Agreed, Watts. The canard is a dicey foundation to be sure. The EAPS system is still in development, but it is unfortunately not one of the essential missile programs for Lockheed Martin. As such, it is in danger of being discontinued as a result of sequestration cuts. Also, the missile tests so far include one hit and one miss (although, I'm told a miss is also quite useful to understand how to improve the system, assuming there isn't some fatal flaw).
I suppose the moral of the story here is that the program is not a sure bet by any means, and if it does continue to receive funding, it might be a while before it's ready for production.
Amazingly, after all this time, golf clubs might still be this company's most likely source of real revenue in the short(er) term!
