Small world- I used to go to the Longshoremans ILA Clinic on Union Street and a college bud lived on Clinton street in one of those great brownstones. That’s Red Hook / Carrol Gardens area I believe.
I know, this is the NWBO board, no more off topic
I only was there once or twice in the 70’s with other college buds but it was the coolest place to me. We were all engineering majors so we weren’t the wildest of young folks.
I remember the sawdust but not the white tile floor. I was there around the same time since I was told the bathroom was for men & women, as well as legend of certain rock star & women “jointly using” the restroom.
McSorely’s was previously a men’s only clientele and begrudged having to go coed, hence the coed restroom, or at least that’s what I was told. That aside, the place was remarkable for its history and historic wooden bar furniture with the various carvings that patrons left behind, and the bartender that looked and sounded like a time traveler from the old days.
Sorry for my rambling, having gotten carried away with nostalgia!
The previous PR was clear there are steps, first the statisticians are unblinded to the database of trial data so they produce the analyzed data according to the SAP, then nwbo is unblinded to the database and the analytical data, and finally we all get unblinded as in the public.
I took that as unblinded to the world after NWBO is unblinded and reviews the results prior to wider unblinding.
That’s an interesting set of ideas! Can you file as new inventions or does novocure already have these augmentations covered?
Your position doesn’t convince in that given the time needs outlined (dL, statistical analysis to unblind nwbo, internal nwbo review, external disclosure) DL must have been reached and no way they’d embarrass themselves for SNO
Am I reading too much into LP stating the objective to make this new treatment available, rather than hedging with something like: advancing towards, or being an important step to, a new treatment?
I took it at face value that the intent and trial outcome aligns with submission of this iteration of vaccine ASAP.
Might that be McSorelies (sp?) with the sawdust on the floor? Quite an environment (40+ years ago when I was there) with college buddies.
Thanks to you and all the others that have shared important health info. It’s important and appreciated!
Flipper, thank you very much!
Wow Sojourner!!!
I thought I kept up with the science of nutrition and effects on health, however this presentation was a complete eye opener!
I knew sugar and especially fructose consumption is generally unhealthy but wow oh wow I never saw how bad and how direct the relationship is.
I long ago minimized sugar consumption and processed foods but not as careful as. I used to be. I will cut out more and scrutinize food labels more carefully. Definitely worth the time to view the video and look for more by this speaker.
Thanks so much!!
As you pointed out this was 2 years ago and it sounded to me that he referred to CarT around the time he was mentioning low percentage response. Multiple attempts/trials have failed so dcvax-l has had to deal with the challenges this doctor enumerated and to be successful I think dcvax has to have done enough better across multiple dimensions, or put more simply the secret sauce of process and techniques combine well enough to achieve improvement over SOC and other failed vaccines.
I’m not a medical doctor nor researcher in this field so this is just imho.
Thanks Sojourner55 !
Thanks Happy,
I successfully applied a low carb diet, that wasn’t as severe as the strict one, about 20 years ago losing 30 lbs from 200 to 168 lbs. I kept it off a couple of years before returning to bad habits and gradually putting it back on.
I may do it again for a while however I remember having some issues with insufficient roughage/fiber, putting it delicately
Hope,
Your approach is very good to establish your children’s accounts with NWBO seeds that grow to mighty oaks that will yield bountiful acorns while they can be used when young enough to make good use.
Thanks!
Thanks again, and the time factor is a good point!
Thanks very much Dr Bala !
I thought about saying it however refrained to keep things upbeat. If NWBO becomes what we are hoping then likely a lot will be till death since I’d leave it to my heirs for the step up in basis (yeah, death and taxes)
Flipper, I think I have the metabolic syndrome now or shortly. Would you mind sharing a little more re how you reversed?
15,000 steps per day every day any way?
Intermittent fasting like 12 hours between meals, or other key requirement?
Before my mother passed I dropped from 210 lbs to 170 lbs, but after as I recovered I gained back to 205
Pardon me Doctor, is the LP session going to be available online? Are you planning on listening tomorrow ?
For better or for worse, for richer or poorer, I bought still more shares of nwbo today at around 0.566. Picked up shares most of not all trading days for weeks.
I think this is what is called being married to a stock
Do we have any “ears on the wall” for LP’s session tomorrow ?
The recent PRs spell out each step as well as who’s the driver in getting to TLD. The CRO gets to DL, then the statisticians perform the math to achieve the trial results according to the SAP, next NWBO is unblinded to the results and internally reviews them with the SAB and then the trial results are presented (in this case at SNO in November.) so LP doesn’t have the hot potato until NWBO is unblinded. Can’t blame her for every perceived delay
Among many lost from my town, we lost a neighbor who worked at Cantor Fitzgerald, along with a number of his colleagues who were going to move from the twin towers to a new local office a few weeks later. Just one of so many lost in this tragedy and there have been more lost after the attack of cancers and other diseases acquired at and near ground zero by survivors and those that helped with the aftermath. My uncle escaped being an immediate victim having a business close to the towers, however he shortly developed strange and debilitating physical disease followed by an early dementia and ultimately death. Volunteers and first responders and utility workers, etc., helping with the aftermath developed diseases and slowly lost their lives, including a relative of mine that worked for Con Edison restoring/maintaining electricity services, and employees that took time off from work to volunteer in any way they could.
And it was such an exquisitely beautiful day that day that it felt surreal as I drove to my daughter’s school to pick her up under mandatory early closing less than 20 miles from ground zero. Yes we remember and listen to the names every 9/11.
Thanks Skitahoe and GGB
GLTA!!
I’m in the same boat but couldn’t resist buying again today.
This is the most conviction I have shown to any company and stock, and like you I remember past times of conviction that ended in complete losses where the due diligence looked very promising. And yet, what is one to do with high risk/reward swing for the fences situations like NWBO where my due diligence and logical assessment of all the info appear to support treatment and stock price success???
The biggest question that keeps coming to mind is how can the market have not valued nwbo higher than it has, especially when other companies that aren’t even at phase 3 are flying much higher?
Anyone else feel this way? Any helpful thoughts?
I’m not a lawyer yet I learned to leave wiggle room when making forward looking statements, so Les including the word “hopefully” might be such a qualifier, and LP does the same.
Why go fully unqualified and expose oneself to potential trouble especially when we see things like covid or other adversities manifest out of nowhere.
I also believe LP will likely make statements to the effect that DL has been achieved and that the statisticians are doing their thing with unblinded TLD expected before the end of this month, and trial results to be presented at SNO.
One can dream...
Yes it is most appropriate for the most esteemed trial lead investigator and the CTO who planted the seed and has been there to watch it grow over all these years, to present the dcvax-L trial results.
I bought a relatively small number of Celgene shares fairly late into its successful run, resulting in about a five-bagger totaling only about $50k in gain as of the BMY buyout. There were early investors that were in in the low single digit and sub-digit stock prices that went on to reap over 5000% gains.
I’m way long (for me) NWBO with a break even less than 5 cents away (that I worked down from around $5-$6 per share by continuing to accumulate low price shares) and I’m planning on holding for the elusive home run and possibly Celgene-like grand slam!
A complete loss would hurt some but success would be a game changer, and for all of humanity it would be a game changing treatment, which is most important because I saw first hand you can’t take it with you and in the last months you don’t care except for the comfort and security of those loved ones.
I apologize for preaching to the choir but I felt compelled.
Nwbo is giving a plenary presentation, no check that - it’s not nwbo it’s LL (UCLA) and MB (nwbo) and the description as I read it is to present the phase 3 trial results! In November at SNO!
Am I misunderstanding that? If not, then it is a given that DL and TLD will have been reached!
Yes the norm sounds right, with SNO being the conference climax so to speak
Yep and that would make the anticipation for more detailed results release and the plenary session at SNO very hot event(s)
I picked up some shares at the close and somewhat higher around midday. Go big or go home I guess
To me it sounds like LPs stock presentation that can be delivered in 15 minutes to a half hour however it wouldn’t take much time to also note a top line trial results punctuating the big difference in OS.
Not this time JR!
No snow job at SNO imho, although it might start a snowballing of the buy orders and sp
In particular it helps those that would have the worst odds without dcvax as I understand it.
Nice try but BOA is not the correct ticker so me thinks it isn’t so.
What was all that about?
Too late, I think I leaked when I saw the 0.005 sp this morning
Where’s whosleftholdendabag?
He is very long nwbo and an experienced successful biotech investor, and although it’s looking very good imho, I’d like who’s take on the recent news and SNO session.
