unlike cpus which serve very different threads of execution which makes it very difficult to design one cpu to follow all threads (ie multi-core cpus) memory controllers are relatively simple and it's possible to design one which can talk to two channels at the same time. chipguy seems to suffer from the same affliction but i guess that's why he works at intel :-)
