Don't assume anything.
My first post here was a year or two ago, simply asking why shorting was legal in the US. I was driven out, met with the same rudeness I other new people receive by regulars. It's like a bunch of 14 year old girls who've formed a clique and thumb their noses at anyone who isn't a member. It's rude, unwelcoming, unnecessary and, frankly ignorant because, as you say, you assume something here. And the irony is that it's the regulars who think they know everything, hence their rudeness to "newbies", by suggesting they know what they're talking about and new people couldn't possibly.

Btw, the best way to get over your own pain is to think of someone else's, like HB's or the scientists who worked for years on this stuff, or the patients whose hopes have been dashed. I lost a lot (for me) but all I could think of that day was, "what an awful day this must be for Dr. Berger, et al).

Anyway, it fell far enough below where I bought it that I've decided to stay in and hope it recovers. I think it's a stable company (or was, and can be again), is the real deal, and that, if it can get past this shake period, it will recover. I do think it will take a long time. I also think the FDA probably knows Ariad's potential and is not interested in sinking the company via rash decisions.

Please look at my posts if you are referencing me- my questions are rationale. FWIW I had a lot of skin in the game: My Basis was $475k; sold(33kshrs) all but 7k shares for a cash basis lost of $230k with another $60k on paper loss in the shares not sold; forgive me, I panicked, but you know what, it could have been the right move as i can possibly get back in with more shares once I determine there is legitimate hope. I believed in this company and still do, would like to get back in but am nervous-look what happened last Friday-rose nicely to 4.5 then bam Friday morning. I think any questions I have raised should be considered for anyones next move and are not negative nor positive. Everyone has a different take on their investing strategy and despite our best efforts and knowledge things can still go wrong, or right for that matter and if you are not in it you will still feel the pain-
