Schloss, HD has big challenges ahead. I'm in this business in Atlanta and watch HD and LOW very closely. You would be amazed at the loyalty that HD has lost to LOW in their home market. HD is not the same HD that it was it's first 15 years. Nardelli is now purely focused on the bottomline. That is not what got HD to what they are today. HD is becoming the K-mart of the industry as LOW is performing more like the WMT.
In addition, they are in an industry that at best will only grow at about 4%. IMO HD is over-priced at 30 and we could see the low 20's again soon. The industry is very over stored now and demographics will start to pull away from them now. This months earnings report should be interesting. Maybe they will do well this quarter but in the long run I'm seeing problems ahead.
