In response to your query, I have thought long about that drill point as well. I'm thinking that with all of that technical data led them to that possibility of the anamoly going over to block 2. Thus, I am theorizing that they want to test it as soon as possible BEFORE ERHE signs the PSC with their partner KNOWING well ahead of time that PXD had dropped out in DEC. In essence, I'm thinking they chose that spot to prove whether the oil bearing structure crossed over to block 2. Once proven, it would afford CVX enough time to work out a deal with ERHE before the JOA and PSC is finally signed and an enormous opportunity lost. IMHO
