Just imagine would it would perform like if they integrated the memory controller (although, after Timna, I understand their choice not to).

Timna was an excellent product and performed extremely well. It had no problems of it's own.

It sounds like you mean "scary" in a good way, as in "surprisingly efficient". In that case, I agree, and I think that Intel will integrate a memory controller, graphics, or anything else when they have a solution that will allow them to ramp their manufacturing facilities without depending on the memory industry (which is what they would be forced to do if they have to respin silicon every time a new memory standard comes out).
