Freep, you've pointed stockcharts' definitions out before. Please show me what you are talking about. Just because I didn't draw a straight line through the entire chart doesn't mean there's not a neckline.

Here's their educational section on H&S tops.

Note the part that says the neckline forms by connecting points 1 and 2. It doesn't say anything about extending beyond those two points. Their point about sometimes there being another low is their way of suggesting complex H&S top patterns.
