AJ -- I gotta thow my hands up and say "whatever." If you think a head and shoulders pattern doesn't need a defined left shoulder -- if you think that's just a "literate" version of the pattern -- that's your call. I think, and I could be wrong, that decades and decades of pattern studiers would disagree. In fact, I'd love any TA experts or studiers here on the thread to chime in, since I do love to learn. Any takers?

Further, let's look at that glossary definition. (http://stockcharts.com/education/ChartAnalysis/headShouldersTop.html)

It says...

The neckline forms by connecting low points 1 and 2.

So, by that definition, the line also doesn't extend to the right. Nowhere in that defintion does it say to extend the line to the right, as you've done. But you did. So why not to the left, too? If you're gonna try and "parse" with me, I suggest you do it more carefully.

And while I'm impressed by your natural vision, I fail to see how that implies that you are using that great gift properly in this instance. In fact, see above. Also, as Ted Williams would tell ya, his eyesight alone isn't why he was a great batter: -- He not only hit, he knew how to hit; there was no keener, more devoted, more articulate student of the art.
