with all the layoffs on wall street, it may be the amateur/pro ratio hasn't changed significantly. i have no idea, just tossing the thought into the ring.

if IBM spins gold tonight - which would require some serious alchemy IMO - we're going to the moon on INTC and MSFT tomorrow.

qcom(cellular could be big, I swear;))

It will consistently explode like this after it looks "broken" according to a typical ta look. This is why I suggested augie not use it as a leading indicator

I have as much nok as qcom, fwiw

I agree that the vix spike will not occur

Looking back, it took a good 7 months spent under the 200 day before the back of the bulls was broken, and even then, there were a few spectacular rallies that gave them hope. I think we may see some of that..this will require LOTS of patience. Mots of the folks left, are either good at shorting or have a sell the rally attitude. They have to be retrained through pain. It has to get to the point where it is too painful to continue to do what has worked for so long.

I think bears have suffered almost nothing yet, so this will take a long time to unwind

By amateurs, do you include all the folks with mutual funds in IRAs and 401Ks?
