Custom built SoC more probably, not CPU.



Technically there is no difference. Even server CPUs have so much integrated onto the chip, they could qualify as "system-on-a chip."

So I should get the most intelligent and strongest person around and ask them to wash the windows instead of that bloke with a ladder and bucket? I wonder who'll cost more and who'll do the job quicker.

The answer isn't really obvious. Staying with your analogy, if somebody pulled up with a truck full of intelligent strong men that were already trained on the work (full validation) and guaranteed to have workman's compensation insurance (backed by a large, respected manufacturing company) versus your need to go out and recruit some skinny guys with ladders and buckets you may find it cheaper and faster to just use the guys in the truck.

Plus you could further argue that if you change your mind and need to move some furniture later, then you already have the crew for that too!
