The music business is probably equal to wallstreet in that regard.. Brutal, merciless, unforgiving, evil.. have I left anything out??
I gave up in my mid 20s and decided to just play my instruments for personal enjoyment. When I was 20-21 we rented a space station and had an agreement with the owner to allow us to use it as a practice hangout.. Sounds strange, but everynight for 2 years from 6pm till sometimes 3-4 in the morning we could raise hell and not have to concern ourselves with parents/neighbors.. Played till my fingers bled.. and in the end here I am- trading stocks on wallstreet.. Who woulda thought??
