Hey, hiker, I'm a Bulkowski follower, too. He does point out two characteristics common to H&S: 1) each shoulder should be about equidistant from the head in time and price, and 2) there should be symmetry within the formation. Of equal note in my opinion is the volume trend. ("Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns", Pg. 265).

I don't think the patterns we are discussing meet these criteria, BWDIK.
