The interesting part is that a possible ‘coalition’ of two parties that would have a majority of votes in Parliament would be the Conservatives and the Bloc Quebecois. (124 and 51 seats [at present] = 175 seats [155 seats for a majority vote])
The BQ is a Quebec ‘separatist-type’ party while the present iteration of the Conservative party has its roots in Alberta. The Conservatives are not in any way a Separatist party, but there are some in Alberta that wish to cut the rest of Canada from us.
That is good news out of Canada. Maybe President Bush will have an ally with Harper. Prime Minister Martin seamed to try to pick a fight with the White House whenever he could. And it's nice to see him gone. The Conservatives do not have a majority so it will be tough. I wish the best for them.
