That to me is the beauty of storing. There is I think a 50% chance your child will be a match for you. If it is you can use it. But two issues that I addressed before. One, it's not clear how long they can be safely stored. We know it's at least 20 years but could be 100 years. And the other is the limited number of stems from cord blood. That's why this latest product Mr Long has been talking about is so important. It supposedly can increase the number of stems by up to four times. I'm sure one day there will be something that can multply it even more. The more stems you can get the more you and your child can use it.
Just imagine what could be done with those 20-40 years from now. Grow a new liver, heart, anything. People just see what the stems do today. But the opportunities are endless with more applications.
