It's a "cosmetic" change to the way the site is viewed.

This new format should be a choice, I think many if not most would opt for the older one than this.

Why not put a Close/Open Side Bars tab at the top of the page or in the Toolbar?

please post instructions on getting a refund for this change in service that had no notice given.

I disagree.
Visuals are a major factor for any site.
Presentation is a big part of doing internet business.

Bottom line... It doesn't matter what I think about the site's change.
Admin will do what admin will do.

LOL, Try viewing it from your Phone or Tablet. It is the site that is not viewed. Works on my PC. But I'm mobile most of the day.

IHUB is a social media site, one of the original ones in a way.

It's not a financial news portal (even though it has that side capability). It's mostly a social media community.

The hostility shouldn't come as any surprise. If you cut Facebook or Twitter's communication view by 67%, you'd have the same riots.

I appreciate advfn's desire to monetize the site better, but like any media company, they need to find an acceptable balance between commercials and content. Ads are more tolerable one a one-way non-social-media device such as a financial news portal or a newspaper. They are not acceptable filling up an area once reserved for the user experience.

nope .. it's like a fracking operation set up beside the house .. the ugly feel arises from the why .. the ugly view just is .. to get a good view of how the post looks in the old mode i have to now hit "Previous" then "Next 20" .. to have some of them more visually appealing which is a source of some personal satisfaction on many, that has to be done .. customer satisfaction is as cold as glacial calving .. not good, Shelly .. on posting it's like opening a curtain to a waste dump .. love the "Next 20" view though ..

Now, try eliminating the aesthetically unpleasing stuff to the left and right of the main message box, expanding the message box to fill the screen, and VOILA! you'll have a hit that pleases the hoi polloi who fill your coffers with their membership dues.

Remember we pay for this, the related discussions part is garbage and clutter. You can just as easy put that under the post space!
