for sure. At least this is my opinion of this announncement.
CSTI is there now and chasing. And you can't really tell what he is doing if he is say .0001 off the ask. He could be going up and hitting the Ask without moving his base Bid.
Cord Blood America Signs DNA Testing Deal; Offers Families Predetermination Testing Services
LAS VEGAS, Aug 10, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Cord Blood America, Inc. (http://www.cordblood-america.com) (OTC Bulletin Board: CBAI), the umbilical cord blood stem cell preservation company focused on bringing the life saving potential of stem cells, a biological insurance policy, to families nationwide and internationally, today announced that within 90 days it will begin selling DNA Predisposition testing services in conjunction with The DNA Shop, LLC, (https://dnashop.net) , Henderson, Nevada.
The test involves taking a couple of droplets of blood from both mother's blood draw, and from baby's umbilical cord blood, for testing purposes. CBAI currently collects maternal blood samples with the umbilical cord blood at the time of birth, so this process will require almost no additional time or materials cost. A single finger prick of blood will be collected and tested from other family members also wishing to have these testing services.
The DNA is then analyzed for predisposition to 25 diseases, including Alzheimer's, Multiple Sclerosis, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, obesity and seven different types of cancer, including breast, lung, skin and prostate.
"DNA testing and HLA typing services are a natural progression from storing cord blood stem cells. The parents will now know proclivity to certain diseases for the child," said Matthew Schissler, co-founder and CEO. "Knowing what serious medical conditions or diseases a person is predisposed to will allow for that person to take steps to prevent the disease and to make informed choices about lifestyle and the need for medical screenings."
"This is another excellent example of how we are diversifying our revenue streams, just as we told shareholders we would accomplish in 2010. This service is a natural extension for the same reasons many families invest in cord blood stem cell storage. Advances in DNA testing continue to provide further insight into our wellness equation and with a stored sample, the opportunity to quickly take advantage of the future discoveries in this emerging area of science. In addition, CBAI will offer the DNA testing service to anyone interested, which will broaden our potential customer base dramatically."
There will be a charge for services at time of birth, plus a yearly storage fee for those wishing to store their DNA.
And look who is sitting on the Bid this morning. CSTI. We might soon find out who CSTI is buying for since at 5% they have to declare in a filing.
At the same time Matt is leveraging the contacts he has made since starting the company plus the expertise they bring to the table. Case in point is the China deal. For zero investment we now own 10% of a Chinese sub yet to be announced and that has significant growth in China as a goal. And they happen to be well funded. Plus the 8.5% royalty which is all profit. For that we are the consultants. The experts. We order the equipment for these storage facilities, work with the builder to build them out based on our knowledge/experience, and train the staff.
I think you're mising the most important factor. CBAI didn't just pay down the debt. They are also and to a large extent leveraing the dilution dollars to quickly grow the company which if correct will significantly raise the equity which in turn will raise the PPS. And they aren't done yet. The next big deal may very well include more dilution. But if the assets we are buying end up being much more valuable than the original investment all shareholders win. That is why I'm here and betting on CBAI. Time will tell.
Can you tell us what you mean "something is happening"? Thanks.
Well I said I was going to ask Matt about storing my stems now and below is his response. I told him I would probably post it so am assuming that is OK with him. Just so you understand what Matt is talking about when he says our "addictions", I'm a long-time smoker and my girlfriend spent way too many hours tanning and has had many skin cancers as a result. Our only option now is kind of expensive currently so will have to research it more and think about it. But if this ever gets more affordable it is certainly another great revenue source for us.
"Dew! Yes, a good idea. For both of you, fat is not the answer. Those are tissue cells. Your addictions need blood cells. Peripheral Blood is the solution. We can store your peripheral blood cells. Its a service we will launch in the next year or so, but we can still do it today. Peripheral blood has the same types of cells as cord blood. But it costs around 8,000 because of the drugs you have to take prior. The process takes about 4 hours at a hospital or blood center. Let me know if you want me to arrange. The reason we haven't launched yet is the price. There are some new technologies coming in the next year which could bring price down."
I'm not sure we will get any news this coming week. I don't expect the 10Q until Monday, August 16th, but it's just my opinion. And don't expect the Biocells news until the end of the month.
Sometime soon they have to announce the China subsidiary that was mentioned in the original announcement for the AXMP deal. If you're good at searching Edgars we might find something before an announcement.
And you can bet your life that is where the money is coming from to build out these Labs and storage facilities in China. They want to open eleven in total and now have two. We're in it for 10% for basically consulting on each one. Not sure if we get the 8.5% royalty too on each one but very well might. Or that could be unique to the AXMP deal. Regardless, what a deal Matt made. Unreal.
The big question is who is MM CSTI buying for? They have been slick buying shares without applying too much buying pressure. Been buying for almost a month now. Hmmmm.
Hey Karen. You haven't been around much for a while. Yes this weave is interesting. Some guy named David something (can't remmeber that name) is traveling with Matt in China where they pick up another Lab site for free. No mention of AXMP. Then we find out David is a Director with China Stem Cells LTD. Who just so happens to be owned by Golden Meditech Holdings. Which just bought a significant interest in Cygenics, a CordLife unit. And has plans to open eleven cord blood labs in China, and if part of the AXMP deal now has two of the eleven. Did I miss anything? What next?
Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out why Matt changed that statement to "most significant".
I agree we need to make a big play in the US and you may have that one right. But if we are to be the largest stem cell storage company in the world we need to grow in China too. Matt is a smart cookie and he has made some great connections that are helping him get to where he wants to be and fast. Just a very exciting time if you are a CBAI shareholder IMO.
So according to this Golden Meditech owns China Stem Cells LTD. Oh what a maze we weave.
AUSTRALIA - China Stem Cells Holdings Ltd, unit of Golden Meditech Co Ltd raised its stake to ##.#% from ##.##%, by acquiring #.##% stake, or #.### mil ordinary shares, in Cordlife Ltd, a Melbourne- based owner and operator of cord blood banks.
Check this out. Two down and nine to go. Wow. Remember we own 10% of this venture and get 8.5% royalty on all the revenue.

Here it is. " Mr. Ludvigson is also a Director of China Stem Cells Ltd."

Didn't I read that David whatever his name was that is in the picture with Matt ran China Stem Cells LTD? You're making a connection to CordLife and I found this filing for them showing China Stem Cells LTD owns a good piece of CordLife. Am I right on this?
http://www.cordlife.com/news/pdf_announcements/announcements_27jul10.pdf
Interesting Mr Long. But I'm having trouble seeing where CBAI is involved in this. Are you just speculating that CBAI will win any storage contract for HoA or is there some connection I'm not seeing yet?
I'm serious about that. I have real teeth but don't want to have to pull any to get stem cells. I would prefer they use my fat stomach if it doesn't hurt. Off to watch my little girls (grandkids) cheerlead.
Don't know but that new China sub should be announced in the next month or two and then we find out.
I knew once I posted that China info you would be all over it. I think I have also figured out what our reward might be. A chance to buy in to the new yet unannounced China subsidiary based on the number of shares currently owned of CBAI stock today. Just like the Cordlife offering you posted. You think?
The beauty of this stuff is I'll be 62 in January and I'm thinking I need to ask Matt how I can store some of my stem cells now. I have some fat and teeth.
Very very interesting. This site is about 50 miles from Shenyang. Not sure if this site represents another cord blood facility or what. More interesting is in one of the pictures with Matt and his Chinese host is this guy. Where did he come from and why is he with us on this venture. Check him out.

You can always sell. It's a free world.
I don't see the connection between Cord:Use and Cyro-Save in Europe. We're in Argentina with Biocells. Does Cryo-Save have something there also? Why couldn't it be us doing something with Cord:Use?
I'm sure there are many things going on with CBAI at this moment. But until we get profitable or announce something that will obviously make us profitable our share price is going to be undervalued IMO. But I expect us to be profitable by the end of this year which isn't that far away. Much will happen between now and then. Should be fun.
IMO Nite is selling shares for someone.
My understanding is the government of Argentina passed a law that effectively made all stem cells public. Even those stored privately in country had to be listed on the public database. Several parents took the law to Court and all won the right to keep them private. Then the law was found unconstitutional. So for now it's a mute point and everything is fine. Just part of doing business in Latin America. IMO if it is at all possible to export the stems to our Lab in Vegas it would be best for all. But I don't know if that is possible from a Gov standpoint or if they could safely be shipped that far.
Surf, Patrick claims to be working for free. Perhaps we see filings soon but I wouldn't hold my breath.
No, I don't think it's a pump and dump. Just inept management IMO.
Then you got NOTHING. EOM.
