I will always have a bleeding heart. I just think that the geopolitical situation has gone beyond that. It doesn't matter whether you are for war or peace any more. The sides have already been drawn up, it is now just a matter of whose side you are on. The holy war started on 09/11 and WW3 is now a reality. Where do we go from here? Only God knows.

I suppose it was love for the veterans that prompted those same protesters to spit on returning service men and call them "baby killers". Give me a break and come back to the real world.

As for the "bleeding heart", I certainly cannot speak for you and I hope that what you say is true. Experience tells us though, that such is not the norm among most liberals, who are very selective in the "values" and "causes" they support, including a vapid preference for things and causes anti-american over those that support America. America is far from perfect (and moving further away all the time), but I cannot think of any other nation on earth in all of history that has sacrificed more with less personal gain in mind. Yet this is the same nation that liberals criticize most, while giving a pass to loathsome nations and those with far more self serving motives. That same mind set is very evident by many on this board.
