I don't follow your logic regarding a Family Limited Partnership generating sales by Officer/Insiders.
I have had a Family Limited Partnership for years. I am the General Partner and my two daughters the Limited Partners
The Partnership owns 23,000 shares of IDCC. I gift the girls a 1% interest in the partnership each year and no sale of IDCC shares is necessary.
Why would you suggest , in response to Loop's uneasiness about large Insider sales of IDCC, that it is being done to shift low value shares to heirs.
Unless you are further suggesting that Insiders are generating cash through sale of IDCC to diversify the partnership's holding, your position doesn't wash.
As a matter of fact, from a tax standpoint, it is counter-productive, as current sales are generating taxable income. Why not just contribute the IDCC shares to the Family Partnership, a non-taxable event, and gift annual shares of the Partnership to the heirs???????????
