Much is being made of the guy who "signed" but didn't...apparently this guy was used in the past - the Deaf Association of South Africa wrote to officials and protested his last SA official appearance as he doesn't know squat about signing. South African officials should be embarrassed, but I get the impression they could not care less.
The bigger issue, imo, was this pretend signer was so close to world leaders, and if reports are accurate the SA officials did not have control over security at the Mandela memorial service and the first wave of people who showed up at the stadium pushed their way in and were not checked by security guards.
