I never liked the team's chances after Spezza Staal and Crosby were left off the team - Canada looked Old and tired - well because - they are old and tired. They had no scoring - Look at the russians - Malkin Ovechkin and The Kovalenko guy ( Which ever guy has the 36 goals).
Gretz messed up IMHO he went with old guard and I never liked it from Day one - that big ice surface - Our young guns would of done something - BUT instead we had an old team and young guns either on Taxi squad or home.
Thats my rant this outcome does not surprise me. And WTF is iginla doing on Defense on the PP. I have always felt that having forwards on D during a PP just plain stupid. and that partially comes from my Junior A years where I was a D and sat the PP and watched some clumsy Forward who couldnt even skate backwards take my spot ( 20 years later and still bitter about it and the funniest thing about it is that one Forward who always took my spot is a parttime employee of mine )
