I think we are in a world leveling process with those on the bottom moving up and we are moving down. Some countries are just going nowhere. Here in South Louisiana we are at the mercy of world competition in seafood,rice, soybeans, textiles etc. If you come here to visit you will soon only find seafood from China and Vietnam. Now as I give up fishing after 30 years and move to burger flipper there is a ripple effect in that I don't buy equipment anymore. The same with my rice farming neighbors. Even the wages of the folks on the bottom of the ladder are held down by competition with imported labor from Mexico. We have friends in the Toronto area and they say seasonal Mexican labor goes that far North. These are legal people I'm talking about and I'm happy to see them get the work. I don't think we can make it as a pure service economy we will have to have product, but the question is what product.
