Jimlur, I love this part of your post to the new class clown who is here for no useful purpose.

"Being an engineer I find it funny you work for a company that is involved in a project that's going no where."

Hey folks Jimlur has got jokes, humor and a sense of wit.

Jimlur, how could you make that statement.

I have tried/tested TD-SCDMA handsets and I am glad my company does not make them. The last time I checked TD-SCDMA out was at the PT Wireless Expo in Beijing last October, how about you?
Yet none of those 1.3 billion people are using it, go figure...

Technology-wise TD-CDMA is the most similar 3G technology to TD-SCDMA. Biggest difference being that it actually works for broadband data. IP Wireless and their partner Alcatel are making a go of TD-CDMA in several countries including UK and USA.

You guys are the ones pumnping up the hype about InterDigital's TDD and 3G IPR, so when will I see one of those companies licensed?? As it is, the TDD story seems as pathetic as pumping up the Tantivity settlement...

JimLur, Howard Goldberg did imply that IP Wireless...

would require a license, but at the time (3/05) IP Wireless' infringement was too small to warrant dedicating IDCC's limited resources to.

Howard Goldberg, InterDigital Communications - President, CEO [79]

First with respect to UMTD particularly the IP Wireless and its partners, it's a broadband approach to the market that is going to compete against Wi-Max and a whole host of other different approaches into the marketplace. It is not something that we are trying at this point in time to project (protect?) our technology. On the opportunity scale it is not one that we see is large enough for us to devote substantial resources and make a subtraction from other primary efforts that enter InterDigital's undertaking at this point in time.
