I'm a "rep' (allbeit in software)
and like every business its all about increasing productivity.
So I'm not one to diss a sales force, but in my community we have a top doc (card ) dispensing Vascepa "off label" to patients with low trigs but request Vascepa for anti inflammation etc. And he is switching patients from Lovaza (my girlfriend is an RN in Telemtry / ICU unit and works along side him ) But here's teh kicker, he never spoke to a rep!
I think the promise of Fish Oil was a road paved, menaing Endo's and Cards, PCP's heard rhe "promise" but the science and proof was lacking
Now we know its all about EPA and by word of mouth, and Patients. Sure we want accelleration and we want it now as investors, but I sense there is a inertia building and soem of our assumptions that the barrier to knock off Lovaza was low might in fact be true
Based on a small sample size, I can see scripts accellerating soon and I can see it going near vertical when Lovaza gets converted - over 1 year - sounds difficult to comprehend with only 300 reps, but word travels fast these days
We'll see
