Just to be clear, there is no recall (yet), though I used the word also. I suppose that offering new chips for old is a recall of sorts, but Intel did not use the word.
Also, to be clear, I am just arguing possibilities, not trying to awfulize about a possibly insignificant problem.
Having said that, if this does turn out to be a ubiquitous problem, the damage to the reputation of Itanic would be much greater than the cost to manufacture replacement units.
