And the beauty of this method is that the larger network you have (think of it like an HMO plan or like amazon) the more people feel pressured to join, until it becomes impossible to compete against. Take amazon or ebay... anybody can make a website like that but why haven't they been taken over? because they had a first-mover's advantage and they built up their networks to the point where no one else could compete.
I'm hoping that's what's going to happen with the Pharmajanes and JanesCard model. JanesCard exists purely to promote network loyalty. It's a way of keeping people in the network and used to shopping within the network.
My only worry is if someone like weedmaps all of a sudden decided to also implement a online shopping mechanism. At this point PJ's is still an infant and would get crushed. But down the line when PJ's gets bigger the threat will be less and less....
