re: what's the benefit of Google doing their own server CPU? Is there something special about "cloud computing" that would benefit from a custom-built CPU? Highly unlikely.
Custom built SoC more probably, not CPU. So I should get the most intelligent and strongest person around and ask them to wash the windows instead of that bloke with a ladder and bucket? I wonder who'll cost more and who'll do the job quicker.
