Fisher Island at the Forefront of Opulence and Environmental Responsibility

ALPHARETTA, GA,--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 3, 2008 -- Organic Growing Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Advanced Growing Systems, Inc. (OTC BB:AGWS.OB - News), announces a strategic relationship with Fisher Island, one of the most exclusive island addresses in all of South Florida with the highest per capita income in the United States. Accessible only by boat or helicopter, Fisher Island is home to several well known celebrities, entrepreneurs, entertainers and athletes.

Through its subsidiary company Organic Growing Systems, Inc., Advanced Growing Systems has become a supplier of organic fertilizer to Fisher Island through its distributor Florida Mulch, Inc. In environmentally sensitive South Florida, where several municipalities are banning the use of synthetic fertilizing because of its detrimental effects, Fisher Island is an example of a community that is taking the lead in protecting its environment.

"As we are an island community, we have several issues relating to the safety of our soil and our water," states Michael Morel, Director of Horticulture for Fisher Island. "From soil nutrient deficiencies and salt build up, to toxic run off, we are doing everything in our power to build up those soils to increase soil microbe levels, increase water holding capacity, and reduce leaching of essential nutrients. By not using synthetics we are also eliminating the introduction of more salts into the soil profile."

The island, which sits approximately three miles off the coast of Miami Beach, was purchased by real estate mogul Carl Graham Fisher in the early 1900s and was later owned and developed by a member of the Vanderbilt family. (A detailed history of Fisher Island appears below.)

"Supplying our organic fertilizer to Fisher Island is a major step for us as a company," said Marc Nichols, National Sales Manager for Organic Growing Systems, Inc. "We are very fortunate to have such an esteemed community as Fisher Island as a customer. This will certainly lead the way for other communities to follow."

The Fisher Island Horticulture and Landscaping Department is a full service operation comprised of landscape development, landscape maintenance and irrigation maintenance. The Department has a 7-day a week landscape staff, an on site nursery, and the Island's most extensive equipment inventory.

"We are constantly striving to improve our maintenance program on the island," says Morel. "By using products which are environmentally safe and by veering away from synthetic fertilizers and making the move to organics, we feel we are making a responsible choice."

About Fisher Island

Deep in the throes of creating Miami Beach, real estate investor/developer, Carl Graham Fisher, turned his attention to a wedge of land with coconut palms and mangroves cast adrift in Biscayne Bay.

Carl Fisher bought the 216 odd-acres that now bear his name from Dana A. Dorsey, South Florida's first black millionaire. Fisher promptly set up a new corporation, the Peninsula Terminal Company, and embarked on building deepwater docks and expanding the island to fit his grand scheme. Political pressure thwarted Fisher's persistent attempts to secure state and federal dredge permits.

Fifteen years before his death, Fisher's path crossed that of William Kissam Vanderbilt II, eldest son of William K. Vanderbilt and great-grandson of famed "Commodore" Cornelius Vanderbilt. Fisher coveted Vanderbilt's 250-foot yacht, the "Eagle." But no less than Vanderbilt, an avid sportsman and frequent visitor to Miami and Key West, desired Fisher's property on Biscayne Bay. "My island for your boat," Fisher proposed. Vanderbilt promptly accepted. So was the legendary trade.

In 1925 with initial deed in hand, America's richest sportsman set about fashioning a private retreat rivaled by few in the world. He built a Mediterranean-style mansion facing the Atlantic Ocean where he and his wife Rosamund enjoyed a long storied history entertaining the luminaries of its time. Vanderbilt encircled his stately mansion with lush landscaping, gracious guest houses, tennis courts, and a swimming pool.

Today, 81 years later, Fisher Island has become a world-class private island residential community and exclusive club where distinguished members enjoy the lovely Vanderbilt Mansion's main Club, its charming ocean side private Beach Club and other intimate restaurants, its superb Mediterranean-inspired Tennis Center, its lovely circa 1925 cottages and guest suites, its elaborate deep-sea water marinas, stunning 9 hole golf course and spectacular Spa Internazionale.
