The OEMs, who are the real customers, don't really care about the bonuses and commissions of the sales people. Why do you think that is an issue?............

B/C the salespeople care, that's how they operate. Don't know too much about how sales/marketing works, huh? Otherwise, I don't think you'd even ask the question. A better product only sells *itself* when it has a 10X advantage (ref: Art of War).

AG once got on the (then email) vmail broadcast to tell the Intel sales people that the Intel architecture was soooo good that it sells itself. That was at the height of Intel in the mid 90s. He couldn't understand why he needed to pay all those sales guys all that money. Let's just say that in the end, *he learned a lesson* and apologized (over vmail, of course).
