Organic Growing Systems, Inc. Appoints Kerry Johnson, PhD, Vice President of Science and Technology
Dr. Johnson Brings Extensive Agricultural and Horticultural Experience to Advance Product Effectiveness and Customer Base
Jan 14, 2009 8:00:00 AM
ALPHARETTA GA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/14/09 -- Organic Growing Systems, Inc. (OGSI), a subsidiary of Advanced Growing Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: AGWS), announces today that it has appointed Kerry Johnson, PhD, as the Senior Vice President of Science and Technology for OGSI. Dr. Johnson brings an immense level of experience and expertise after spending 24 years with Mississippi State University Extension Service. Dr. Johnson has worked with virtually every clientele group in Mississippi's agricultural and horticultural community. Some of these include livestock producers, timberland owners, farm pond managers, row crop farmers, vegetable growers, sod farm and golf course managers, landscape contractors, and ornamental nursery stock growers.
"For more than twenty years, I have worked with the MS nursery industry, especially in George County, the nursery capital of our state. For the last eight years, my work has been entirely in the horticulture field where I've concentrated on nurseries, turf, trees, vegetable production and home gardens in eleven coastal counties. My contacts, however, are not limited to Mississippi since I have participated in out of state meetings, trade shows and committees in several southern states from Texas to North Carolina and California," stated Dr. Johnson.
"Dr. Johnson saw the enormous potential of our products after conducting multiple field tests. His level of interest peaked and that lead him to approach us with the idea of teaming up," stated Mark Nichols, President and CEO of Organic Growing Systems, Inc. "We jumped at the possibility as his findings were like preaching to the choir as far as I was concerned but he added the ability to talk directly to academia and conduct tests and experiments we currently farm out to outside labs. He (Dr. Johnson) is very highly regarded throughout the Southeast in the turf and ornamental markets and by numerous commercial growers nationally. We are incredibly excited to have him on board."

(OTCBB: AGWS), manufacturer of TOP 4-2-2 Organic Fertilizer, has renewed its contract with Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) for another year. "According to top officials for HCFCD, they began utilizing our (TOP Organic) fertilizer because it meets their requirements to apply a product that is slow release and fast acting, reduces water consumption, and has a positive impact on soil chemistry," stated Marc Nichols, National Sales Manager for Organic Growing Systems, Inc.
Nichols added, "The volume sold to HCFCD has more than doubled from 2007 to 2008 and we expect similar or better gains for 2009 as we move into other areas with additional county contractors. With the help of Champions Hydro-Lawn, and its newly established distributorship, our combined sales teams will be able to more rapidly expand throughout Harris County and Houston Metro."
About Harris County Flood Control District:
The Harris County Flood Control District (the District) is a special purpose district created by the Texas Legislature in 1937 in response to devastating floods that struck the region in 1929 and 1935. The District's jurisdictional boundaries are set to coincide with Harris County, a community of more than 3.7 million people that includes the City of Houston. The other boundaries in which we operate -- those provided by nature -- are of the 22 primary watersheds within Harris County's 1,756 square miles. Each has its own independent flooding problems. Each presents unique challenges.
The District's drainage and flood control infrastructure is extensive, including more than 1,500 channels totaling about 2,500 miles in length (about the distance from Los Angeles to New York). Nature also challenges us with flat terrain, clay soils that do not absorb water very well and an average annual rainfall of 48 inches. The flooding problems in the community are severe. Flooding IS Harris County's natural disaster! Several hundred thousand homes and businesses are in the identified floodplain (not all flooding areas are mapped), and projects to reduce the risk of flooding are estimated in the billions of dollars.

Organic Growing Systems, Inc. Announces Completion of Capacity Upgrades
Wednesday November 5, 8:30 am ET
Three Separate Production Lines Now Fully Operational
ALPHARETTA, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Organic Growing Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Advanced Growing Systems, Inc. (OTC BB: AGWS - News) today announced the completion of significant capacity upgrades at their facility in Monticello MS in anticipation of the rapidly growing demand in multiple regions of the United States for their organic fertilizer products.
Organic fertilizer manufacturing capacity is being increased from 20 tons per day to over 150 tons per day. “Our goal is to finalize our output at plus or minus 200 tons per day; ten times our past capacity with this current upgrade. Everything has been completed as far as the equipment upgrades, however we are working through the tiresome process of test, tune and refinement. I would like to see 15-20% (2-3 truck loads per day) of capacity by the middle of next week, 25-40% (3-4 truck loads per day) of capacity within 3 weeks and 50-75% (5-7 truck loads per day) capacity by the end of November, early December. We will then evaluate our feedstock supplies on a local level to determine the feasibility of additional Mississippi upgrades,” stated Mark Nichols, President and CEO of Organic Growing Systems, Inc.
Nichols added, “The upgrades we have made are numerous and take us from reliance on one small line feeding into one gas powered dryer, to three much larger, state of the art lines that can feed to either our gas powered dryer or our much larger electric powered convection oven dryer. Down time for repairs and maintenance will be less frequent and less costly as each line can run independently of the others minimizing both our production dependence and risk.”

true, although I always thought it'd be a nice means of integration with the fertilizer. But it doesn't look like the fertilizer was really getting integrated anyways apart from the contacts.
Letsee where this goes. But you're right, it's nice to have the main expense off our backs
Finally. I have been waiting for this move to be made by the company. The huge monkey will finally be off of our backs. I do not know anyone who invested here for the nurseries anyways. There is a reason it was up 19% Friday me thinks...
"After careful consideration of all relevant factors, the AGWS Board, acting as the majority shareholder of Advanced Nurseries, has come to the determination that a dissolution of Advanced Nurseries is fair to and in the best interests of the Company and its shareholders"
"The Company will continue to focus its efforts on the continuing operations of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Organic Growing Systems, Inc."
I am sure we will be hearing more about this in the form of a press release soon.
For anyone who has pm'd me, I cannot reply but yes I am very bullish on AGWS. 2009 I think we finally blow through the roof.
NURSERY LIQUIDATION
Looks like we're ditching the nursery division. I wonder what kind of impact this will have on the organic fertilizer division? Hopefully it'll be for good. I know they were dragging us down, but letsee what happens now. Hopefully the whole company isn't coming down.
I did like this last part: "The proceeds of any transactions consummated under the Plan of Liquidation will then be used to pay Advanced Nurseries claims and obligations, with any remainder distributed to shareholders. "
roger wilco, i dont have pm's. The company looks like it has very good long-term potential. Once they get their 2nd and 3rd lines up for the fertilizer I believe it'll seriously help to improve their brand name since it'll increase their production by 5-7 times. However, their nursery business has been struggling due to bad timing w/ the weather & housing crisis. The company is still pretty deep in the hole when it comes to their financing but I believe they can get towards more positive ground within 2 years time.
Either way, the current market cap is unjustified and they've been good keeping a steady share structure.
Organic Growing Systems, Inc. Engages Double H Equipment, Inc. for Final Design and Construction of 2nd & 3rd Fertilizer Production Lines
Wednesday September 3, 8:45 am ET
Increases Capacity by 5-7 Times
ALPHARETTA, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Organic Growing Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Advanced Growing Systems, Inc. (OTC BB: AGWS - News) has retained Double H Equipment, Inc. as its engineering, procurement and construction contractor to expand capacity at its Monticello, MS manufacturing facility.
“Double H has been retained to complete construction of our 2nd line, completely install a vastly larger 3rd line, redesign the original line and enhance the storage capacity and flow of goods within the factory,” stated Mark Nichols, President, CEO of Organic Growing Systems, Inc. “Upon completion of our 2nd and 3rd lines, scheduled for early October, we anticipate a 5-7 times increase in production capacity. Currently our sales force is receiving a multitude of orders for our fertilizer product, and we believe that we will be selling at full capacity within days of our additional lines being up and running. Our past experiences with Double H have been extremely positive, they have over-delivered and under-promised on every job to date.”

i take back that minimal comment, it was in warrants after all at prices above the current... which should be good.
financials are out. Not beautiful. Company still hasn't shown the ability to be sustainable yet. And it looks like they're raising capital now. Minimal, fortunately. When the drought ends, and the fertilizer really takes off from extended capacity, we'll have a real beauty. But that might take a while.
I think the liquidity section captured the full picture nicely:
At June 30, 2008, the Company had total current assets of approximately $3,073,000, consisting primarily of accounts receivable and inventories. Current liabilities of approximately $4,471,000, consisting primarily of accounts payable, accrued expenses, regular and convertible notes payable and a working line-of-credit. The Company has accumulated a net loss from inception through June 30, 2008 of approximately $12,448,000. Stockholders' equity as of June 30, 2008 was approximately $437,000. The Company has recorded gross revenues of approximately $7,293,000 for the nine months ended June 30, 2008.

nsomniyak: a conversation with IR on Friday and they claim it will only be a day or two before they file the 10q and the 'e' is removed.
What is of importance to me is the increase in revenues from the organic fertilizer division and how much does the nursery division draw the overall profit down.
They claim to be hardly able to keep up with the organic fertilizer supply but the nursery division is being hampered by the drought and downturn in housing starts in that part of the country.
Overall I see a very good future with this company, the 'q' should be fair to good since I do not think they had all three fertilizer processing lines running all quarter..
we shall see
AGWSE - what are the prospects for this company to lose the "E"? Is there a time line?

Market growing for Alpharetta firm's 'chicken litter' fertilizer
By DOUG NURSE
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
It's a fertile world for Organic Growing Systems in Alpharetta.
The newly formed company is cashing in on the rising price of synthetic fertilizer by specializing in reconstituted "chicken litter," as it's delicately put.
Bob Andres/bandres@ajc.com
Chris Nichols (right) and nephew Marc Nichols of Organic Growing Systems in Alpharetta are cashing in on the rising price of synthetic fertilizer by specializing in a natural alternative.
As the price of traditional, petroleum-based fertilizer skyrocketed 200 percent to 300 percent since 2005, more and more farmers and sod-growers are turning to natural alternatives, said Chris Nichols, the company CEO.
"Everyone is looking at us like we're the hot chick at the prom," said Marc Nichols, Chris' nephew and national sales manager. "Today we sold a third of what we did last year."
And the future looks even better.
In September, the company had 11 steady customers; now it has close to 200, including turf companies, farmers, cities and golf courses, as well as Piedmont Park.
"We placed an order with them last year, and we're placing a second order this year," said Chris Nelson, chief operating officer for Piedmont Park Conservancy. "That should send a message that we're happy with the product."
Chris Nichols said that in January 2007, diammonium phosphate cost $252 a ton. Now it's $1,050 a ton.
He can sell chicken manure fertilizer for $350 to $450 a ton.
Organic Growing Systems, a subsidiary of Advance Growing Systems, has one plant, a 30,000-square-foot facility in Monticello, Miss., that produces up to 30 tons of nitrogen-rich chicken fertilizer a day. But Chris Nichols is expanding the Mississippi plant to generate up to 200 tons of chicken litter fertilizer a day by this fall. He also is planning to build another, larger facility near Gainesville within two years and others in Texas and California within five years.
"We're trying to be first at the top," Marc Nichols said. "We're trying to be the national brand."
It was a curious trail that brought Chris Nichols, a financier, to the chicken manure industry. His brother (and Marc's father), Mark Nichols, a landscape and sod expert, was brought in to look at the dead lawn of an expansive home in west Cobb County in 2003. He consulted with another expert from Texas, who brought a load of fertilizer, told them to spread it before and after the replacement sod was laid, and water it like a regular lawn. Mark Nichols was skeptical. Usually, that much fertilizer and that little water will burn sod to a crisp.
Mark Nichols came back in a month and found a thriving lawn. He promptly called his finance guru brother and told him they had to get in on this. Chris Nichols did research and decided it was doable. In 2007, they secured financing and bought a plant in Mississippi from an 81-year-old man who knew the product but not the financing and marketing.
After about a year, Organic Growing Systems overhauled its sales force and business took off.
The beauty of chicken manure as a fertilizer is that it becomes soil, feeding beneficial microbes in the dirt, which continues to nourish the plant, said Chris Nichols. Over time, farmers need less and less of the fertilizer. Synthetic fertilizer feeds the plant but doesn't add anything to the soil, he said.
Virtually all of the chicken fertilizer is consumed by plants or rebuilding soil, said John Chapman, general manager of a 2,500-acre turf farm in Foley, Ala., and an Organic Growing Systems customer.
"There's nothing negative about the product," Chapman said. "This stuff flat works."
For poultry farmers, manure is a massive headache, something to get rid of, and they're happy to sell it for the cost of shipping. It's hauled in dump trucks to the plant, where it's semi-dried, sterilized, mixed with other stuff like ground feathers for protein, a little yucca for the odor, shells from shrimp and whatnot for binder, and then made into pellets by squeezing it like Play-doh through little holes.
The fact the product is environmentally friendly is a plus, but for most customers, cost and effectiveness are the driving factors, Marc Nichols said.
"It's not that they're green," he said. "They want it to be good for the plant, but it has to be good for the pocketbook."
Chapman said that using natural fertilizer pays for itself over the long haul.
"Used to, it wasn't cost effective for the first few years, but since synthetic fertilizer is going up, it's now an easier decision to make," Chapman said. "The more you do it, the less you use. That's not the case with most product. It's a long-term thing. Once you look at the big picture, it becomes even more cost-effective."

Organic Growing Systems, Inc. Announces New Distributor in South Georgia
Monday June 30, 8:25 am ET
Daylily Growers Embrace Benefits of New All-Greaux 4-2-4 Organic Fertilizer
ALPHARETTA, GA--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 30, 2008 -- Organic Growing Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Advanced Growing Systems, Inc. (OTC BB:AGWS.OB - News), is proud to announce a new distributor in South Georgia. Gavin Horticulture, Inc., a leader in the green industry, with locations in both Cairo and Albany, GA, will handle sales of TOP Organic Fertilizers regionally, as well as the new All-Greaux 4-2-4 for daylily farmers nationally.
Well-known daylily hybridizers Floyd McNeel, Ron Bonner, and Ted Preuss, all users of the All-Greaux 4-2-4 fertilizer, are working in conjunction with Mark Gavin, President of Gavin Horticulture, to help position All-Greaux as the foremost fertilizer in the daylily industry.
The daylily -- Hemerocallis -- is one of the most hybridized of all garden plants. In the search for new traits such as new colors and shapes, registrations of new hybrids are being made by the thousands each year. Hybridizers have extended the plant's color range from the familiar yellow and orange, to vibrant reds, purples, lavenders, greenish tones, near-black, near-white, and more. However, a blue daylily is a milestone yet to be reached.
Daylilies grown with Organic Growing System's All-Greaux 4-2-4 fertilizer have won numerous awards in competitions throughout the South, and its use has been shown to greatly increase the yield of fans (new plants). Organic Growing System's new All-Greaux 4-2-4 is the ideal organic fertilizer for flowering ornamentals, especially daylilies, as it contains a balanced blend of essential hormones and micronutritients.
Mark Gavin became a distributor of TOP Organic Fertilizers because he saw the regional demand for the product in the marketplace, and received several direct customer requests. "This fertilizer was making such a noticeable difference on plant growth and health that my customers started asking for TOP 4-2-2 and All-Greaux 4-2-4 by name," said Gavin. "That's when I knew it was time to start carrying the products on a larger scale."
Organic Growing Systems is assisting Gavin Horticulture in becoming a national distributor for All-Greaux 4-2-4. Gavin is currently working with major daylily growers to ramp up sales, and has jumped into the All-Greaux 4-2-4 business with an initial four truckload order (over 4,400 forty-pound bags). The company is setting up a separate distribution network to sell All-Greaux 4-2-4, and is looking to private label brand the product for national retail sales by the fall.
In addition to his role as an organic fertilizer distributor, Mark Gavin is also a customer. He is the owner of Sumter Sod, a large turf farm in Americus, GA. Together with farm manager Chip Block, they have used over 65-tons of TOP 4-2-2 on a portion of Sumter Sod Farm.
"Typically after a test order, larger and larger areas of a farm will incorporate TOP into production," said Marc Nichols, National Sales Manager for Organic Growing Systems, Inc. "And we are happy to report that preliminary results on Sumter Sod Farm point to this conclusion as well." Nichols continued, "we are equally delighted that since Mr. Gavin is experiencing the benefits of our fertilizer on his own farm, he will be able to communicate the benefits of his first hand experiences to his existing customers and potential new ones."
In addition to daylilies, Gavin believes that the "All-Greaux 4-2-4 has tremendous potential as a leading fertilizer for both roses and camellias, and that TOP 4-2-2 is one of the best all around organic fertilizers on the market today."

Ten Tips for the Weekend Gardener
Tuesday June 24, 8:00 am ET
TOP 4-2-2 Organic Fertilizer Feeds Soil And Builds Healthy Plants
ALPHARETTA, GA--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 24, 2008 -- No matter how many technological advances Americans make, one thing is for sure -- we can't control the weather. Some areas of our country are experiencing dust-raising drought, while other parts of the nation are underwater. Crops are being affected on a wide scale, and the price of food is going up too. For weekend gardeners and professionals alike, it has become increasingly important to learn new methods of planting with confidence and following sustainable gardening practices.
Organic Growing Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Advanced Growing Systems, Inc. (OTC BB:AGWS.OB - News) is leading the way in the green industry as one of the fastest growing suppliers of an organic fertilizer made with processed chicken litter that is perfect for any weather conditions. The company's TOP 4-2-2 Organic Fertilizer is completely safe for children and animals and does not cause toxic runoff problems in wet weather conditions or in coastal regions where chemical runoff has resulted in dangerous red tides and persistent dead zones where sea and plant life cannot grow. In areas with little rainfall, this slow-release nitrogen fertilizer needs less water to settle in, and adds nutrients back into the soil that nurture and strengthen plants.
According to John Strickland, COO of Organic Growing Systems, the country must embrace sustainable agriculture and green-efficiency to preserve the planet, and sees these practices as essential for both large scale growers and backyard gardeners. "With rising synthetic fertilizer costs, rising gas prices and rising food prices, we must find ways to insure the stability of our crops and plant life. The best place to start is always with the roots, and of course, the better the soil, the stronger the plant."
Mr. Strickland offers the following 10 tips for maintaining a healthy garden:
-- Depending on your geographic location, choose drought-tolerant or
water-loving native or non-invasive exotic plants, and always purchase the
best quality plants and shrubs -- ask your retailer about plant life
guarantees -- be sure to keep your receipts.
-- Group plants together based on how much shade, sun and watering they
need.
-- Start your gardens off with organic fertilizer and other organic
products. If switching over from chemical to organic products, do it in
steps -- adding more organic fertilizer and less synthetic over a two-week
period.
-- Fertilize and mulch garden beds and potted plants -- the water will
evaporate into the mulch and fertilizer, and keep the plants protected and
watered as needed.
-- Water your plants early in the morning, and water them at the root
zone, for a longer period of time, but less often. Watering longer but less
often encourages hardy plants with deeper roots. After a heavy rain, skip
the regular watering regime.
-- Save water by using a full watering can rather than a hose, and bend
from the knees to protect your back from the weight of the water and the
can.
-- Accept less-than-lush gardens and lawns during dry periods, and be
aware that flowers, plants and lawns will regenerate after heavy rains.
-- Clear out dead trees and trim back leafy trees to allow more light in
on lawns and gardens.
-- Check automatic sprinkler systems to be sure they are operating
properly and not watering the sidewalk and driveway, and re-adjust the time
and positioning of the sprinklers as needed.
-- For lawn care, mow high and use a sharp blade -- 3 inches is
recommended. High growth increases grass' tolerance to drought and
insect/disease problems, and clean cut grass blades lose less water than
tattered cut blades of grass.
TOP 4-2-2 Organic Fertilizer from Organic Growing Systems is available in 40-pound bags at garden shops and home care stores throughout the South, and will be available nationally by 2009. A 40-lb bag retails for approximately $20. For more information please visit: www.organicgrowingsystems.com.

Organic Growing Systems, Inc. Expands to Knoxville Tennessee
Tuesday June 17, 8:00 am ET
Golf Courses and Equestrian Community Embrace Benefits of Organic Fertilizer
ALPHARETTA, GA--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 17, 2008 -- Organic Growing Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Advanced Growing Systems, Inc. (OTC BB:AGWS.OB - News), announces that Pro-Organics has begun distribution of its line of organic fertilizers in Eastern Tennessee. Pro-Organics was established this month as a division of Proscapes Landscape & Design Group, Inc. located in Knoxville, TN (www.proscapestn.com). Pro-Organics was built as a distribution arm for Proscapes based solely on their success with Organic Growing System's TOP 4-2-2 organic fertilizer.
Jeff Least, formerly with Lesco in the Knoxville area, joined Pro-Organics as the Division Head on June 3rd. Mr. Least has a strong background in turf management and has worked with several top golf courses in the Southeast since 1999. "I am excited about the opportunity to sell an organic product that is effective, versatile and works as well as, if not better than the synthetic products I have sold in the past. With the cost of synthetics going through the roof, this just makes sense."
Mike and Katie Wyrosdick, Founders of Proscapes, stated, "We strongly believe that Knoxville and the entire Central Tennessee Valley is perfect for the rapid growth and acceptance of organic sustainable fertilizers. We created this division to capitalize on both the environmental and economic benefits that an effective organic fertilizer brings."
Mark Nichols, President and CEO of Organic Growing Systems, Inc., stated, "Mr. Wyrosdick and his new team at Pro-Organics run a solid operation. They dominate the local landscape and hardscape market and intend to do the same with organic fertilizer." Nichols added, "After traveling with Mr. Least for two days, not only did we take orders for over 50 tons of TOP 4-2-2, it became clear that his depth of knowledge in the golf course maintenance industry is unmatched. At present, he is lining up several truckloads to be delivered during late summer and early fall for golf course applications. His quote to me was 'he is only getting started.' Based on our combined levels of excitement about our prospects in this market, we believe that the upside is compelling."
Nichols continued, "Another area that Pro-Organics plans to target aggressively is the equestrian community. Mr. Least has strong connections with this prolific group throughout Tennessee and Kentucky. The importance of organically fertilizing pastures that are grazed on by high dollar show and race horses to promote the overall health of the animals, is rapidly gaining market acceptance. We believe that this will be a burgeoning market throughout the Southeast."
Metropolitan Knoxville was recently ranked as the "best place to live in the United States and Canada" among cities with a population of fewer than 1 million people. With the incredible natural surroundings, Knoxville is truly a special place to live and work.

I hear ya KQ. No pumping out of that firm...
I am anxious to see what April's numbers through the year's end brings. My hunch is right now is a prime time to add if anyone is building a position...or new to the stock.

i gotta be honest, it impresses me that WSR owned up to being wrong on their estimates rather than trying to mask it one way or the other with a fluffy update. Not common to see that 'round here.
Advanced Growing Systems Adds South Florida Island to List of Customers
Tuesday June 3, 8:00 am ET
Fisher Island at the Forefront of Opulence and Environmental Responsibility
ALPHARETTA, GA,--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 3, 2008 -- Organic Growing Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Advanced Growing Systems, Inc. (OTC BB:AGWS.OB - News), announces a strategic relationship with Fisher Island, one of the most exclusive island addresses in all of South Florida with the highest per capita income in the United States. Accessible only by boat or helicopter, Fisher Island is home to several well known celebrities, entrepreneurs, entertainers and athletes.
Through its subsidiary company Organic Growing Systems, Inc., Advanced Growing Systems has become a supplier of organic fertilizer to Fisher Island through its distributor Florida Mulch, Inc. In environmentally sensitive South Florida, where several municipalities are banning the use of synthetic fertilizing because of its detrimental effects, Fisher Island is an example of a community that is taking the lead in protecting its environment.
"As we are an island community, we have several issues relating to the safety of our soil and our water," states Michael Morel, Director of Horticulture for Fisher Island. "From soil nutrient deficiencies and salt build up, to toxic run off, we are doing everything in our power to build up those soils to increase soil microbe levels, increase water holding capacity, and reduce leaching of essential nutrients. By not using synthetics we are also eliminating the introduction of more salts into the soil profile."
The island, which sits approximately three miles off the coast of Miami Beach, was purchased by real estate mogul Carl Graham Fisher in the early 1900s and was later owned and developed by a member of the Vanderbilt family. (A detailed history of Fisher Island appears below.)
"Supplying our organic fertilizer to Fisher Island is a major step for us as a company," said Marc Nichols, National Sales Manager for Organic Growing Systems, Inc. "We are very fortunate to have such an esteemed community as Fisher Island as a customer. This will certainly lead the way for other communities to follow."
The Fisher Island Horticulture and Landscaping Department is a full service operation comprised of landscape development, landscape maintenance and irrigation maintenance. The Department has a 7-day a week landscape staff, an on site nursery, and the Island's most extensive equipment inventory.
"We are constantly striving to improve our maintenance program on the island," says Morel. "By using products which are environmentally safe and by veering away from synthetic fertilizers and making the move to organics, we feel we are making a responsible choice."
About Fisher Island
Deep in the throes of creating Miami Beach, real estate investor/developer, Carl Graham Fisher, turned his attention to a wedge of land with coconut palms and mangroves cast adrift in Biscayne Bay.
Carl Fisher bought the 216 odd-acres that now bear his name from Dana A. Dorsey, South Florida's first black millionaire. Fisher promptly set up a new corporation, the Peninsula Terminal Company, and embarked on building deepwater docks and expanding the island to fit his grand scheme. Political pressure thwarted Fisher's persistent attempts to secure state and federal dredge permits.
Fifteen years before his death, Fisher's path crossed that of William Kissam Vanderbilt II, eldest son of William K. Vanderbilt and great-grandson of famed "Commodore" Cornelius Vanderbilt. Fisher coveted Vanderbilt's 250-foot yacht, the "Eagle." But no less than Vanderbilt, an avid sportsman and frequent visitor to Miami and Key West, desired Fisher's property on Biscayne Bay. "My island for your boat," Fisher proposed. Vanderbilt promptly accepted. So was the legendary trade.
In 1925 with initial deed in hand, America's richest sportsman set about fashioning a private retreat rivaled by few in the world. He built a Mediterranean-style mansion facing the Atlantic Ocean where he and his wife Rosamund enjoyed a long storied history entertaining the luminaries of its time. Vanderbilt encircled his stately mansion with lush landscaping, gracious guest houses, tennis courts, and a swimming pool.
Today, 81 years later, Fisher Island has become a world-class private island residential community and exclusive club where distinguished members enjoy the lovely Vanderbilt Mansion's main Club, its charming ocean side private Beach Club and other intimate restaurants, its superb Mediterranean-inspired Tennis Center, its lovely circa 1925 cottages and guest suites, its elaborate deep-sea water marinas, stunning 9 hole golf course and spectacular Spa Internazionale.

Organic Growing Systems, Inc. Expands to Birmingham Alabama
Friday May 30, 8:00 am ET
ALPHARETTA, GA--(MARKET WIRE)--May 30, 2008 -- Organic Growing Systems, Inc. a subsidiary of Advanced Growing Systems, Inc. (OTC BB:AGWS.OB - News) announces that Gulf Coast Organics, Inc. has begun large scale distribution on a major level in the city of Birmingham, AL. Gulf Coast currently supplies Craft Turf Farms of Foley Alabama who has been using Organic Growing Systems' TOP Organic Fertilizer extensively on its 2,400 acre turf grass operation.
"The impetus for using organic fertilizer was prompted by the need to rebuild the soil after turf harvest," said Craft Turf Farms General Manager John Chapman. "Along with the cost advantage, the environmentally friendly aspects of the product have me sold on this organic fertilizer. So much so, that I strongly encouraged Gulf Coast Organics to spread the word and supply other growers and landscapers with the product."
Mark Nichols, President and CEO of Organic Growing Systems, Inc. stated, "Gulf Coast's new site in Birmingham will be operated solely by Mr. Jerry McManus, a long time veteran of the fertilizer industry and organics in general. Mr. McManus started distributing fertilizers and making relationships in 1969. Mr. McManus first learned about the true positive economic and environmental benefits of organics on his cattle ranch in Texas. While raising Champion cattle, he observed that the heads that grazed in organic pastures gained an average of 1.4 pounds more per day than those raised in the traditionally fertilized fields." Nichols adds, "For the last eight years, Mr. McManus, has been strictly using organics in his thriving landscape business in both Texas and Alabama."
When Nichols asked why Mr. McManus had chosen Birmingham, Mr. McManus replied, "Because it has a challenging soil structure, complete with rock and clay and virtually devoid of organic matter. This is a metropolitan area that we can really make a difference." When Mr. McManus was asked who his target market in Birmingham would be, he was very quick to reply, "I've already sold the City of Hoover, and have a number of award winning landscapes in the prestigious community of Greystone. I've made relationships with growers, cities, counties, schools, sod farmers, landscapers, homeowners, churches, sports fields, and golf courses."
Nichols states, "With the water savings abilities, the non-toxic aspects, and the ever-increasing costs of synthetic fertilizers, Jerry McManus and John Chapman are the right match with the right product for the growing city of Birmingham." Nichols continues, "Adding distribution is a key focus for us as a company right now. We are actively seeking distribution partners throughout the southeast as we continue to gain market share. Working with companies like Gulf Coast Organics, as well as our other distributors, is helping us to achieve our goals of building a national brand and placing us among the leading fertilizer manufacturers."

I think there were some that sold based on the fiscal second quarter financials were not up to expectations. We are now in the 3rd month of the 3rd fiscal quarter and I think we will see 2 strong quarters to round out the fiscal year.
Read here for some reasons Wallstreet Resources attributes to the revenue variance.

does it look like a round of company selling stock to finace itself going on here???
Interesting day trades wise. Every morning trade shows a delayed match trade at the Bid. Looks like MM manipulation games and then some real movement. Some decent sized sales at the Bid and the biggest buy of the day at the Ask for 25K. Perhaps its time for another move upward.
Thanks rocket - just listened to it - sounds great
Like KQforever said, you can listen to it right here:http://www.investorcalendar.com/IC/CEPage.asp?ID=128338
Presently, they seem to be just barely keeping up with the demand of their organic fertilizer.
I like that they do not intend to be a "20 million dollar company but a 200 million dollar company". I like their lofty goals, tenacity and top notch management team.
True. Definitely IHub money has not gotten this to .51, which in my opinion is a good thing. I think slowly people will take notice no matter where they discover this stock from. I think people who like POT or COIN will take notice of AGWS at such a small PPS eventually...
you can still listen to the presentation i think. i know i listened to it yesterday via the link in the pr.
DRspin looking for the transcript of that call - any ideas where I can find it - probably have to wait a couple days - thanks in advance
wowowow...great call hope u all listened...loota big #s being trown around for hopeful future revenuue streams...
Still here too. Finally back around my average price here. Shoo! :)
You're right, its all about baby steps right now but this is slowly turning around. Some poorly trained trader(s) has been hitting the Bid all week when they could have, with a little patience, made far more money selling at the Ask which is on the rise. The next few months should reveal the progress the company has quietly made in the background. We are slowly getting noticed as we gained another Board mark today and are up to 21. Welcome to the board whoever you are. Here's to you doubling your money in the next few months.
needless to say we've been doing great & the number of people who know about it seem limited at best. nice.
