Seeing at 20 feet what the average man sees at 10 is an incredible advantage when hitting a 90 mph fastball . Think about WHERE Ted was able to pick up the ball and get a read on the pitch compared to everyone else. I bought his book on hitting where he diagrams the strike zone and what kind of average you will hit for from each section of the zone. NORMAL human beings don't have time to sit and wait on the first coupla strikes to select the ideal ball to hit. Sure, you still have to learn the trade but I would compare it to being built like Shaq or Wilt the Stilt for the NBA.
