You can probably do a CT angiogram to look for narrowing of the blood vessels. Its pretty obvious that the cause of thrombotic event is likely due to accelerated atherosclerosis.



That is interesting.

Do we know what is causing the narrowing? Describing it as "accelerated atherosclerosis" suggests to me plaque buildup. Is that what you are suggesting?

Could there be other causes of the narrowing? Some constricting effect on the smooth muscle tissue of the vascular system?

I doubt that accelerated atherosclerosis is the mechanism. Its way more likely from insitu arterial thrombosis.
