Try walking into Best Buy. Relative to a year ago, I see the following:

- Many new 2-in-1 devices with innovative conversion mechanisms
- Touch is nearly ubiquitous
- Majority of desktops now All-in-Ones, and most of those are touch enabled
- Some All-in-ones have handles and battery packs, allowing you to take them from room to room, and use them like a giant tablet
- Even standard non-convertible laptops are thinner and lighter than before
- Displays have vastly improved
- Almost all devices have SSD's or SSD caches
- The specs have vastly improved at $499-699 price points
- Android tablets have been moved to and buried inside the phone section - meanwhile, the PC shelf space has expanded

All very nice improvements, in my mind. The PC's are vastly more compelling than a year ago. I think the average end-user would call that pretty dramatic "innovation".

WTF are you talking about?

PCs are under enormous competitive pressure from tablets. Why do you think laptops are becoming more tablet-like? Why do you think desktops are starting to look like iMacs?

Even PCs are starting to adopt the App-store way of selling software.

Meanwhile Microsoft is trying desperately to merge the desktop and tablet experience. Maybe one of these days they'll get it right.

PCs are not dead nor are they stagnating. That's a load of poppycock.

one thing's for sure with wind tell sucking the oxygen away from the OEM's, they won't be doing much.

I guess it's up to Intel and Microsoft who are just such trend setters.
