Great review! I haven't seen the film yet, but I saw this one recently in preparation. Can't wait to see this performance everyone is screaming about! Thanks Jeff.

In COLD Blood – DVD………I rented this because I heard it was necessary to view before you see Capote. Based on the factual events of two men who drove over 400 miles in one day some 50+ years ago for the “big score”. They end up killing 4 people for 40 dollars and driving to Mexico. They make mistake after mistake and it amazes me they weren’t caught sooner. One of the two is played by Robert Blake. (OT: The whole time I couldn’t help feel for his poor wife that was murdered in COLD blood herself, yet he walked, just like so many others with money. A shame and a travesty, I am no expert, but from what I saw of that trial, he had OJ Simpson eyes and a legal team just as good.)
Anyway, Truman Capote wrote the book/screenplay for the film. I was told that “Capote” revolves around that time frame and to watch it first. So I did, and I was impressed. The actors were skilled and the ending was just. I need to read a bit into the true history and see if they were as remorseful before they met their maker as told in the movie.
3.19 pickles out of 4, another classic worth the rental.
